I hope this can get you started for the first couple of days.

Day time, you can take a Uber to New Life near El Centro, see the map and list in Mojo's post. New Life has standard price, pay after and it is cheap. You don't have to take anyone, in that case, buy a drink to avoid the fee which is 4 mil when I last visited. When you are done, go to Plaza Botero for sightseeing and just observe some street actions, you don't need to participate, stay in the tourist area where you can see police. When it gets dark, you can try the strip club Conejita. This is just across the street from Plaza Botero. You can find pricing and more detail from Mojo's post. Another daytime place to go is Fantasia Energy at Laureles.

At night, you can go to La Isla. It's a high end strip club. It is more expensive but the price is fixed so you don't need to worry about scam. The striper will ask for tip after dance. I just give each 2 mil. You can grope them or interact with them. You can get 2 mil bills from the bar or the waiter can get it for you. If you see a girl you like, ask about service and take her to the room. The price should be fixed. You can pay by credit card at the bar. You can spend several hours here..

This is definitely the playbook that mongers new to MDE should follow.

So, I'm sorry to ask, but I just can't find any info searching, and I'm getting a bad vibe.

I'm due to visit for the first time in November. I'm an obvious gringo, travelling solo, with very little Spanish (but I'm still learning daily). I'm really having second thoughts about my trip. I normally travel to Thailand where there are lots of expats to meet up with. But I'm really struggling to get together a plan from the information I can gather. Whenever someone mentions a casa or gives a recommendation (like Motel Ibiza) I'm noting it, but still I have no idea where I'm looking to visit when I arrive.

To add to that, I've been adding FB ladies and some of them are posting memes making fun of gringos. So obviously these are bad calls on my part.

It has nothing to with over thinking things, but really about you, and how you've mongered in the past. I suppose you could stay at the Mansion, pay high prices, and have everything spoon fed to you, and perhaps find some comrades to hang with.

If not, you should consider going somewhere else that will be more user friendly and safer such as Sosua.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't think Medellin will be suited for you. And this doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you, but it's very different than mongering in Asia.

And as far as being a gringo, well there's no getting around that, so I don't see how it even factors in to your thinking. You have no control over that, and yes, people may take advantage of you, and most of the time you may not even know it, but this goes with the territory, so you just need to accept it.

No offense, you sound like a scaredy cat. And I mean this with respect, because If It is that obvious on this forum, it will be very obvious on the streets LOL.

It is not hard my friend. There are no "gringo" friendly places. It is not like a cruise port in maui where they welcome you with dancers and flowers. It is simply the streets, the best comparison I can give is that harvey keitel movie bad leuitant in the 80's nyc. Except it really isn't as dangerous as it seems. It is a working class city, just don't go out past 8-9 pm unless you cab it to clubs and youll be fine.

Again, don't over complicate things, like MR E says, it really is simple. You see a hot puta, pay her, fuck, leave.

Resurrecting memories from 2 months in Medellin (mostly) and Bogota turns out to take a few hours. LOL xyztravel? Help! But here's some photos, I hope they get posted. Mostly Seeking girls and La Isla. More later. I have been back in sex prison with bronchitis for a month now. It was worth it. I tried to post photos here. Think there were too many. Trying again. Also back in Colombia ASAP.

OK photos in smaller quantities works. Who really wants to read all this anyway? Stayed at Dann Carlton mostly in Medellin, also in Bogota but other places also. Paid around $80 +/- for 10's. Never did any 8's or lower. Spent 9 K over 2 months. Had many real travels and adventures. Could have spent less. LOL or even more. Who is counting? Met some of the nicest, most stunning women on the planet. Also made friends with them and even fellow tourists and the people living there. My opinion of cheap mongers is at an all time low. Guys be nice to these people. they are in bad shape, help em out. My opinion of Colombia, it's way too much fun but be careful.

The stars were aligned and I'm not declaring this run dead yet. I did finally buy my return ticket for 17,500 American Airlines frequent flyer miles and $68, I'm happy with that.

Thank you for clarifying it not being it about me, but since I am the one that asked all these questions I do have somewhat of an answer. I am planning my trip for next week and my understanding from everything I've read so far is to come prepared by creating a friend list and contacts for when you visit Medellin. I'm not at all social media savvy and I would rather not go through this process. I do not own a FB account and created one just in preparation for the trip. I am really bad at texting. When I'm going to a chica I'm trying to avoid rejection that I usually face.

I can understand where she is coming from by saying canson. They probably have so many people adding them and asking the same questions over and over again. My intention is not to bother her, but to know if she works and if I can have her as an option to plan my trip. My preference would be a place where you go and the process is as uncomplicated as possible. No prior preparation necessary. In a safe location. I'd rather not go through the whole Facebook process, but from what I've learned it is one of the most important aspects of trip preparation. If I didn't get this right correct me.

Hope this sheds some light on the why.

IMHO as living in Medellin for 4 years now, the really truly great unforgettable experiences are never ever planned or scheduled rather they JUST develop and appear seemingly out of no where.

This is the magic of living in Colombia as I never know when my next off-the-charts magical connection will come but it does come and happens often, about once or twice a month.

So the best advice that I can give is to have little expectations and just allow the moment to appear and when it does Oh lord have mercy.

I had one of these the other night with a 22 yo paisa, off the charts.

You can do both, then develop you own method. If you are not on her friend list, your message may go to spam folder which she may not read right away.

My advice if you are going to be there in a week is to send the friend request but send a message using messenger and tell them that you are going to be available on your given dates and would like to meet her. I usually tell them whereabouts I will be staying as well. That should get you responses. Just don't contact them with no plans to see them as I suspect many on the board do which is why some girls don't respond or get annoyed. I certainly would be annoyed if I were them.

This is my first post here. I have been lurking around for the last two weeks in preparation for a trip to MDE next week and I am very thankful for all the input so far.

I am having some trouble and hope some of you can help me learn the strides of this great hobby.

The last time I was mongering was in 2010 in Cartagena, and I have great memories of going to la Dolce Vita and just looking at the menu and takings someone back to the hotel.

I am a nervous wreck whenever it comes to approaching women. I have been reading that you have to prepare a facebook list of some. What do you write to them?

I was also looking at spending a night at Mansion. I only have 4 days and I think I'm trying to see as much as possible not considering that I can only fuck a limited amount of time each day.

Cartagena 2010 brings back very fond memories. Back when La Dolce Vida was still in Laguito and large enough to move around and not so damn loud LOL. It was also crawling with DEA boys but that sloppy stupid Secret Service agent who caused a scene put and end to those guys having any fun out in the open anyway. I also met a girl during that time period that I kept a semi pro girlfriend relationship with. I met her at what was then Elektra club. She would stay at my apartment for days and only charge me for an ST. She is married now, and naturally cut off contact with me after she got married to a Colombian who she went into the realestate development business with and they seem to be doing quite well.

With only four days I suggest you prepared with some type of orientation before you hit the ground. Below is a link that shows the list of different options SWs / Casas / Strip Clubs etc and the specially made map that shows where a lot of these places are. I suggest studying that. Medellin is so different from Cartagena because it is such a much larger city with so many different options scattered over a much larger area. One of the advantages to Cartagena is it is all compact and you can do everything now within walking distance. Albeit in 2010 when La Dolce Vita was in El Lagutio we would have to take a taxi to get to the clock tower and / or Elektra. Now even LDV is in old town so it is walking distance.
