    First Trip to Lima.

I just got back last week from my first trip to Peru and wanted to share some of my experiences. I've travelled to quite a few countries in South and Cental America including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, , Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Panama. Every place is unique and different and my favorite place for the last few years has been to stay at the Medellin Mansion. It is always tempting to head back to Medellin, but I've decided I need to broaden my horizons and try new places. I was very glad that I decided to vist Lima.

Lima is a beautiful city with many parks. The area I stayed in, Mira Flores, is very upscale with any convenience you need. There are wonderful restaurants and great places to walk. My favorite was along the cliffs above the beaches. It has absolutely stunning views. I felt very safe, even late at night, walking around the area. It also has a significant tourist industry. I took two tours on Mirabus, one to the old downtown historical area and one to the Inca pyramids just to the south of town. I enjoy having something different to do during the day and there are many, many options in Lima. This is somewhat different from Medellin, which is a lovely city, but has little new to see after being there a few times.

I stayed at the Marisa Luisa Hotel after reading recommendations on the board. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for mongers, although there were a few problems. The biggest issue was that there is a new building being built next door to the hotel and the constuction noise starts at dawn and goes until dusk (except Sunday). I would recommend getting earplugs. The hotel rate for a junior suite also changed several times. Initially, I sent a request for a reservation back at the beginning of December and the rate on the website was $100 soles per night. The hotel replied that the rate was going up to $120 soles per night after the first of the year. I replied that this was fine, but when I arrived, the rate was $130 soles. This is still only about $48 per night which isn't outrageous, but the changes were a little irritating. The hotel doesn't take credit cards, so it is necessary to pay in cash. The hotel location is excellent. It is only about two blocks from Parque Kennedy and is close to everything. The junior suite wasn't luxurious, but was adequate. The drinks from the minibar were only $3 soles each. The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, but there was a fan in the bedroom which was all that was really needed this time of year. There was also a computer for free use in the lobby which was handy since I don't carry a laptop. I had no issues bringing girls up to the room. They merely left their I'd at the desk and there was no additional charge.

As for the girls. I was somewhat worried when I first planned my trip to Lima. I had heard that the Peruvian girls weren't as pretty as the girls in Colombia. However, I was very pleasantly surprised otherwise. While there may be more beautiful women in total in Colombia, there are still many, many girls in Peru that are just as pretty as any in Medellin. I relied on David to arrange girls for me for two nights and both were absolute gems. They were both beautiful and sweet with no time pressures at all. I think they were some of the best girlfriend experinces I've had on any of my trips. I was hoping to repeat with both girls, unfortunately circumstances prevented this (more later). I can't say enough good things about David. He provided me with all kinds of great information prior to my arrival and arranged both of the girls even though he was getting ready to leave on vacation to Asia.

Unfortunately, the last few days of my trip went downhill due to being very sick. The guidebook recommends drinking bottled water, asking for drinks without ice, and brushing your teeth with bottled water. I do only drink bottled water when travelling, but neglected to follow the last two rules. The stomach virus I picked up was quite unpleasant. In addition to the normal stomach problems, I had a fever, cold sweats, and wasn't able to eat for three days. I bought an antibiotic at the Pharmacy (no prescription necessary) and started to feel better eventually. However, I was too exhausted and sick to even think of women the last few days. It is a shame because I wanted to repeat with both of the girls I met through David and also wanted to try the massage place called Relax why Vida which I have heard recommended. Next time, I'll be more careful and do without ice in my drinks.

In summary, I would highly recommend Lima. In addition to the beautiful women, there is also so much else to enjoy about the city. In fact, I had planned a trip to Medellin over the Summer, but have now decided I wish to return to Lima instead. Next time I want to stay at least ten days and hopefully take a trip to Machu Pichu as well. Lima is my new favorite destination.

Again, Thank you David for making my first trip to Peru so enjoyable. I'll be back soon.

What strikes me as interesting is now ST mongers are saying the same thing. Any thoughts by the guys (Palermo / thomasab) others who have traveled to both?
The airfare to Lima is $50 more, the same meal about $1. 00 more and the girls cost about $10 more. Sorry but the Medellin crowd will never ever go for that super huge inflated increase. Are you kidding me? You got guys on the board screaming and yelling over $2 fukin dollars. I know guys going to street walkers here trying to talk them down from $15K blowjobs (That's under USD$8. 00 currently).

