This is to add to what has been said over the last couple of weeks in what to look for when searching for prepagos in Medellin who work off of Facebook. I noticed that someone posted a few days back about the FB page "Happy Ending Medellin" having prepagos and mongers in the friends list of the page. I looked through there briefly and saw a few active chicas and a few active mongers. The catch is to find one who does not have a private friends list. My advice is to click on any gringo name and see if you can see their friends list. And if the name looks made up the there is a 99% chance they are a monger. Though chances are pretty good in a page called happy endings anyway.

I also saw some chica pages that I know to be dead ends. The chicas have either mover on or they started antother profiles so you want to pay attention to the last time they updated their profile photo and their background photo. A year is acceptable because if it is her working profile and not her main profile that can happen - 2 years means its probably and dead end.

One sure sign that a chica is prepago is if she has gringos in her friends list. One poster mentioned that they will have revealing photos. My favorite type of revealing photo. Becuase in mostcases it is unmistakably a indicator is the photo of the chica sitting / laying on her bed in her underwear. I'm doing exactly what you describe here. I started polling FB about 1 week ago, and I have friended with 30 sexy (semi) pro.

The process is slow, but works. I only found profiles from Medellin, none from Cartagena or Cali, and I wish them too.

As for other, I do not know whether FB is enough, or I should spend for Seeking or ColombianCupid. If there are many additional profiles, I would be happy to spend. Any expert feedback?

Two hotels ago I struck up a friendship with the hotel manager where I was staying. I liked her because she was strict and obsessive-compulsive about how she ran the place. I've been thinking about coming to Medellin for a week and work from the hotel. I, like many, are working from home right now. I am partial to SW's and Casas like La Mezzanine in Bogota. A couple of questions I have though:

1. I'd like to be close to El Centro because I would like to, in between meetings at work, grab a girl for a quicky. Can anyone recommend a good hotel that has good internet (this is vital), close to El Centro to grab a SW off and on throughout the day and is a nice (like Hilton type)?

2. Are their any casas close to El Centro that I could also pop in during the day in between meetings?

3. Do any of you take these SW girls from El CEntro to your hotel or do you take them to the short time hotels that I am sure are near where these girls are?

I feel your pain, hehehehe heck after 5 years living in Medellin and you would think that it, I should say I, would slow down but no just every week picks up more and more momentum that keeps pushing so I am hanging on for the ride, hehehehehe.

I remember some BM posting that when booking at San Peter that there is a lot less noise in the apartments that do not face the street and the poster told how to distinguish between the rooms facing the street and the ones not facing the street by their number. Would you know how to distinguish these by the room number? Or anyone else reading this who knows how?

The apts ending in 01 have bedrooms facing the carerra 70 bars and therefore are hard to sleep until after 4 AM. The units ending in 02 and 03 have living rooms facing 70 and bedrooms on the other side. You can still hear the weekend noise but not as bad. The apts ening in 02 are slightly bigger and nicer than the 03 units from my experiences there. So I always request an 02 apartment.

Before booking, I recommend sound proof windows. Unless you are planning on not sleeping at all. Check the reviews on Arbnb. There is a night club right next door upstairs. Another loud entertainment place on the corner and another one across the street on the corner on the second floor of that building. $35 dollars is usually not the sound proof window room. Expect to pay just a bit more for that more like the 40 dollar range. Those rooms are usually booked in advance

Well maybe in the year 2050. Def disagree with this thought. Tourists are the exception, not the norm in MDE. Most places have to sell their servcies and products to the local market, so these prices will cut it in the general market.

I agree with you with the exception of the front desk not knowing. It is the basically the same people at the desk for years. They know the amenities of each room from the pc they have to book rooms. Also, after hundreds of visitors they would know which are the quiet rooms. The rooms can be found in Arbnb and it will describe whether it has sound proof windows or not. If you are unsure book a single night at least that way you don't wind up losing a lot more.

They are all owned by different owners, so they all have different levels of finish and furnishings.

You can pay online with credit card on airbnb or booking.com or pay in cash at the reception. You get a little discount when you pay in cash.

And ground zero would be where? If you're thinking centro it is a bit of a hike. At a fast walk maybe 6 hours.

Suggestion. Have a a map open on your phone, and look at the scale and then check out places as they are mentioned in reports. You will see that it is a big city. The places that are talked about are many many miles apart. To the Mayorista area from centro might take you 40 minutes in a cab. Depending on traffic it could be more.

4 years ago I'm pretty sure I could have walked from El Centro to Motel Ibiza in under 3 hours, but there's no point. No chica is going to walk that far. Besides, it's less than a 5 minute walk from the Ayura metro station.

I suppose if you considered Mayorista as ground zero, it would be walkable, but any girls aren't walking that far.

It seems there are more than one owners. Because I heard about the noise, so I did what you suggested checking the reviews. I paid 150 mil (about US $50 at the time) a night about 2 years ago and had a quiet room. I remember I have to pay all in cash to the security plus some deposit. Now I am wondering if the $30 room is going to have noise problem.
