Personally I would be very cautious about getting my eye's worked on in Colombia. I know Lasik has been around a long time, but if there are some type of complications which of course can occur in the States, you might be better pressed having it done in the States, albeit it's going to be expensive. The technological differences are outstanding. Based on that, I would not be surprised if Medellin eye doctors have all the latest automated computerized measuring and surgical equipment. Vs your local LASIK place that uses 20 year old equipment and measures your eye prescription with little flip glass discs. Finally, I went to el Tesoro this trip to check out an opthomolagist and see if I was a good candidate for LASIK. The office I went to was in a large tower that had seven floors exclusively devoted to opthomology. The offices and space were very modern and the doctor I saw came off as quite knowledgeable. The price is probably one-fifth of what it is in the US between 2 million and 4 million pesos. So, I'm planning on getting eye surgery when I come back in the summer. I've also split my teeth cleanings between Medellin and Mexico over the last couple of years as that comes out to $25 a cleaning and the dentists compliment me on how good shape my teeth are in vs. Nagging as is often the case in the US. I went to a dentist a Colombian friend of mine recommended in Aranjuez and was again impressed by the modern equipment and nice office. They offered me a three-part tooth-whitening course, which I may do at some point in the future for 1 million pesos.

The quality varies widely and ages range from young to middle age. There are certainly some attractive couples there. Neither of the women I went with nor other women I've talked about the clubs with were interested in swapping. Great report. I got LASIK in the USA 22 years ago when the price was way cheaper; $499 per eye. My vision went to 20/10. Best $1000 I have ever spent. Still working great. I do use reading glasses sometimes now, but they tell you that you will still probably need them when you are older at the time of the surgery.

I was back in Medellin for six days last week and thought I'd share some general observations about a few different things both chica and city related.

To start with the negative, the oddest experience I had this last trip was finding out I'd been catfished. Long story short I'd been chatting on and off with a person on Facebook: Paula Ortiz.
