Being in Medellin for the first time during the Holidays I decided after my night in Poblado, that I needed to see what ground zero would be like on Christmas afternoon. I got on the METRO in Poblado, and after departing the Industralies Station, it seemed pretty deserted in Centro as the streets were empty in Alpujarra and upon arriving at the Parque Berrio Station, and walking down the stairs, there was a fair amount of people out to my surprise.

I estimate that about 25% of the businesses were open, and on the backside of the Church about a third of the bars were open, albeit not a lot of girls out. I also went down to see what was happening on Avenida de la Grief, and literally none of the bars were open, and there were more people shooting up along the street then girls walking around that area.

When I decided to visit Centro on Christmas afternoon, I envisioned it would be way more subdued than it was, and wasn't envisioning doing a girl, yet thought if one of my spinners was out I might.

And low and behold, one of my spinners named Tatina was out, and I took her upstairs for a rato.

And after about 45 minutes I didn't think I was going to finish, but finally popped to her and my relief.

My saddlebags were literally on empty when I left Poblado in the morning, and I recharged enough to get two loads off on Christmas Day!

In your situation, to resolve the visa issue, I would do one of 2 things.

1. Since you're probably going to be spending a lot of time in Colombia next year, sign up and prepay for 3 months of Spanish classes at EAFIT. Classes are 2 hours daily, 5 days a week and each lasts 4 weeks. Assuming someone is in the office next week, they can get you the paperwork you need to get a 6 month student visa (prepay 3 classes, get 6 months visa, prepay 6, get 12 months). You will need proof of an international health plan, 6 months of bank statements (just the cover page showing balance) and a letter accepting financial responsibility for leaving Colombia. You will need to take a trip to Bogota to get the visa. Once you have the visa, you'll need to get your cedula de extranjero, which you can get in Medellin. For that you'll also need a blood type certificate. When I got mine, it cost 9500 pesos at Clinica Las Vegas. You may still need to leave in 6 months to reset the tourist visa.

2. Grab a deserving chica from your lineup and take a 3 day trip to someplace nice. I'd probably pick somewhere along the Pacific coast, possibly Peru. I'm sure others here have some suggestions.

Just a side note to suggestion 1. The applicant for a visa does not need to physically travel to Bogota to obtain the visa, there is no interview or a requirement to physically go to Bogota. The issue is that the visa is physically put into your Passport in Bogota, because for whatever reason they cannot do it in Medellin. Hence, a courier can be utilized to provide this service, meaning you have to release your Passport to a third party to do so. It's been a while, but I'm sure EAFIT can arrange this.

As far as EAFIT being a good fit for this poster, that's the wild card. As you well know it's pretty regimented at EAFIT, and may not work for this poster.

Getting good seafood in Medellin is problematic to say the least, and is actually more a function of how fresh the fish is versus the eating establishment.

Pesquiera, Rocoto, Mistura, Piqueo (the last three are Peruvian), all the higher end places like El Botanico, oci. Mde, and Carmen have a couple of well prepared seafood dishes on their menus. As other posters mentioned, seafood is not popular with Antioquenos the way it is with Costenos and people from the Caribe.

I haven't been to Medellin in maybe 7-8 years but it seems that things are a bit different. At that time, the ISG was run by Jackson and the board recommended two places above all else: the Mansion (which was owned by an alcoholic? Aussie) and La Mayorista.

Now, I liked the mansion because there was one chica in particular who was amazingly skilled but I could tell that the place was in a death spiral. Two guys there were apparently in heaven due to La Mayorista. So, despite the advice of a taxi driver that it was too dangerous for a gringo, I decided to check it out. There were about 75 girls of whom 70 were skanks. I chose two of them. The first offered me cocaine. When I declined, she helped herself to a few fingernails of powder and I had an accelerated fuck. I decided to take the second chica back to my hotel for TLN. When we got to the room, she did the deed (indeed, she was happy to do BBFS and even bb anal), grabbed some money and took a cab back, looking very forlorn because I had no drugs. First time I ever connected in MCO (Orlando) to get here. Has to spend one night in Orlando, the flight selections sucked. Can't tell if MCO is always a giant-cluster fuck or if it was because of the holiday. Stood in line for over two hours even with TSA pre-check that got me around at least 300-400 people. Not one empty seat on the plane. The only person who asked for my vaccine record was Immigration at the Medellin airport, mine shows 2 shots and a booster they let me through without a ruffled feather as far as Covid goes.

