There's so many brands of basic smart phones at cheap prices starting as low as 150 K and I don't remember the brand or model.

There are 2 main differences between cheap and expensive phones: the processor and the screen. If a mf is doing nothing except sending messages back and forth and taking pictures, then obviously there is no need for an expensive processor or screen.

I bought my girlfriend in Brazil a top of the line Samsung phone a few months back. I only bought it because she kept asking me to take pictures and I was like what is wrong with your phone. Come to find out she has had the same phone since way before the 4 years ago when we met and it was fucking up. So I bought her a new phone so I wouldn't have to be bothered to take pictures with mine anymore.

2 days ago I put the Pimsleur audio on her phone so she could learn English. I was shocked to find out she did not even have a media player on the phone, nor has she added any extra memory. She has not even put music on there. I definitely overpaid! The 150K phone that Surf bought should serve the needs of 9 out of 10 chicks.

Strong work. What was the make and model of the basic smart phone, if you don't mind my asking?

There's so many brands of basic smart phones at cheap prices starting as low as 150 K and I don't remember the brand or model. All vendors offer a one year guarantee, albeit it may be a pain in the ass to deal with a phone that takes a dump that isn't from an established vendor like Claro or Samsung and I'm sure there are others where if you walk in with your receipt I'm assuming they will be able to rectify a problem quicker than if bought from cell phone store that sells a lot of different brands. I have two USA I phones I keep locked up in my place, and a Colombian burner phone I carry with me. A lot of the other board members here know lots more about phones here than me.

For anyone contemplating buying a phone here they intend to use on subsequent trips, you should register your phone with the carrier you have such as Claro as an example, you will need to go in with your ID such as a passport. Once registered, if you lose the phone or it gets stolen, you can get your same number back. I did lose my burner phone once, I went to a Claro office, showed them my ID, and it cost me 3 K for a new SIM card with the same number. Also, and I'm a little fuzzy on this, maybe somebody knows this, but if you don't recharge your phone with saldo every two months you lose whatever balance you have and if the phone is inactive for a period of time you lose the number. During the Pandemic shutdown in 2020 I remotely recharged my burner phone every two months to maintain my number, but still am not clear on this, albeit it was $ 3 USD to do so. And every time I add saldo here I get a text message with a new expiration date two months out.

I know that it takes some adjusting to, but I strongly believe its something you can get accustomed to. I have also been to some pretty unusual places. Woke up with a cocktail girl in a mud hut squatter camp in Maputo, got lost drunk driving and wound up parking in a large informal settlement after midnight somewhere between Pretoria and Johannesburg. Sure, it gets your heart pumping the first time when your out of your comfort zone. But I think people are people. Nearly everyone just wants a bit of respect and consideration, no matter where they live. They just want to get on in their lives the best they can. Treat people like with respect and dignity, and they nearly always reciprocate.

Amazing you are a regular reader but not reading other sections. Someone asked in the "Other areas" section. Nobody answered so I did and was willing to walk him to each one. I know of 6-7 preggos. Guy never responded which tells me he is full of crap (not here, no membership, etc). Tomorrow I meet one at 10:00 am who is 4 months along. Want her before she gets too big. Good luck to you and the gurus on this site who seem to know everything. I am not a picture taker but if I remember I will take a tummy picture and post it for you.

Allow me to ask a question. Do any of your have advices on how to screen a Tinder or Seeking Arrangement girl before bringing them to your home or hotel or apartment? I am reading some stories of drugging or the robber when you bring the girl upstairs. Do you have anything tips or tactics that you use to understand if its safe or not? I am thinking its good that my doorman keeps ladies ID. Does that help?

The risks are fairly self-evident. She's your guest and therefore your captive audience and if things don't go well, you're stuck. On the pro side, I spent two nights at her place in Cali. To this day, the most dangerous neighborhood I have ever stayed anywhere in the world, including Third World near ghetto. Strata 1, southside Cali. Some details, just in case it was ever a sting I would always put my keys in the glove box and my ignition key inside my gas cap door and closed it.

Once inside it was obvious it was 2 female cops pacing in the hotel room, I said I wasn't interested I had to leave and go back to work.

As I was walking towards the elevator suddenly 10 guys coming running out of other rooms including wearing FBI windbreakers, they mentioned towing my car, but I said I didn't drive (and yes they checked my pockets for the keys).

So they gave me a $500 ticket, and I promptly threw it away before going home.

I have a girl I have known here for five years. Met her in El Centro, and when we get together, I never pay her more than 50 K for two to three hours. This last week she told me how she qualifies for monthly support from the Government, albeit something like only 200 K a month, but can't because she doesn't have E Mail. She's so poor she only has a burner phone. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and when I met her in El Centro yesterday after hearing her story, and thinking about it, I bought her a basic smart phone for 200 K, had Whatsapp added onto the phone and had her get an E mail address so she could get the Government assistance she qualifies for. I grapple at times trying to understand how poor some of the people are here. It felt great to help her out.
