Again, this is after you go through security which takes liquids as well. That kind of pissed me off because it is a long flight, and I bought liquids in the airport after clearing security.

This notion of checking a phone is new, and I have not seen it, but I have only flown out of Cartagena and Bogota and not Medellin. In CTG, there was no search of anything.

I knew it was coming, because of SSSSS on the bottom of my boarding pass, highlighted to make sure it wasn't missed. I was flying on AA, and I was called to the gate before boarding to be informed, that I was chosen for an Extra Security check, and they took and kept my boarding pass, and told me to come see the Airline personal in about 4 minutes.
