In my opinion, if you enjoy the strip club atmosphere, sharing a bottle with some friends and doing the boys night out thing, La Isla is great. The service is excellent, the seating is comfortable and it's a good party atmosphere. To me, it's a go early, stay late kind of place. If you're spending money and taking care of your server, he will go and find the type of girls you want. I don't recommend it if you're going solo, or aren't interested in a long visit.

If you just want to go, sort through the girls at a strip club, find one who is good enough, go to Fase Dos. The service is terrible, the seating is torture, but you can often find what you're looking for. It's more of a go solo, go late, pick one and get it on place.

There are also the Centro clubs where you can often find gems, but the rooms suck and there's a good chance you won't find what you're looking for.

Great advice and intel. I run solo so I appreciate your perspective. I'm going to give La Isla another look in a couple weeks. My perfect night is probably go to a strip club, find a girl that I connect with and party with her all night. Certainly not the cheapest route. On my prior visit, I just didn't get a great party vibe. There were two tables with a few gringos that would definitely be classified as weekend warriors. They got off on humiliating the girls with money. Was disgusting, honestly. But boy, they had a huge crowd of girls groveling to join the party. That kind of killed my mood.

Looking for some advice on how to not have a boring ass holiday weekend Dec 23-26, as things will be slow at work.

Options I have in mind:

1. Grab a bang hotel right by Lleras (like Hotel DIX or Hotel Lleras 10 if those are still good?) and try to get Facebook girls there (if that fails, I hope there will be a FEW in the Park on 23rd 24th 25th? Or is that unrealistic?

2. Don't get any sort of hotel, just go to casas? (Do they have a holiday shutdown period?

3. Try to book a room at the Mansion last minute?

Last time I was here around Christmas, I left town by the 22nd so.

It's never happened to me. I read about it on this web site and I also saw it on one of those border patrol type cable TV shows. I don't think it makes a difference unless you have illegal images. It cold also be a problem if you are found with images that conflict with statements you make to officials. An example would be "I've never been to Guatape" and selfies of you with Guatape in the background are found on your phone. To me it seems not so difficult to avoid those scenarios.

You can always sign of for google drive, find a good wifi connection and upload all of it to that cloud drive. The free account has 15 GB free, I pay the monthly for 100 GB which has a special right now for $1. 99 per month.

There is a Chilaquiles in Estadio about one block from the Floresta Metro stop. I was there last month a couple times. As stated above, hand made tortillas and great sauces. I was in CDMX for a couple weeks just prior to Medellin and this place is authentic Mexican food. Try the chilaquiles, top notch.

Your right Knowledge, finding authentic Mexican food in Medellin is a challenge. There is only one, named Chilaques, that used to be located in the Patio Bonito barrio, then moved to the Manilla barrio, and supposedly is now located somewhere in Laureles, and I haven't been there to confirm it's the same owner.

So what was so special about Chilaques. Well for starters they make all their tortillas by hand, they have carnitas and other pork dishes, they have dishes with mole sauces, along with chili verde sauces, and they make refried beans from scratch.

I have not encountered any other Mexican restaurant in Medellin that has dishes with mole sauces.

And what always gets me about the Mexican places in Medellin, is they seem to think Pineapple goes on tacos.

Yeah, I am a little paranoid, I think I should be after my little run it with the policia last time. I am taking the necessary steps but I keep finding fotos buried in files I did not know existed? Jaja, if you play you pay, I get it, don't worry.

I just opened up this site for the first time today, I saw my name mentioned here and there. Sorry I don't have the mental capacity to read through all of it, but I will do it soon. I had back to back foursomes with some of my favorites since Saturday night, tonight I have a business dinner, after that with two super hot 19 year-olds for tln. I haven't stepped outside of my apartment since I got here, except to go buy with my girls (I normally just stay in the car and enjoy the view of the city).

To answer some questions about getting into Medellin, you need a PCR test that cost 200 dollars, just google it. Fill out the form online, it will speed up the immigration line. They didn't ask me for any app.

All I can say is that Medellin is definitely heaven for me, but sadly I think I've gotten too carried away, I received two complaints from the building manager about music, and girls wearing too little clothes coming in and out of my apartment.

Maybe one of two possibilities.

1. an illusion, a figment of our imagination and a frustrated fiction writer in his late forties living in his parent's basement living in Chicago spinning tales about his exploits in Colombia and how he would return including saying that he bought dozens of tickets for flights, was consulting with attorneys, and boasting about his brain power and his physical stamina and abruptly got kicked to the curb a few day's ago by his folks for being such a loser. OR.

