I know I am rehashing my old arguments here but Sjobs is just one of most curious things. Like if there was a mongering TV channel with a show similar to Dateline there would definitely be an episode called The Curious Case of the Missing Sjobs.

I have said this before about why I think he was (is) real but I get your point about his stuff sometimes not adding up. He was not like some guys who seem fake becuase he did not parrot the common wisdom. Like the prevailing wisdom on here is do not go to Gusto because its over priced but he would defend going there and spending outragious money becuase the chica would dance and party with him all night etc. His anxiousness to get back in and talk of smuggling was over the top but in the end he (allegedly) was on one of the first flights in when Colombia started letting people in again. He stated that he was going to buy an apartment and move there. But then after he caught the flight (allegedly) His last post said he had business dinner that night and then TLN with two 19 yr olds which leads me to wonder if the 19 yr olds didn't drug him, then he said he was going to post more later. Then he just disappeared.

That to me is the most suspicous part because he had been such a regular poster up to then. It is Colombia and we read often about people being murdured, and its possible that since he though he knew all he needed to know that he just decided he did not need this site anymore but that part does not jive because he had seemed to post with a frequency and in a way that indicated he like being part of this "coimmunity" (best word I could think of), Even if he was fake it does not make sense to me that he would just suddenly stop posting. There is obvioulsy not enough evidence either way about him but if I had to guess. My wild guess would be that he got murdered. It is the thing that would make the most sense to me.

Jajaja. It would also make sense that he was a paranoid schizophrenic that got medicated. LOL. He could also have been a teenager in his parents basement posting non sense. Of course he could have met the fate you describe. In the end unless he comes back and declares himself it's something we will never know.

For me the most entertaining of the pandemic was slapshot by a long way, he had easily hundreds of us living vicariously. I have been to MDE a few times before and knew people living there, but no ones stories backed up by pictures and nararives matched slapshots contributions in those dark days.

Yes, I recall you being one of a few who thought he was real, and actually in Medellin, while I was posting that I thought he was posting all his tales from the basement of his parents house where he lived, and never was in Medellin.

I am curious what others think, and perhaps some of are other respected board members who were around thru all of this might want to chime in.

I've read some stuff on here that was completely unbelievable and then met the person who wrote it and found out much of what I thought was bull was true. I've also read stuff from guys which seemed perfectly reasonable and then found out that the poster had embellished quite a bit.

One in particular that I ran into a few times was a poster fluent in Spanish, but with a very limited vocabulary.

Yes indeed, and there where some very entertaining posts from these posters, especially between Blackman and Slapshot, and how different they rolled, like polar opposites.

Agree. I first visited Medellin in early 2010 for a B-School buddies wedding and have been visiting ever since, both for girls and general vibe (work remotely). Back then it was still deemed a bit dangerous and the P4 P scene harder to find (mostly casas, FB was nascent), people suffering from general poverty. Since then P4 P rates have gone up slightly (accounting for USD exchange), also more girls doing it of course, but more importantly the average person seems to be doing much better when I think of the tourism industry. Overall I liked when it was only being 'discovered', but more so happy for how tourism (beyond mongers) has helped the average person do better.

Agree 100%. To make my Top 5 list the weighting of punctuality is almost on part with looks! Not performance though LOL.

Yeah and this guy in particular is a prime target. Anybody who has to ask if it is safe to go to El Centro should not go there. Insufficient experience. And this guy needs to RTFF but I doubt he'll actually show up in MDE.

100%. I have seen it time and time again. Guy comes into a thread and asks a ton of mostly mundane, elementary, and somewhat ridiculous questions wasting everybody's time. Date comes he claims he is going and he says this came up and he had to reschedule. He finally fades away from the thread never to be heard from again. Maybe coming on ISG doing that is some guys' way of bringing excitement to their lives.

I know that two dates don't a trend make but I have to share something that is so rare, I thought I would never see it.

Two days ago I made a date with a FB girl that I've seen 2 or 3 times before. Our date was for 10 am. I sent her a message at 8 am to remind her but there was no response. I never heard anything from her at all. I was kind of expecting this to be a ghosting. Until hotel reception called to tell me my guest had arrived. She walked in he door at 10:07 am.

And yesterday? Another FB girl I scheduled for a 1 pm date. I've only seen her once before and it was about 6 months ago. Same thing, I sent her a message in the morning and never heard a word from her (nothing, not a "yes I'm coming" not a "voy en camino", nothing). Again, my adjusted expectations were she wasn't going to show or she would be really late. Ringggg Ringggg.

12:50 reception notified my I had a guest. Yep, actually a few minutes early.

I had a 10:30 date yesterday and she showed up at 10:18. Before that, she was chronically late. Go figure.

So far I am having great success with meeting girls on facebook. What I am realizing is that the girls that have very little friends on facebook who seem to be normal regular girls get very jealous real quickly. Have you guys notice that? Its like these women have real bad trust issues. Also one of the girls who I plan to meet she was open enough to tell me she has a boyfriend and a son and that if we meet it needs to be discreet. Do you think that her having a boyfriend is going to be an issue? She actually seems really nice LOL. I don't want to be a home wrecker. Also what I have noticed is that 3 of the girls ask if I could bring them Flip Flops. Out of anything to ask its pretty crazy that they all asked for flip flops. Would it be tasteless if I brought flip flops from the dollar tree?

There are quite a few memes that make the rounds with the Medellin girls. One I saw today said "I prayed for a boyfriend, now I have 7."

One girl I usually see has a boyfriend of many years and 2 kids. I've met him. He's a bit of a pain in the ass, but a decent guy. It's not an issue. Most of the girls have either a girlfriend or boyfriend. You're just another customer.

I wouldn't waste my time on the jealous ones. No need for extra drama.

Cheap flip flops are fine. If you can find cheap ones that say "Gucci" they'll love them.
