I wandered all over Poblado and around Parque Lleras late this evening, spent hrs looking for a cab, paid a uber guy double to get me Tomy hotel. I felt perfectly safe in and around Poblado. The young hotties were out in force tonight cause of the game. This is my first time in Mde and Colombia, so far very impressed with the city and people. Will try my first casa visit tomorrow. It seems like young chicas in this town have no problem going out with with way older guys as long as he takes her to a nice place to eat.

I think when most people see "gringo", they think someone from the USA or Canada. None of the three were from the USA Or Canada. One was from Mexico, so no gringo there. The other two were from Israel and Denmark. I have seen reports where the last two were both believed to be involved with drugs and procuring prostitutes. Two dangerous activities in Medellin.

The last one was not killed in Parque Lleras. He was on the corner of calle 10 B and carrera 36, which is in Poblado, but not in Parque Lleras.

I walked Calle 10 several times while in Medellin late last year. It's a major thoroughfare with a lot of good restaurants located on quiet side streets. So one minute you're walking on a well-lit and busy street with people and traffic humming by, and the next minute you're walking on a nearly dark street with very few cars and fewer people. I doubt the murderer and victim just bumped into each other. The former stalked the latter and pounced when the moment was right. Sad.

I'm sure there are foreigners getting murdered in Medellin every month, but I just seen an article saying a gringo was shot in Parque Lleras last week, which I am surprised they would be shot in that area. Then there where 2 killed the week before. It said an Israeli guy was giving sex tourism tour business.

There has been a bit of discussion on the Brazil board about girls with Asian features. I couldn't help but think of the numerous Paisas I've encountered with such features. Aside from the known Japanese presence in Peru, does anyone have any anthropological insight into these features being present in Colombia in particular? Aside from that, are there any straight Asian communities in either Medellin or Bogota that have P4P options? Now, I'm a strong believer in the "if you want X, go to X country" mantra, but there's a certain sexiness to a girl whose language differs from what you'd expect based on her looks.

I saw lots of glue sniffers when I was mongering solo in centro. Those were the scariest people. When they came up from inhaling, they looked like they were on another planet. A few seconds later, they looked like they would kill for that next hit.

But maybe something will change. I think it was about 2-3 months ago that drinking in Parque Lleras, or maybe the other parks also was banned. I was in Medellin myself about 3 weeks ago and I seen for myself that they didn't allow drinking in the park and there were several police permanently stationed at Parque Lleras. At night I seen the cops with what looked like citation booklets to give out fines to people. There were still plenty of people hanging out though, just not drinking.

I wonder if they also banned drinking in Parque Poblado right off of Calle 10 a few blocks down the hill from Parque Lleras. Not good news people getting murdered in Medellin, especially in Poblado. I think it's semester / summer break for schools in Colombia so a BUNCH of girls have gone dark or blocked me on FB because they are on trips with either gringo novios or sponsors and or family too.

When their wallets get thin they'll come back on line. Angelina Ortiz I noticed her page is back up but she has new whatsapps so I assume she's back. Just as an example.

Plenty of fish in that ocean. She just looked like an interesting opportunity and I had heard good things from my other mates.

Yeah I hear 200 k a lot too, but that is like when you go to a car dealership. 200 k is the sticker price on the car. In reality you can easily negotiate down to 150 k even with extras.

The funny thing is that it's cheaper now than 10 years ago! I first started going to MDE 10 years ago. Mansion girls were still getting 150 K COP. Overnight was 250 K - 300 K depending on the girl and how much time TLN included. The exchange rate was something like 2200-2300 COP to the dollar. Look to today. Most Mansion girls are still 150 K COP. TLN has not really changed. But now the exchange rate is 3000 COP to the dollar. Nice deflation.

And I think that's high on the overnight rate (at least until recently). I've stayed at the Mansion 16 (I think) times since 2009. Up until this past Winter, I never paid that much for TLN. However, I only do it once or twice a trip and only with girls I get along with very well.
