the law (becoming popular in cities around the world) is actually as a result of the lobbying of the hotel companies and has nothing to do with the small number of mongers around. they recently implemented this in nyc (where i was from) and it has been bandied about here in lima.

many mongers will stay for a month or more so it does not affect them. the "real tourists" are just passing thru for a few days and are opting for apartments rather than putting up the family in a hotel. the hotels are well aware of cl and other venues and are acting in there own self interest. if there were any major players in mde they would band together to form an association and make there voices (money) heard!

that was a hoax, i contacted the poster to buy all or lease, never returned the email. that cl post was put there to scare off foreign investors. i think someone was taking a shot at me, funny he mentions the same apartment number he owns, i own that number. he says in ny freezing, i am in ny freezing. my new problem at soto, i'll go long term, short term or i'll sell them for a profit through first american. it's that simple. meanwhile good colombian real-estate continues to rise. if it goes sideways or down, i'm 42, who knows what will be in 15-20 years. chess thanks man for the kind words. me and ruben actually care about our clients, that's our secret our niche, i also can decorate the crap out of apartment, and yes i have some deep pockets, it wasn't handed to me i carved it out myself. go go gold & silver, still plenty of room to run on silver. never say i didn't give a tip. now soto verde says i can't have any women enter my apartments, gearing up for a lawsuit and half.

I'm waiting for the next available travel agent and who do they give me? The Dali Lama himself, flowing robes, book of Tibet, bald, striking. First I asked him where the airport is located and he, said "Gunga Galunga". . That is when I asked him to help you guys out : The Montreal to Medellin thing, and here is his advice:

"For my money and time there is just no better route to MDE from Montreal than via Atlanta.". Says Dali Lama from Tibet Travel in Skokie, Tibet.

To which I replied,"Hey Lama! They don't wants no big layovers as that cuts into chica time".

Dali Lama grunts, says a prayer and does some incredible magic on his computer, takes pull on his Elsinore, scratches his flanel robe and says, "I'm talking Delta of course. No need to book two seperate airlines and it's all one ticket. No extra baggage fees"

It seems you are a little "Unluckie" when it comes to travel agents. Better inform the Dali, that flight 443 on Feb. 12 leaves out of Atlanta at 4:55 pm, and arrives in Bogota at 9:42 pm. Which means of course you will miss your Avianca flight to MDE, and will have to spend the night in Bogota and catch a flight to MDE the next day. Bummer.

Trust me, I used to live and work in the heart of it all. Of course, I understand wanting to avoid the stress of leaving the airport and then having to re-do the whole security screening drama.

No one who has apts for sale or rent is going to post in Craigslist that it's really hard to do. Pretty easy to see through this guy.

Might be another reason to avoid Medellin though, I can tell gringos have a bad rep here, and it's not going to get any better.

And yeah, tons of europeans here as well. I have phone numbers of maybe 15 prepagos, most of them well known, and to find one available on a Monday night I had to call 10. Admittedly it was last minute, but everyone is calling all the same girls. So far my 2 episodes with the well known girls have been very disappointing. I'll try one more before sticking to the 2 non pros I have found, that have much better attitudes, and even though they are over 30, look as good as the 20 year olds.

There are reputable renters on craigslist. To say that their apartments are vacant is bullshit. There are plenty of agencies that can help you rent. Heck, you can post here and charge less than what the standard rate is. And you will get guys banging down your door. Even a discount rate is better than a vacant apartment!

Seeing the same prepagos is lame. They overcharge because they know you are gringo. You want some real fun? Start your own network. Go to casas. Take them out. Meet their friends. Meet their friends friends. You'll soon have your own private network.

The best way to do it is to connect through Miami or Orlando. You need to book 2 separate flights. One from Montreal to Miami and the other from Miami to Medellin. Give yourself lots of time to connect in Miami as the flights from South America are often delayed. Let me know if you need any further info.

The best way to do it is to connect through Miami or Orlando. You need to book 2 separate flights. One from Montreal to Miami and the other from Miami to Medellin. Give yourself lots of time to connect in Miami as the flights from South America are often delayed. Let me know if you need any further info.
