Depending on how you transfer your money there, it can take 2 weeks to get to the brokerage account and a couple more days from there to your. Checking account so plan ahead.

I opened a checking account which included a brokerage account with it to get the ATM card. Wrote a check that is deposited into the checking account. However long it takes to open the account. Once open I use the ATM and checking at will. Nothing ever goes into the brokerage account. So what are you talking about "transfer your money there" and "two weeks to get to the brokerage account"? As LoveItHere69 pointed out, a brokerage account must be opened, but you do not have to have money in it. I have two brokerage accounts and two checking accounts with Schwab. They pay interest on the money in my checking account, a better rate than my other bank pays. So, not only are ATM withdrawals free, they pay me to have the money there to withdraw. I think the waiting period for transfers from the brokerage account depends on what you have in the brokerage account. If you have it in stocks and bonds, then there is a waiting period. If you have cash in the account, there is no waiting period, at least there wasn't for me.

SeekingHead mentioned that the ATM exchange rate is the rate posted that day. I have been using the Schwab card for more than three years, and I have never received that day's rate. It lags one or two days. That is good because if you see the dollar falling, you can take more money out at a higher rate.
