That is really good to hear. I have a flight on Viva too. Now I may have to decide if I want to go to Bogota earlier on Spirit or go right to MDE with Viva later that night. I probably will go earlier. I would rather pass the time in Colombia than Florida.

Thanks, SJobs, and hey when you fill out that form here that is required to be filled out before you go, https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.c...reregistro.jsf, can you let us all know if there are any surprises? I doubt there is, but I would just like to know.

Someone called those of us going the canaries in the coal mine. Shit, it is more like the first penguins to jump into a sea loaded with the most tasty fish in the world. Tall Man and others have been going on about how great it is, and I just cannot get over how many people still fear so easily what the media tells them to. In a few months, everybody is going to be pretending that they said what I said about Covid.

Steve, there are a few other things. With Covid, while I appreciate your sense of adventure, Covid is very real, and while it probably would not kill you, it can hurt you and possibly permanently. Thing about people with Covid is, and I know this may surprise you, but they actually look sick. You have a girl that is coughing, running a fever, bloodshot eyes, then stay away. Somehow this bullshit has been spread that people with Covid may not know they have it and can give it to you. That is just so rare as to almost not be true. You do not have to get into any of the symptoms unless you want to. If the girl does not look sick, then have your fun. Worrying about an asymptomatic woman giving you Covid is like worrying about getting struck by lightning.

Also, if you could, tell me where you are staying and if they have an open gym. I am probably going to be staying at the Marriott and I am going to call them and see if the gym there is open. I do not think the free standing gyms in Colombia are open (someone correct me if I am wrong), but I know the gym at the Marriott in Santa Marta is open, and I think the one in Medellin has an open gym as well. That is important to me, and the chicas I know are dying to get a chance to work out.

The two "inauguration" flights you speak of as related to the official source are both associated with Cartegena, not Medellin.

"For that day on Saturday, September 19, the first flight of the Spirit company is scheduled to arrive, from Fort Lauderdale, in the United States, which will arrive at the Rafael Núñez airport in the city of Cartagena at 12:37 pm The second flight, operated by the Colombian company Viva Air, it will leave the same terminal bound for Miami at 11:40 am".

That said your Medellin flight might still be good. Good luck.

The proper term for permission to enter a country is called a visa, with a US passport, you don't need a visa to enter Colombia. As far as I know, they have not changed this.

You still miss what I say. So I give you examples. Regular immigration rules have not been valid in the last 6 months.

US citizens do not need a visa to enter Europe, but still they cannot enter Europe without 14 days quarantine.

European citizens do not need a visa to enter Indonesia or Singapore, but still they CANNOT enter there without a special authorisation (permission) granted upon providing sound explanation of the reason of the essential travel. In Singapore, in case permission is granted, 14 days quarantine at traveller expense is enforced. I may enumerate many such examples in the world.

You might take advantage of the lack of coordination in Colombia, and I wish you good luck, but I still did not see an official statement about the rules to grant permission to enter Colombia. I suggest to check with the Colombia Embassy in USA. Also, I understand that being allowed to return to USA easily or not for you is not an issue.

Good luck is what I can tell you! (but be careful).

Amazingly irresponsible and dangerous to whom?

As for me, I could get COVID here or there. I try to be careful, but there is no guarantee. But while I am cautious, I am not going to be like some who are paralyzed with fear (e. G. , Howard Stearn). I do not want to live life this way. I stand as much chance of getting COVID from one of my students at the university as with a Colombiana I know well. At least in my opinion.

I really don't care, as long as she knows how to fuck. Quality solely relates to looks as I'm describing it. I also hope for quality skills.

But Mr. E, seriously, you have been around long enough to know that there are reasons why some of these girls do not graduate on time. Maybe they started late. Maybe they missed a year of school because of their home situation. Maybe the girl was sick at one point. I did not ask her. But I'm not ready to judge her intelligence only by the fact she's finishing HS this fall. Think of how many chicas in CO never finish school or end up going back to school at 22,23, or later to finish.

