I fucking hate Colombian taxi drivers with a passion. They are all thieves and scammers and carry around a bunch of counterfeit bills which they switch with your real bills and give back to you. In may of 2022 I reported a taxi driver did this to me but I caught it and told him it wasn't my bill that he was handing back to me and I crumbled it up and threw it on the ground as I was exiting the taxi and then the fucker drove off. He didn't get me for any extra money as per his plan he just didn't give me my change back because the fare was 16 mil and I was paying with a 20 mil when he swapped it and said the bill appeared to be falso and handed it back to me.

After that incident I stopped using taxi cabs except for in very few situations where there wasn't any other options but I'm always very alert if I use a taxi and constantly thinking they are trying to still from me so I pay with small bills and even coins.

Its best to just not use taxis at all period. The best is to use public transport such as busses and the metro. As an alternative I also like to use Picap and Didi Moto. They are safe, fast, and affordable and don't carry around fake cash to steal from people.

The foodie scene (gastronomy as the locals call it) in Medellin is amazing and continuing to grow. A lot of the tourist now coming are foodies and not mongers, as word has been getting out in other cities (where branches of Medellin restaurants have won Michelin awards). It is similar to the early food-scene rise that took place in Barcelona in the past decade or two.

Have to agree with you. You can pretty much do everything in Medellin in one short visit. IMO, the hiking is fun, especially when you extend it beyond Antioquia. But, the mongering scene has declined, especially with the Centro casas and strip clubs falling off. Like Sosua, CR and other places, you can still have fun, especially if you are a newbie. Roll with the punches.

Well, I get receipts every time with my reefer purchases, since it's fully legal where I live.

At least as far a Medellin goes, the proportion of mongers is probably higher. I have seen estimates that about 300,000 US tourists and 100,000 European tourists visit each year. I can't see any reason to visit other than sex. I don't want to insult Medellin, however there isn't any amazing art or architecture, there's no beach, no ancient historical sites. Is it worth a special visit just to see the Comuna 13 graffiti? The mountains surrounding Medellin look amazing and would be great places to go hiking and backpacking. They also look like great places to get robbed and murdered. During my recent two week visit I saw a couple of fair skinned obviously foreign young men accompanied by very attractive fair skinned girlfriends. I felt like like asking these men "Why are you here?" Maybe they want a threesome with paisa? I'm really curious.

About safety, this is my advice: Check into your hotel or airbnb. Take an Uber to and from brothels. To find them, click on this link.

    https://co.mileroticos.com/escorts/a...in/buscar-spa/

Or google Salones de Masajes Eróticos Medellin.

    Or read this forum.

You'll have a great time at a reasonable cost and the chance of anything terrible happening is almost nil. You'll only be on the street to visit nearby restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and ATM machines and I would suggest doing that before about 9:00 am or 10:00 am if possible. Criminals are not early morning people. And as far as ATM's go, because of the robbery risk, I would use them sparingly. Almost every place I went, including the brothel and the supermarket, accepted Visa.

    3 Months Trip Report Summary!

What's good fellas. I've been in Medellin since Sept 12 and still here and rocking. I've slept with 85 women of which 95 of them are pregnant from rawdogging, had 3 operations on my dick when it almost fell off, currently engaged with 12,5 moved in my 2 bedroom apartment, including 2 of their babies, one mother, and 3 dogs, and fellas I am living the dream. Ok now that humor's out of the way here's my trip summary so far:

ARRIVAL AND LODGING: Here in fact since 9/12, and everything's been cool for the most part. I work remotely so I found a great co-working apartment that accommodates with business grade internet that doesn't go down, good speed, and able to use my own router which I must. Since then I've been researching and I notice Medellin is a great city for digital nomads obviously, where even if you stay in a hotel / airbnb with no work setup you can easily lease a professional co-working space or office around the city for a low daily / weekly rate. Not every country offers that and even here in Colombia those aren't available everywhere. As I plan to continue traveling to various countries and stay away much longer, Medellin and Bogota are definitely on top for the list for the nomad lifestyle.

