I've been to OM Spa several times and always had a good experience. I've always gone for the sensual massage and happy ending. I got phone number of one of the therapists and next trip took her to dinner and engaged in sexy time in Airbnb apartment.

I went once to a smaller spa in Rio Sur and ended up having a massage then a wild full service session with an attractive MILF therapist.

I echo TXP's sentiments below. I'm not interested in music or clubs or drinking or nightlife. This is where all the questions I've asked have pointed at as well in terms of wanting to maximize my time with the ladies. I'm only in Medellin for two days (sandwiched between 3 days in Bogota). In Colombia for a total of 5 days and I'd like to experience a minimum of 3 women per day. That might seem lofty but as the old saying goes, "I ain't here for a long time, I'm here for a good time."

For what it's worth, I'm not sure you can count on FS in these places. Been to OM several times and I think each girl is a freelancer. I've never had FS offered. Since I'm usually more interested in a BJ, it doesn't hurt my feelings. LOL But as has been said, their extras prices are really high. One girl asked for 300 k for a HJ. I remember that time slot thing from years ago. After a session as I was getting dressed a girl told I had to wait for her to shower before I could leave. I checked out New Life to just get the check in the box. Attached is the price list. I thought it was interesting the specificity for time slots. The array of girls was dizzying. Medelland's homicide rate is about 50% higher according to one source I looked at. A couple of others, the difference wasn't as much but MDE's rate was higher everywhere I looked. I've been to both and had issues in MDE and no issues in BOG, but of course that is a random sample of one.

Full disclosure, I did not click the youtube links. This is because you can find a youtube video that supports any narrative, so for me posting and viewing dueling youtube videos is pointless.

The simple answer to the question of how dangerous Medellin is "it depends. " It depends on the individual and what that individual does and how that individual moves. Enjoy the Philippines.

Honestly, I just don't know and I doubt that anyone else does. There are so many different opinions online from seemingly sincere people.

This fellow declares that he spent a year traveling through 26 countries and the one place he will NOT visit again is Medellin.

What is safer Medellin or Bogota?? I know a lot depends on you and how careful you are. But for the guys that have been to both, which do you find a safer place? My biggest fear is getting drugged or robbed.

I think the more upscale areas of Bogota are safer than the upscale areas of Medellin.

I am assuming you are not hanging out in the ghetto but there is a red light area in South Central Bogota that I went to with another ISGer that was scary as shit and way worse than centro in Medellin.

I have always stayed in hotels with good security, never had more than a beer or two when I went out, and I never had any problem with safety.

Also, I think because there was so much easy pussy whenever you had that warning voice in your head go off, like your Spidy sense, go off, I would listen to it. I think we all have done dumb things in pursuit of pussy.

I met a dancer in Bogota and banged her. She was hot and great lay, and I took her back to my hotel. I saw her again, and she was like come to my place, I want to cook for you. And I was like no, you cook and bring the food to my hotel. Then I saw her at the club again and she was weird. She was pushing for me to go to her place after I banged her in the club, and I did not go. I never saw her again.

I just felt like she was trying to hard to get me to come to her place and something was just not right about it. I am not sure if she was trying to get me to her place to drug me or rob me, but looking back on things, my guess is she probably was.

Going from Colombian women to Filipinas is going to be a huge letdown for you. The language proficiency was overrated.

Gracias for all your suggestions, they were greatly appreciated. I have been to Sao Paulo, Costa Rica, Bangkok, and several cities in Mexico including CDMX, and never felt unsafe. I will heed your words keep my head on a swivel but will enjoy myself, I am fluent in Espanol, and hopefully that will help.

Perfect summary, well put.

There are no sure fire 100% effective protection measures. There are effective ways to control the risk and, if applied consistently, Medellin can be made as safe as any comparable city. My advice to anyone who is so nervous about it they don't feel they can relax enough to enjoy their time here is to go somewhere else.

I am seriously considering trying the Philippines for my next trip for several reasons, such as less of a language barrier, but also because of the (alleged) crime problem in Medellin.

No offense to TexasPete, sorry TexasPistol LOL, I think anything he posts should be taken with a grain of salt. He obviously has very limited experience in Medellin and is basing his opinions off of hearsay he has read from other posts.

If I remember correctly, his first trip to Medellin was just last month and he severely overpaid, he posted about this in December quoting prices in USD and stating that he was paying $60 usd for short time encounters at casas which he called brothels.

Unless someone has atleast 10 2 week-long trips under his belt or has stayed here for several months at a time, then he really doesn't know what he is talking about. You can't just come here for a few days and visit a few casas / brothels and then proclaim to be a Medellin expert.

If you see a pretty girl walk over and smile and say "Hola!" If she seems very happy to see you, then either you are extremely handsome or she's working. Take it from there. You are looking for companionship, etc.

That's how easy it is in Medellin. When you say hola with a gringo accent and she engages, you basically will f her. I've done that in malls a bunch of times. My success rate was about 50/50. As for sex, I'd say half of them wanted money up front, the other half did not, but I usually take them to nice places to eat and shop, and I would give them 100 mil at the end if our time is great.

Been to both and in both there are druggings and robberies. I have never had either of those happen to me, but I've met several people that have.

I think it's a random shot either one. Depends on where you are, what you are doing, and just random chance. You will get opinions, I'm sure, but I would say they are equal. People's feeling of safety is not a reliable indicator of anything.
