But just wanted to point out that Medellin is not Pattaya. I've been to Pattaya twice (latest in Feb. 2020 just before Covid). Chicas in Medellin for the most part (98-99%) don't speak any English, whereas most go-go and beer bar girls in Pattaya can speak and understand it very well. Medellin is also far larger than Pattaya, like 10 x the population and more spread out (Poblado, Laureles, Centro are the main areas). Medellin also isn't as organized as Pattaya. There's a few strip clubs, casas, el Centro and massage parlors, but nothing like the go-gos and beer bar complexes near Walking Street which are more newbie-friendly. That being said. I like the Medellin paisas better than the Pattaya bar girl scene and have generally found performance to be better than Pattaya.

Pick up some basic Spanish and read through the last few months or reports. That should answer 90% of your questions.

LOL so this is my 3 third time going to Medellin within a matter of 8 months. So I guess you can say I am an expert but I feel like I still have not absorbed all that Medellin has to offer. I have noticed lot of people say memorize a couple of phrases beforehand, or use an index card with sentences written on there (looks kind of dumb). So the question is if you were a 20 something AA male with no Spanish how would you approach going to El Centro. I mean I wouldn't be afraid to pull out my phone but me not knowing Spanish really hinders if anything happens and if I have to talk to the policia or get a taxi back to my hotel. I read some post where more experienced mongers tag along, but LOL I'm not sure if any of y'all want to babysit me. I don't mind sticking to FB if it's not worth the hassle.

You perhaps should stick to the Fayboo scene as it has worked for you in the past, and instead of Centro, you might go to the casa's which will be predictable and more accustomed to foreigners, and you won't get robbed at one of them either.

As far as Centro, you actually will be somewhat of an anomaly because of your age, as a lot of the mongers are typically a bit older. I suspect a lot of the girls in Centro will be surprised to be approached by you, and with no Spanish it's going to be a challenge, but can be overcome, but you need to be cautious. Hi everyone, at the risk of being labeled "just another rookie" and being ignored, I still wanted to give this a shot.

I have never been to Colombia (do not speak spanish) but I do have some general mongering experience. Been to a couple clinicas in SP and Rio, been to Kiev for mongering once, was in Dominican Republic a couple months ago (which was very underwhelming) and in Pattaya more than I can count.

How are you getting here? Are you going throught the states? - you will need the quick test to bounce through as well as anything you need for here (I think a PCR test but check the posts Surfer is telling you).

Just to be clear, I think you said it but it wasn't clear. You need to follow the steps that I laid out in the post that I directed you to and be able to domonstrate to the airline and to immigration when you arrive that you are fully vaccinated (booster not required) but if you are returning to the United States you will need test results from a test taken within one day of departing Colombia back to the USA. For this it is recommended that you get the Antigen test because they are quicker PCR test takes much longer. Unless they have changed.