TOURIST VISA UPDATE: I applied for my visa renewal after my 3 months deadline last week and was extended to 6 Months. The process was quite simple, I got a reply and approval within 2 hours of applying even though it was 2 am. I received an approval email, along with a receipt for either an online payment or at a specific local bank. Paid the fee 125 k at the bank and within minutes later I received my official Visa letter. I am thinking about applying for their digital nomad visa (it's new), and if approved it will be for up to 2 years. You will hear different info about this visa, and it's because some are approved only for 6 months, and others for up to 2 years. For fksake the valid info's on the migracion website. I mention this bc while here I've had too many arguments with dumb weekend gringos on this LOL. No need to get into extra details like you must purch an insurance policy (some of yall call it a tax LOL), costs less than 250 k pesos a year, then if you stay for longer than 6 months you may have to start paying income tax. That part got me and I wouldn't want it just for that since you must show your bank statements and income as a nomad to prove your income, and whatever tax they say you owe you may not have a choice. We know all the tax loopholes from the states, how to reduce liabilities w loss reports / deductions etc and screw the IRS, but shit might be different here. In my opinion other forms of visas like a business grade visa might be cheaper for a permanent stay vs that digital nomad visa.

SAFETY: OK, I haven't been in this forum for a couple months, and I'm not surprised that most of the recent posts have been about safety and problems here in Medellin. They are all true, and anyone especially newcomers reading should follow our advice and take extreme precautions. As a matter fact there are many many better destinations where you don't have to watch your back so much. Before you ask why I haven't left yet, well, unlike many others I'm here to work, needed a place w great weather, close to Florida, and the abundance of pussy is just a bonus. And honestly if I wasn't already set up here and working comfortably I'd prob go elsewhere. Working on some urgent projects and it's a small sacrifice to stick around a while before I travel again, and can't fucking wait to get the fuck out of here; hopefully right after the holidays.

I'm leasing an apt here in Belen near Laureles and I'm nearly invisible or in stealth mode. Only people who know me are the few restaurants / grocery stores I frequent. Otherwise I move like a Ninja. I stay the fuck away from El Poblado, I am dating a local girl, and the few Tinder dates that I had I ensured to meet them at random spots, food-courts, or give them an hourly motel address if they're a prepago and we already made a deal. I don't bring no-one to my apt that I haven't met first at someplace else and vibed.

Forget for a second what I wrote above about this city being great for remote work and living. While this may be true and they have the set up, it is also becoming very dangerous. Now here's the deal, like many others are stating, if you stay away from the WGs, Tinder, Lleras, Threesomes offers, Ask for IDs, you will be fine. Well those of us who could make this place home and navigate safely do these things. Especially if you're visiting long-term, you can easily slip up so it's wise to not let your guard down.

Even with my experiences and extreme carefulness I still encountered a couple of incidents:

A tinder date drugged my drink as I went to the bathroom. But it was a test from me when I left the drink unattended at the bar we went, and watched her put something in it. When I wanted to leave she got super aggressive and tried to force herself in my taxi. I told the driver I'm not with her and walkd out, went to another taxi and she still did the same. I did pretend to drink from the tinted shot and she thought I was fckd up when I was sober. When she continued to force herself on me, like tried to grab me, I pushed her very hard while standing outside of the taxi, and she nearly fell, that's when she realized I wasnt affected yet. I askd the taxi driver to call the police and the fucker was laughing, so I walkd back to the bar / club to get help by having them call the police, and she ran off LOL. I also didn't want to pay her own taxi for her to go home and she claimed I was responsible LOL. I laughed and told her I'd rather go to jail, aint no way I'm responsible for your fucking taxi after you tried to drug me. There's no such law in Colombia I told her, and let's see what the police say when they come. That's when she ran.

