Primero de Mayo the tolerence zone in the south of Bogota, basically another zone like santa fe, but very few gringos dare go there. Been there a few times with colombian friends to check out a compleely different set of girls when we get bored with santa fe, but I don't recommend you go there if you can't speak spanish, stick to chapinero and santa fe.

Take an uber, didi or taxi to Zandaly, New Life, Amigas Sexxy. The last two are easier access from the main boulevard. The employees will help you get a ride back to Poblado. You will spend less and get much more. The catch is you will be exposed to Colombia but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Be sure to get it in before dark (about 6 PM). You can blame me if this eventually leads you into becoming a Centro rat.

If I can get away from my group, I might do a cap ride to New Life, but that is probably unlikely. That said:

I'm probably looking to go to the Rio Sur mall and find a place there. That's just 2-3 blocks from where I'm staying. It sounds like there are a few places on the 4th level that could be of interest. I'm really looking for more than a Happy Ending. Full service, ideally. Are there places there that are more prone to do that, than others? Would I be better off taking an 9 block walk to Jade Palace for this?

I couldn't help but browse the ads on Mileroticos. As a complete gringo visiting Medellin for the first time (that doesn't speak Spanish), should I even attempt this?

The big difference is when in poblado or mongering as a foreigner we are specific targets. Whereas in the USA certain areas are generally dangerous. Look at yourself in the mirror if you don't resemble a Colombian you're a specific target to those that are in the business of drugging, pickpocketing, robbing, etc. If a thief in bello is looking to rob someone then they don't care who they rob. If they're robbing in poblado they're looking for a specific profile to target.

Well said. Comparing two locations comes with so many variables is nearly impossible. We can overcomplicate it. Your point is true and simple. If you fit the profile, you are a target. Uncontrollable. But you can mitigate those risks with any number of the tactics discussed on this board forever.

On a related note, while looking in the mirror. I have a theory. And it's partly common sense. It is wholly unscientific and not much more than speculation on my part. But I think that your size has alot to do with that. Again, seems fairly obvious. I'm generally cautious and aware. But I've put myself in some bad situations on multiple occasions by partying too hard. I'm not bragging; it's embarrasing. But no doubt I was an easy mark. But I'm a bigger guy. I'm not muscular, just heavy. More fuscle than muscle. Haha But generally speaking, I'm larger than latinos. So while I think luck has played a part, I also think that your physical size is part of the equation.

I am assuming you are not hanging out in the ghetto but there is a red light area in South Central Bogota that I went to with another ISGer that was scary as shit and way worse than centro in Medellin.

Fellow Marylander so here you go. Full service massage places on the upper floors of the mall directly across the street from the entrance to the Oviedo mall, which also has a full service massage place. Just a few blocks from Santa Fe. Usually you will get a CMT level massage with extras available.

I fucked up. This is my fault for not understanding the topic. I thought these posts dominating the conversation the past couple of weeks were about guys getting drugged and robbed. I do know a subset of the victims have turned up dead but I did think it was about murder rates in general. I have to own up to not paying as much attention to content here that isn't about girls specifically.

But 50% more is 50% more regardless of baselines. Um 3 vs 2? Does that help? Anyway MDE appears to have a higher homicide rate by all sources.

Colombia corners and Colombia reports, yes this helps me understand your sources. Anyway, I'm a simple guy so my perspective is not complicated. People who have had problems here should seriously consider changes to their routines or trying to get by someplace else. People who haven't had problems should stick with what's working. Crimes happen in big cities. Anyone to whom that is news should definitely get their antenna up.

You might be on to something. Just recently there was a guy on here asking the group to decide between Medellin and Sosua for him.

I disagree. I think tourists tend to compare where they can spend their money amongst different locations to vacation. All things being equal, a guy might be deciding between Medellin and Sosua, for example. If they feel like Sosua is safer, they might pick Sosua, regardless if they come from the Projects on the South Side of Chicago. If a tourist was considering a trip to Ukraine, now might not be a good time, regardless of where you live in the states. People travel to places like Cuba all the time and know it is more restrictive than where they come from, but they compare Cuba to other destinations, not where they come from.
