My best conquests of this trip have been from SA. Younger, better-looking, "semi-pros" if there is such a thing. The only thing is, it's not a quick-hitter like FB / WhatsApp / ME / etc. You have to connect, message, exchange info, etc. Then, add in Pico & Cedula, general fear from her parents & grandparents whom she lives with about corona, police, etc. And you get a less than ideal situation for a small window of opportunity.

The Czech Republic is open for international arrivals and departures since mid last week according to a report I saw on the BBC. There are not many places to go of course. I think Sweden is also open.

This is great news, apparently the Czech Republic is not letting everyone in but is requiring a negative test result upon arrival and Sweden is one of the few Countries that has taken the "herd immunity" approach so as not to ruin their economy.

It will be interesting to see how Colombia opens back up.

I don't think face mask is very practical or likely to be effective. If I understand the nature of of transmission correctly the face mask protects us from walking into airborne droplets containing the virus. Hence the emphasis on social distancing and avoiding handshakes and embraces..

There actually are face masks that are extremely effective in both protecting you from contaminated airborne (virus) particles and maintaining social distancing. And the best part is a lot of guys already have several pairs of them.

Spirit cancelled my June flight. Oh well, I guess I will never get to Colombia. It was under 200 dollars. Now flights in July are in the mid 300's. When do you think this shit will be over..

Bought round trip for September with all insurance options. So I can reschedule or postpone for free. All together ticket, insurance, and checking bag was $490. We will see how it goes. Hopefully clears up by July. Keep us posted.

I envision for any Country to truly re-open, especially ones dependent on tourism, they must not have a 14 day quarantine period requirement for entry. Hence short of a vaccine and certification, some Countries may allow people in if they are tested immediately before boarding a flight or upon arrival which is currently taking place in Japan and Singapore but they are still requiring a 14 day isolation period which will be the impediment for tourism to resume. So as an example, I imagine someone going to a major airport, say LAX as an example, going to a remote parking lot, getting tested, and if negative taken to the International terminal for departure. I know Emirates is testing passengers before boarding flights from Dubai so I see something like this in the future.

So as far as getting back to Medellin, which is the big question, who knows as you have pointed out as we are all stuck in limbo.