She wasn't a WG and still there were many red flags that I ignored even before meeting her. I was really bored that night and after a long week of work and I said fuck it why not. I can't dodge bullets but I have dodged many attempts and scams, which many could've been totally avoided but at the same time I don't allow fear to dictate my life. One thing I feel very lucky about is that I never get drunk, and totally drug-free. Meaning all my brain cells are intact LOL. The few events that I'm sure I completed prevented are when I ask for IDs and they refuse, date immediately cancelled; I often get threesome offers, or her friend will tag along. Like first of all I don't know you, what make you think I want to meet you and buy you dinner and drinks, and also buy your friend which I'm not interested in dinner and drinks? I would write that and cancel LOL. Basically I try my best to not think with my dick first. Like I cannot put anymore emphasis on this, these girls do get aggressive and persistent with their threesome offers. Also never meet if you barely had any conversation or they immediately want to meet for drinks. Even if I do want to go out I would say no to test their patience, and most would get mad and ignore or block you LOL. Congrats you are alive. So don't do it. Talk to your dick and tell this little guy to be patient. Interview these chicas, make video calls, ask for IDs if they look 22 and under, Or better yet learn some spanish and only meet women in person. Even El Centro is safer than Tinder.

The other minor incident that happened which is totally my fault was that I got robbed 50 k mil pesos by a taxi driver. I handed over a 20 k bill, I think he tored it up a bit and said he couldn't take it, was a very small tear you barely notice. Then I handed him a 50 k bill, he went down to his bag and swapped it with a fake 50 k bill and said he had no change. Then accepted the 20. I didn't realize till later that day he gave me back the fake 50 k bill. Later that day a local waitress friend told them to be careful at small stores also since they do give you fake changes also. I normally warn newbies on this and it happnd to me all cause I slipped. And can easily happen when your here too long. You are still living among thieves, or people making less than $10 a day, and those are the lucky ones since most are unemployed. If we keep those things in mind as soon as we step outside, we'll be fine. I'm perfectly ok and accept my fate to remain paranoid in medellin once I'm out in this shithole of a city. My life is totally worth it I think.

THE GOOD: Couple nice girls have been taking care me. Focusing mainly on one now but been w 3 gfs so far. Two semipros from SA, one decided to confess she was pretending to be a non pro and she wants to go back and fuck for money. Said had urgent money problems, I guess I wasnt giving her enough. Has child custody problem with ex-husband who has her children and put her on child support LOL. Yes that was shocker for me too. She only has the kiddos on weekend, univeristy student, 27, and would spend days at my spot, doing homework while I work. We did have a good time but I don't miss her since she was pretending not to be a WG LOL. Other SA chica was from over a year ago. Real GF treatment when she's with me, but done w her since she kept trying to get me to buy her a condo, a motorcycle. Like she's too demanding. Best pussy I prob had here but damnnnnn I aint bobo the fool. Since she has two jobs, I ask her at times when you go to work, do you get paid first before you work for one or two weeks? That would end all arguments and demands for that day. Because she would say shit like if I pay for her university, buy her a house / condo, she would stop hooking on SA, and only be loyal with me LOL. She has the delusions I should prove my love that way LOL, I think she's on hard drugs and denies that.

Sometimes I put her in her place and shame her hard to stop. Like be. Tch look, if you want to change your life, you will do it for yourself and stop selling your body, this would be YOUR choice, then maybe if I or some other guy want to be with you they will find you as a normal woman. But no one ever truly give up a habit good or bad for someone else, you will change for yourself first. Otherwise once my money run out, you'll go right back on the streets, whereas if you changed for yourself, money or not, men or not, you will keep that change. So don't play me for stupid, remember I'm older than you. We'd have these little chats, and I sometimes wonder if these women here in Colombia think Americans or Gringos in general are all stupid. Or, the real question is, are there men falling for those scams? And because of those simps they think we're all the same? Like be. Tch for real. First you do the work, then you get rewarded. First be a good girl, then receive the fancy gifts. Anything in reverse is delusional. Anyway had to let that toxic one go, even though she's fine as hell.