They will make you do it at the airport on your cell phone before they allow you to check in which sucks and you become a noticable clog.

I thought the the tourist visa clock automatically reset on January 1. Boy, did I get that wrong. Since I was already on my last nine days of my second 90-day tourist visa extension for 2021, I have to LEAVE the country again before those nine days expire, and then return in 2022 to restart the 180 days on the tourist visa. Doh! I am retired and have the resources so it's not a disaster but yeah I feel stupid. Can't blame it on drugs this time, been straight for months..

This is the first time I've stayed for the Holidays, meaning from around the first week of December, and will be staying sometime way past the New Year. I have always avoided staying during this time of year in the past, but am actually enjoying it and perhaps should of stayed in the past.

The main differences being that there's more theft at this time of year, things are a bit slower, and I like that; and the biggest issue, at least for me is transportation, with the METRO jam packed, a scarcity of taxis, and the bullshit some of the taxistas are trying to pull as I experienced.

One of my regulars contacted me, I call her "Tall", because she is tall, almost six feet and thin, which I like and she told me she would be wrapping things up with her Family on Christmas eve and was available to spend the night until mid-day Christmas day. So instead of making a pilgrimage to Centro on Christmas Eve, I decided to spend the night at the Cafe Hotel, in the hills of Pobaldo.

I told her to meet me at the Poblado Metro Station at 5:30 PM, and when she arrived, and she is always on time or early, we tried to get a taxi, and the drivers were asking where people were going and quoting fixed prices double and more what the normal fare would be.

One driver wanted 15 K to go three kilometers which normally would be about 7 K, other drivers in the line all quoted 20 K. I jokingly flipped one driver off, and he knew I was fucking with him and we laughed. So Tall said lets walk, and I was already exhausted after swimming in Bellen in the afternoon and didn't want to expend the energy to basically walk three kilometers uphill, and than get jumped in the room by Tall. , so I just agreed to the 15 K.

During transport I asked the driver if he was the owner of the taxi, and he said no, and asked me why I wanted to know. I just told him I was curious, but he knew why.

When we got in the Taxi there was 22,000 COP on the meter, and when we arrived it went up to about 29,000 COP, so he made 8,000 COP in addition to whatever his share would be of the fare, and the owner of the cab got gammed, but I suppose a smart owner might figure out what was going on, regardless the driver knew I knew what he was doing and didn't like it. Regardless we got dropped off, and my mind was already elsewhere.

We had a nicely appointed room which was very modern, a king size bed with nice and soft sheets, a big flat screen, and a private balcony with a view. It was a perfect getaway with room service. And Tall was in heat, and after the first session food was delivered and we drank wine and ate on the Balcony.

After the morning session, we went down to breakfast and then checked out and walked down to the Metro Station.

Most places where closed, except some of the bakery's, and a pharmacy on Calle 10.

I noticed at Parque Poblado, they had City workers out cleaning in the Park which was surprising, and EXITO was open, but at the METRO Station, none of the food kiosks were open.

And Avenida Las Vegas was literally deserted.

I still might make a Christmas Day pilgrimage to Centro in the afternoon, but might not, I can only imagine what will be out there, and my saddlebags are pretty much empty, as I am leche depleted.

I'm on the eighth floor, I snapped this view out the window off the elevators and right down the gullet of Parque Berrio metro station, where you would get off to visit Botero Park and Ground Zero. I've got a corner room with great cross ventilation, but it's shabby, smaller and noisy compared to the room I had here before, but I'm happy, especially with the price. The WiFi kicks ass, the water is hot, safe in room, bed comfy, and for a Colombian hotel room, a surprising number of electrical outlets.

MCO is always a nightmare, especially at holiday time and summer vacation. First time travelers, strollers, Micky Ears. It take take 10 minutes for 1 family to navigate security. Always avoid connecting in MCO at these times. Now that your in pussy heaven, just enjoy!
