The government announced a shut down tonight for Antioquia starting tomorrow at 7 pm and continuing until Tuesday. No more arrivals or departures from Monday in Colombia, including Colombian nationals. 0.

I don't know if you guys are still keen to come down here but I feel the mood changing. Had a few chicas over this week and they are all worried about the virus. I have 24 hour porteros in my apartment block and two of them are going to live here during the shut down to make sure they are on duty. The vibe towards extranjeros is changing, 40 were deported today for breaking the isolation period.

Yes the prices could be cheaper right now but from tomorrow at 7 pm until Tuesday you can't even be in the streets let alone have a chica over. I'm trying to fly out on Saturday, Medellin right now is not the place to be, if you somehow make it down here be prepared to have forced quarantine in your hotel for 14 days and a bunch of nervous chicas on your hands.

Is a very very very serious situation now around the world. Here in USA Every state I have read of except some parts of FL have shut down all bars, dine in restaurants, movie theaters, and public gathering places expect vital gas stations, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals etc.

CA is in complete lock down don't leave your home status and NYC talking about it.

Yes for someone fresh into Medellin and needing to return in 1-4 weeks or more would be hellish if not impossible to get out. However if fresh in and planning to stay there a long time do the "14 day quarantine" in your apartment and if you know not sick start calling the chicas over to your apartment. They banning visitors to private residences down there? Saying this not if you are in hotel but any of the private rental apartments.

Or if live down there permanently man you are in heaven just give them a COVID-19 swab test!

Also they sayin younger people not as risk however I have heard on my local news (DFW area) and the major media channels that youngers can still develop serious side effects especially if they have auto immune issues and / or other chronic health conditions.

I never was one too get too close to people especially in bars where there is less inhibition however the nice casas I feel wouldn't be so much risk since is a controlled environment.

I think you would regret shacking up with a girl for three days. I think you would also have a hard time getting one to agree to it unless she is homeless, which brings me back to my first statement about regret. My advice is to lean on your contacts or the escort services. Rappi is operating so I'm sure those services are as well. The streets did empty pretty quickly starting at 5 PM. Oddly enough, I changed my flight from March 18 to April 18. Now, I get a credit, but not sure how it will work. They changed my flight for no fee, originally. So, I'm not sure if I will get $150 towards a $600 flight in late-April / May, or what. I don't feel like sitting on hold, any time soon. I had the pleasure of doing that a few days ago.

I have some local friends, and all of them are scared straight about the quarantine. I half-heartedly offered to host a BBQ for 1-3 people, maybe to see the reaction, and everyone either thought I was kidding or tried to implement their own coronavirus thoughts on me. Some working girl (from my November / December reports) was recently in Cartagena, working, and went back home to her sister's. Today, she was basically telling me that the coronavirus is spread by white-yellow-brown-black devil tourists. She said Colombia has it because tourists come and don't know they have it. I said, every country aside from China had it arrive from some one, right?

Ok, enough BSing. I need to decide in the next couple of hours if I want to have a girl stay for the weekend. The Conejitas Vennie wants to come over, but I don't know if I want her here for multiple days. Another from earlier in my trip said she'd come over, this weekend. Quarantine means 2 weeks with no one. Or two weeks that everyone who is together stays away from everyone else. If you get someone in the last two days of your quarantine then both of you would have to stay another 14 days.

I won't miss New Life but I was really bummed out that Botaniko shut down earlier this week. The New Life closure makes sense to me because of the high percentage of foreigners who frequent it. The same is true of food and beverage places in Poblado and Provenza. We saw many of them shut down a week or more ago. The talked about protecting the health of the republic but I think it is more about a big part of their clientele no longer patronizing them.