Palermo you are comparing on the Medellin side prices of girls in the higher end places like Luna and such and not the day time casas or Mayorista girls ($USD15-$20). I think the Lima babes are about $10 bucks more over all, but I could be wrong.

Me? I would NEVER come to Medellin for a vacation no matter how hard up I was for pussy. Sorry but I can think of 10 better places and I am not a rich guy by any means.

Nice LB, what are you kinda slow business wise where you felt the need to post this in the MDE thread? Common now I know you like the occasional "back pat" LOL I love Peru, I love the food (best in Latin America IMHO) , nice people, amazing culture and sure you can find beautiful girls in any country. I have seen many many many head turners in Peru from Puno, Iquitos to Tumbes. Its just Medellin is the "IT" spot right now. I think people know where to find the Peru and Lima section if they find the need to utilize it.

i called my friend p and he ran downstairs for the new experience. he just called me to thank me, and gave her a 20, 000cop tip. she was great. i feel so good, so good, and my back feels better. but i did not tip her that much!

thats great frank, always nice to hear about new services in la mayorista.

i sure hope they are open in the daytime as i would be afraid to be in that area at night. now if this establishment was in poblado where no one has ever had a problem then it would make me feel much more secure.

    Fase II. Tuesday night

Well, in all my visits here this was my first trip here. So this is where a good selection of hot women can be found. Nice. Entry was 10 COP. 1 beer 18 COP (may have been 2 COP added but I didn't debate it). Several hot dancers and about 30 women sitting around on the prowl. I stayed about 2 hours, enjoyed the strip show. I would say 75-80% of the women sitting did not get picked up. Could it be pricing (170 COP +-)? Most were content with having a good time and customers buying them drinks. Most of the locals as I, had a few cold ones and watched the show. For me I could not justify what they were asking for when I know you can always find a jewel in far less pricey places.

Worth a visit if this is your scene. Enjoy!

Runner Up is a self proclaimed millionaire who speaks like a hick who is here on a sex form, according to him, in order to get "travel Information".

I already called him out last time here and he didn't respond. No surprise.

Him, conceited? I thought his posts made him look just the opposite, embarrassing actually.

Any guy with real game doesn't walk constantly repeating and repeating ,"I've got game! I've got game! I get laid!" over and over on a forum or anywhere. Think about it. The question is why does he need to impress us? Why is he here trolling for approval from guys like us who have their shit together?

He has issues, poor guy so,

Please go easy on this hick from Skokie as he is only banging skanks and does not get quality women. If he thinks he does or is too stupid to know the difference good for him.

And Skokie, I mean Runner Up, if you are reading this – "good job, you are so money, who's better than you big guy! You've got my approval brother!"

(even though he makes an ass out of himsself all by himself usually my posts keep him a away for about a month)

Great staff, free wifi on every floor, free coffee, chica friendly for a couple of hrs. The best is on the weekends, some freelancer walk around this street. Just some young nenas that want to make some weekend money. (semipro).

    All for $50, 000 p a night.

10min cab ride from downtown casas or just take the metro to Pablado which is the center of all the casas.

    Stay Hotel

Since your budget is $1100 for 8 nights in Medellin, you better (have to?) stay in cheap hotels. Stay at hotels in Mayorista or El Centro. Hotel Crystal is close to casas in Centro, and I believe they charge around $25. Hotels in Mayorista cost between $15-25. I recommend staying in Mayorista first. After you get up and eat breakfast and / or lunch, you take metro and go to casas in Centro. You can go to strip clubs later. In the evening, you go back to mayorista and you can bring girls to your hotel. If you find that you do not like Mayorista in the 1st night, you can move to a hotel in El centro next day.
As for Spanish, just get a book and start learning "now". If you really try, you can learn basics in one week.

I have found a round trip ticket departing on March 1st and returning on March 9th for $380 (from Washington DC). I am highly considering this because I will have an 8 night stay in MDE, which is longer than what I expected. My budget is currently at $1500 max (including airfare and stay). I have been told that hotels in Mayorista can be $25 / night which would be very ideal for me so I can be somewhat picky on the girls. My main worry right now is my lack of spanish, and a place to stay after CB2. Thoughts?

I think I may actually follow this plan. I need to do more research on the hostels and places to stay after CB2.

    Eslabon Prendido

That salsa place you are talking about, near Parque Periodista, must be the Eslabón Prendido. How it is? What's it like?
