We had the exact address of the apartment written down for taxi drivers. The address includes the cross street. There was also a landmark written down but it is something that doesn't currently exist (a tomato field) because at the moment there is no good landmark nearby so only older drivers familiar with the area would recognize it.

My advice stands. It was not to be in Parque Lleras but within easy walking distance of it (5 blocks would be fine). The advice is to be near El Poblado, the street, because it has lots of landmarks and at worse you won't have to walk too far up the hill from it.

5 blocks up Parque Ileras is almost perfect. The place I rent is 5 blocks as well. My first trip, I stayed on Parque Ileras and it was too noisy. I write down the exact Address of the edificio (building) and I memorize the closet landmark such a hotel or the street intersection. Makes it easy for Taxi drivers. In some cities, I even take a picture of the front of the building from my phone but I never had to do that in MDE.

I'm going to help you out a bit. First, you really should read the forum. Scroll back about two months worth for the up to date info. Then visit the sister thread on the Medellin List to see the locations and prices. That is the BEST ADVICE any of us can offer you. There are massage parlors, strip clubs, disco's, etc. For you to visit.
