The excitement has evaporated.

Lockdown extensions and this lengthy international extension has defeated my spirit. Definitely

Spirit has had several humanitarian flights as reported by Knowledge from Florida to Colombia, however I am beginning to wonder whether if those flights might cease, or be banned by the Colombian government, or somehow the USA stops accepting flights from Colombia.

I say this because Brazil might become shut-off by the USA, and people coming from the USA with so many COVID cases might not be accepted at all in many Countries, no different than how the USA has not been allowing travelers from other Countries.

So even if Colombia does open up Internationally in September, the USA may be blackballed and there might not be any flights to and from the USA.

Given how Colombia has acted thus far in the handling of the Pandemic, I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a no fly list of Countries with the USA on the top of the list.

So I won't be seeing Colombia until September for the earliest. I have been taking the opportunity of this hiatus to learn Spanish so I expect my experience to be enhanced in my next visit.

It was just announced international flights will no be open until after August 31.

The Spirit fares have been US $400 one way Medellin to Ft. Lauderdale. It's pretty steep but they have no competition.

If you really want to leave get a refund from Copa and watch the Spirit web site for flights to Ft. Lauderdale. The last one that was available was May 30 but it is now sold out. Check every other day or so and another couple are likely to open up. You can also register on the US Embassy web site to receive alerts about the flights.

Actually mongering is alive and well in Tijuana my old stomping grounds albeit the border is technically only open for commerce but it also encompasses dental work, etc. The guys I know typically just drive in, check into a hotel, and have their Chicas visit them, and there also are some SG's working in Cauhilla.

Yeah, that's exactly what I've been doing. Haven't had any issues at all aside from a couple of asshole border patrol agents with too much spare time.

I booked a flight with cops then to find out they suspended flights til June 20. I had to book another airline. I'm single handedly trying to keep the Los Algodones thread alive. I just read that the soft border closure has been extended to June 22nd, so I hope that doesn't impact my ability to get in to Mexico to see my girl, but who knows?