2. Upon arrival in Medellin, and I wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall witnessing all this, but he booked a dozen of his 18 year old cheerleaders and it has been overwhelming for him between the cheerleaders sitting on his face all time, while cheering him on too blow loads in the squad every few hours while under the influence of Tussi, Pot, Cocaine, and booze.

I figured out what happened to SJobs. Blakman has multiple personalities and SJobs is his alter ego. Next week he'll have 4 Gusto girls over for $300 each.

In his post earlier PolloNegro mentioned SJobs, I will always wonder what happened to that guy, part of me thinks that once he moved down there he just did not need this forum anymore. But part of me thinks that something sinister may have happened to him. If I were a Colombo / conspiracy type I would focus on that last post where he said he had a "business meeting" later that night? Was it a Godfather style. Someone will call a meeting and at that meeting you will be assassinated style meeting? Maybe I should not be joking about it.

Some people even suggested that he may have not been real person, (Surfer500 and JjBee62 are joking about this in their posts, Surfer500's 1st explaination being the most creative ) but I did enough private messaging with him to say he was most likely real, besides not that many guys get on here and advocate for going to Gustos and paying $200 dollars just for the convenience of it.

I would be curious to know if anyone thinks they do know what happened to him.

Anyone hitting up that party bus set up by the Mansion? Think it's 200 mil for guests and 220 mil for non guests. I've stayed at the Mansion before years ago, but never did their holiday party bus. I kinda miss seeing my fellow gringos hehe, I might try it out just for the heck of it.

Much has been made recently regarding the busy times at La Isla. My one experience was about 9 or 10 PM. I was underwhelmed. But I've since learned that I should target after 12 AM.

Question: will I be disappointed with a 12 AM or 1 AM visit on a Wednesday or Thursday night? (As opposed to a weekend night).

I was there on a random Thursday night 11:30 pm - 1:00 am and left disappointed due to lack of talent. There were probably two or three 8's, but they were busy with regulars / weekend warriors in VIP sections. All others looked average and did not deserve my attention and money.

There's a Ryan Castro (local trap / reggaeton artist) concert in Manrique (Club Zenith) tonight. I'll be there with a few chicas, to those brave souls who want a true paisa party and adventure and absolutely 0 gringos (except for me haha), come through! Invite a chica and you'll def impress her by going vip bottle service. Actually, she’ll be more impressed that you even know about the club and concert. Party goes from 8 pm to 6 am!

Damnit! Orale is the one other Mexican restaurant I was going to mention. They have multiple locations. In Laureles the one you're talking about is about a block west of San Peter, and there's an Orale seafood place right next to San Peter.

And I like recommending specific locations, hopefully the same people are working there as when I frequented the place. Sometimes the quality within a restaurant chain can vary considerably, or even the same restaurant day to day, depending on who's doing the food prep and cooking. I have no experience per se with that in Colombia.

First time poster, long time reader. As I am concluding five months in Medellin I thought I would share what I have been up to.

About me: mid thirties, work remotely, experienced monger, conversational Spanish skills. Not my first time in Colombia. Previously short trips to Bogota and Cartagena.

I stayed in Poblado close to Provenza and Parque Lleras. I highly recommend Lettera Hotel. I do not recommend Dann Carlton, 23 Hotel. Charlee Hotel or Park 10.

I also stayed at the Intercontinental in Las Palmas which I liked but it's not walking distance to Provenza / Lleras. Great restaurant and grill there. Big pool. Gym. Very nice.

Primary hunting ground was Seeking. Lots of girls available. Negotiated up front and then sent them an Uber and had them dropped off directly at my hotel. Very easy. Very efficient.

I spent a lot of time at Parque Lleras when I first arrived. Highly amusing but gets old after a few weeks. Tons and tons of girls on the weekends. It's certainly a sight to see. I recommend the hookah bar with green lights with a perfect view of the busiest corner in the park. Invite a girl up for a drink and send her back if she's not for you. A hundred more are waiting.

Casas: Checked out Newlife but didn't like any of the girls. Paid the viewing fee and left. Went to Spa Energias. Didn't like the line up but picked a young Venezuelan. Never returned to either casa.

Went to Loutron's one night. Small line up. Mostly girls who had been operated on. Not my style but picked a girl. Terrible service. Upsold me but failed to deliver the goods. Had the audacity to ask me for a tip at the end. Do not recommend this establishment.

Checked out La Isla but left within 15 minutes of arrived. The girls started harassing me for tips before I had even gotten a drink and watched a dance.

The girls at the Do Men's Spa below Diez Hotel in Poblado are available for whatever you can negotiate. The massages however are mediocre.

Overall, I had a great time here. I definitely recommend visiting Medellin. Having said that, I prefer la playa why el sol. Headed to the DR next.
