I would assert that there is no difference in the looks of a casa girl and a girl you will find hanging out with her friends in Poblado. It is just that the casa girl arrives to flatback, while the chicks in Poblado have fixed themselves up to go out by putting on nice clothes, nice shoes, and are carrying nice purses. If you threw that casa girl in the same clothes, makeup, and hairstyle, then you would think she was just as hot as all the other chicks you see around Poblado on a Saturday night.

    "Club Gringo Poblado"

"I saw many amazingly hot women on the streets, in the malls, etc. But this was not reflected in the casas. There is a big difference in the hotness levels of the girls you see around the city and the casa girls. Of the possibly over 200 girls I must have seen in the casas I did not observe one diamond in the rough this trip. For some reason which I do not know there is a definite decline in the quality of chicas in the casas compared to years ago. ".

Guys could hire a place and have parties and invite "amazingly hot women" that you meet on the streets and FB etc.

    Club Gringo Poblado smells $$.

They don't work in casas anymore, only some hotties at New Life and Energy, while Loutron is far away, rules, extra fees, CBJ.

A Club which invite only "amazingly hot women", with no demands on sex etc, they can party for free.

Then they are not prepagos, just visiting a Club!

That sounds alright. Is that your own place and is it for rent as a complete apartment? Where can I find more information, specifically about prices?

    Thanks.

I checked into my rental in Poblado on a Friday afternoon and the theft occurred that Saturday afternoon in broad daylight on a busy street (3 blocks from Parque Lleras, 1 block to Parque El Poblado). There was a deadbolt door to the building and another deadbolt lock on my apartment, but no doorman. That afternoon I went downtown to meet up with a few friends, do some sight seeing and hit some casas. When I returned 4 hours later at 5 pm the front door was locked, but the door to my unit was forced open and my laptop, watch, and apple iPhone cords were stolen. All of my clothes were also strewn about the place and thoroughly ransacked. My passport, money, credit cards, and iPad were luckily in the safe. My laptop would have been, but it didn't fit and I optimistically thought two doors would stop robbers (ha ha). Not to mention I thought Poblado was relatively safe.

Anyway, the rest of that week was a pain as I had no desire to stay in an unsafe apartment after such a unnerving experience and scrambled to find another. I also spent 3+ hours on the phone with my firm's security department and needed to fly back to the states early. I would not wish it on any of you! Thank you to those that helped me out that week, especially the fellow monger who let me crash in an extra bedroom for two days. I very much appreciate it.

Even those of us that have been traveling for years (15+ in my case) can fall victim. Keep your heads on a swivel, think twice about the security provided where you book, and stay safe my friends!

Happened to me but in London of all places! I mean I was in a really REALLY expensive neighohood tht is super safe.

All locks do is slowdown criminals. But the good part from my break in was that they didn't get my valuables because I actually had all them with me that day as I had some work to do with it. They did snag my laptop charger and weirdly they went through my frige and took my snacks. After that incident I have been looking for some sort of a portable alaram I can put on the door that will go off it there is enttrygained and will alert my phone. There are plenty on the market but none that are portable. If I find it I will message you. Sorry for the loss, but if you have home owners innsurance you can sometimes get that recovered. I hope things work out for you.

You nailed it with narcissistic females on the Tinder site! Way to much work, and even if you do get them to meet you generally you won't score, because your the 20th guy today that told her she's beautiful. Much better to hit the streets of Centro or if your pressed for time go with the sure thing! New photos on the website!

    Thanks,

I know which ones you speak of. There are two different sets of apartments on the same street, managed by the same company. Both have good security doors at the street level, but standard interior door locks on the doors inside the common hall / stairway. Each time I stayed at these places I worried about this. During 2-3 different stays, some stupid gringos would leave the security door propped open because they were too lazy to go downstairs to let their chicas in, upon arrival. Or they were too drunk upon return to ensure the security door was closed behind. It was only a matter of time before this element of Medellin saw a target-rich opportunity. I even confronted guests in both buildings about the stupidity of this decision, only to be looked at as paranoid. They had NO idea the risk they bringing on to themselves or others in the building, but it was apparent they could care less about the risk they were bringing on to others. I will definitely not be staying at these in the future because the criminal element of MDE knows there will be future break-in's. Next time, the situation could be far worse than loss of personal items. If the owners are reading this, you might want to add security doors to the doors in the stairwell, possibly even an automatic door closure. At the very least, solid doors with deadbolt locks so your guests can feel more secure, especially when they are inside the unit.

Thanks for sharing. This definitely can happen anywhere but it's a shame.

I am surprised they didn't get into your safe it's pretty simple to do. They had to be serious non pros which was good for you. Sorry to hear your violation. That sucks. Cudos to guys that helped you out!

You are just a party animal. I am not sure anyone on the board can keep up to you including O. P! I highly suggest you expand your horizons and check out bars such as Pleyclub, Cafe Havana, Mirador Cafe Bar, take one of the girls to Mr. Babillas, but on weekends you better get there by 10:30, or go to the bars I previously have mentioned to you.

I would also like to see you make a video tape of the girl you called a nut case so we can see how two nut cases carry on. Also post some pics.

Have fun, no hallucinating, and most importantly be safe!

Sounds like an inside job. Sometimes girls you bring to the apartment will case it and pass information to confederates about what you have and your travel patterns.

    Casa Scene

My three month stay in Medellin has come to an end. I stayed in Poblado I started off in a hotel and ended up at the Estelar Apartamentos Medellin which is an aparta hotel that would charge you an extra 30,000 COP for a visitor. Both were very comfortable.

I basically checked out every casa known to gringos, many of which I have visited on previous trips as far back as over ten years ago, some have the same name but different locations.

I saw many amazingly hot women on the streets, in the malls, etc.

From my experience you get the most from the casa scene by checking out as many casas as possible. I never allow myself the luxury of high expectations so I always found a chica to session with at every casa I visited, I never walked out of a casa without going with a chica even when there were only 2 available which was the case in one of my visits to Kamasutra (one of my favorite casas during the mid 2000's).

Here is my take on some of the casas:

New Life...most chicas (I counted 23 on one occasion).

Loutrons. Most expensive (260,000 COP per hour). Hottest chicas.

Energy... My favorite, I visited this casa more often than any other.

    Zandolay...Most friendly mamasan.

Observation: The casa most visited by westerners was by far New Life but it was also the first time in all my visits to Medellin that I got such a high percentage of bad service at New Life, it was about 30% where the girls were star fishes or worst yet tried to rush the service and that mostly occurred when the casa was crowded with punters (especially the weeks around Easter). I suppose because incrementally the more sessions they do the more they earn. Two half hour sessions get them more than a one hour session. I had only one other poor service in all the other casas I visited and that was a star fish in Energy. All my other sessions were reasonably good.
