One of the YouTuber Flyboy went live last night to give update on lleras and it seems like some or most businesses are back open again. Some girls are hanging around in Calle 10. Gusto's is back on business.

I know this is very unpopular opinion but I really enjoy gustos. I love the club atmosphere of picking up chicas.

Yeah man I felt terrible about that. She treated me well and tried to fuck over my buddy.

    Child abuse by Colombians

It's still child abuse! Sad and perhaps true. I have heard and seen photos of 14 - 16 year olds doing that. Not knowing what I could do with the info. I asked not to be even shown the photos. Excuses about legality for marriage at 13. WTF? An inexcusable subject.

It's one of several reasons I avoid places where they congregate. I am already spending more time than I want talking about this stuff with everyone who knows I live in Colombia. The last thing any of us needs is to have to explain why you appear in a video (background or foreground) with some guy talking about what goes on in Parque Lleras. ChinoSexo, I agree that it's a good idea to keep a low profile. I don't think it should take global media attention to remind us of that.
Agree 100%. The youtube creep cams and youtubers in general have contributed to the demise of places like Sosua, Medellin and Cartagena.

No one was kicking anyone out of the coffee shop. Protesting merchants were imploring the Pergamino store to shut its doors and join the protest.

Gringos have nothing to do with locals cost of living. They are a drop in the bucket as far as the economy. Total tourism is not even much of a factor, and gringos are only a part of that.

The populace are upset with the sex tourism industry in a big way. And the politicians are listening. And acting. So the public sees male tourists to Colombia as depraved predators and politicians are doing something about it. A 6 month emergency order making prostitution illegal in certain areas is their response.

But there are others, especially in the affected areas, who see their businesses being destroyed if the tourists (non mongers as well as mongers) are chased away. Hence the protest by businesses. While this law does not target tourists at all really, it is in response to the perceptions around sex tourism, and so don't expect to be popular.

    Reality versus Abstract Analysis

I have been guilty of this too but we should focus on what is actually going on as opposed what I think may happen. What you think may happen is just mindless chit chat. What is actually happening is useful information. Instead of speculating, we just see what is happening in the next few weeks and some can report on the reality of the situation. I wouldn't panic over what may happen and just watch what is happening.

I agree with everything you said about Lleras and the cleanup efforts. The video in question however has been widely misrepresented. What really happened had nothing to do with the tourists. The protesting merchants were gesturing to the shop owners to shut their doors and join the protest March. Pergamino is not of course independently owned so it wasn't a choice the employees at the location could make.