Continuing w a low profile, with only one regular chica that I met at a restaurant, then occasional visits in casas or trip clubs. By regular it means someone you can go watch a football game with, go dancing, invite to your place, watch netflix, spend nights, etc. I have been to El Poblado and Llera like 5 times only, and each time has been bc of buddies that come in town for a week or so. Same with El Centro, visited last weekend, Fri. / sat around 6-9. Dude and I both bagged several, couple from barra and h grill. There's always someone for everyone in Centro. I don't know how many times I write this. 8/10 chicas you see walking around Llera go to centro in the day (the street llera girls.). I always prove it to dudes and show 'them like remember her last night asking for 100 usd /400 k? She's giving it up here for 30 k /$8. Always fun when they remember you also LOL. One of them lied said she was there to buy shoes for her son LOL, and then buddy and I watched her get picked up 3 times within less than hour from her corner LOL. I guess she was embarrassed cz she tried acting all classy in El Poblado night before. I normally can tell when at the park, but this one almost fooled me, took her number at Llera then deleted it once I saw she's a 30 k WG. OG or not we always like new discoveries LOL.

I met couple fellas from my flight since Sept., one is married and living here 5 years, those dudes are cool af and they also keep a low profile and have zero safety issues. Clearly the problem of safety is mainly for men seeking fun, girls, drugs, drinks. Otherwise Medellin is still appealing and I do hope things get better although it's getting worse first. Like now we got stabbings? Something unheard of before. Or the organized set up / kidnapping of which several got arrested from some sort of ring couple weeks back.

Have fun but be careful yall. I can't wait to gtfoh and heading to SE Asia, Africa, and Europe. Trying to stay safe and normal as much as possible and out of the highlights.

Here is an update that just came out. It looks like this wasn't done by Venezuelans; it was done by the Parceros not the Panas.

    Follow along.

I remember that other Asian dude got killed from a Tinder outing about a year ago. I have noticed more Asians around town. Just saw a group around CC San Diego earlier today.

The guy is not going to do anything about it because that would be silly. We don't know what the real situation is and as mongers, we should not care. We can't get involved in these types of things because they involve violent criminal elements. Don't you watch those movies where a nice guy tries to rescue a girl from her pimp and his life is destroyed? I think it's called True Romance. Also you are only hearing it from her side and it may be true or not true. It could just be an agreement between two parties in which one party does something for the other party in exchange for certain promises.

Well, she did sign some contract apparently and has the papers, so maybe there is clause in there about cancelling early and the costs / penalties for it, no idea, not sure if this contract is something that's even honored by her handlers, probably not. The only way it could be honored would be probably if a buyer is someone that is also plugged in to the crime world, having enough connections not to be pushed around.

Anyway, that is the first girl I've met that mentioned she's on 10 year contract, up until now I was always meeting independent girls, afaik at least.

    Yeah it's crazy.

I am not sure what you mean by "support costs". You don't live here so you should just do pay per meet. You can post picture and maybe someone can compare it to their portfolio and tell you how much that girl will cost. There is a premium on the price quoted by Seeking so you want to avoid that. If you can find similar type of girl on Facebook, you should user Facebook price as a reference. If you can find her in Centro, then you should use Centro price for reference. If you can only find the girl on Seeking, you pay according to how much you want her and how many men are bidding for her service. You should expect to pay a premium for beauty regardless but that is rare.

That being said, you can take precautions and not increase your risk of being a victim of crime. Colombia has always been dangerous. Even before I made my first trip in early 2000's a friend of mine had gone and related his experience to me of having to jump out of a moving car to escape a kidnapping. I still visited and after about forty visits in all I have had three bad experiences, one where a chica in a casa tried to steal from my pants while I was in the shower after the deed, a chica attacked me in Botero plaza and a guy tried to grab my cell phone from my hand in Centro. Apart from having a shopping bag stolen while I took a photo in Frankfurt, Germany I have had no bad experiences in any of the forty odd other destinations I have been to.