    El Centro Update

New Life is opened, apparently has been since the 31st of last month. One of you is supposed to wear a facemask all the time! They do request that you shower, which is a good idea anyway. Rates are the same as before the shutdown.

Turcos Paradise is closed with a For Rent sign on the door. Was one of my favorite places.

Land border is already opened for residents.

I think SJobs and CL may slip thru the crack amongst the confusion before the door is shut again or become more restrictive. Good luck to both!
It's interesting what's happening looking at this from available airlines and flights to the Country. COPA sent me a notification that flights would be resuming into Medellin on October 12 and I have been looking at flights. I also decided to see what Avianca had available, and no flights from the USA to Colombia as of yet.

So this is all peculiar in that only Spirit is the way into the Country for the time being? And Spirit of course does fly into Medellin. Almost sounds political somehow with CTG being the first gateway City into the Country. Or perhaps it's because of the higher tourism there.

As far as tourists versus foreigners being allowed into the Country, I highly doubt migracion is going to barring anyone with the PCR test and requisite paperwork on the first "commercial flight" back into the Country. And the airlines will not be allowing any one to board unless all the required paperwork is in order.

So we will all just have to wait until the 21st for the BM's booked on this flight to report back. I suspect we may all be making a mountain out of a mole hill on all this as it's just more paperwork, etc. To travel besides all the security stuff.

Have many things opened up in Medellin for people to do outside of wherever they are sleeping?

Whats you plan for when they close the. Air space back up within weeks of opening--like almost al nations have had to do since travel creates virus spikes.

I am still not convinced they will be letting American tourists in. It is amazingly irresponsible and dangerous. We shall see.
Like many BM have said multiple times, there are a ton of much more dangerous things with much higher likelihood of occurrence associated with mongering. Worrying about getting Covid while mongering is like a solider worrying about getting hit by lightning while dodging bullets on the battlefield.

Disclaimer, I'm in my 30's and very healthy; I run marathons and I get the flu once every five years (I never take the flu shot), so the chance of me having a serious reaction from covid is very low, it's a waste of time to worry about it. I will do my best to respect the safety protocols laid out by the officials, I will not actively trying to spread Covid by hosting or participating in large gatherings. But I will continue mongering, people who worry about to getting infected from mongering should stop monger.

There is a number of people who really need such flights, beginning with Colombia citizens stuck abroad or foreign citizens stuck in Colombia who desperately want to go back home, but regular travellers for tourism are not allowed..

I appreciate that, Nounce. I am booked for the 23rd on Spirit to Bogota from FLL and later on Viva to Medellin from Miami that same day. They were both around $150 and I booked the Spirit ticket just two days ago, and it let me book it from FLL but not other cities. The CTG flights were in the $400+ range, so I passed on them even though it seems CTG seems the most receptive to international flights right now.

One of my chicas wanted to go from Barranquilla to Medellin. She was scared of my booking her on Viva air due to frequent cancellations but it was the cheapest and only direct flight to MDE (there was one to EOH? In Medellin), and she got on the plane and to MDE no problem. That tells me the airports are functional now.

This form needs to be filled out prior to going: https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.c...reregistro.jsf.

I tried to fill out but I could not as of yet. Maybe I can tomorrow and say I am on the Spirit flight to CTG that is leaving on the 19th and see if there really is a move to block those of us not engaging in "essential travel". I have not seen that anywhere though, and I seriously doubt that such an order is in effect.

On the Medellin guru site post here,https://medellinguru.com/international-flights/ this is what I read, Colombia plans to resume international flights to Colombia starting in September with flights planed to resume over a period of three months starting with a pilot in September and a return to "normalization" with tourists in November.

I take that to mean Colombian officials do not expect a lot of tourists given how few flights there are not that tourists are banned from going. We shall see.
