This is very true. I see Colombians walking in El Centro using their phones. I once pulled out my Samsung S6 in public and two guys tried to grab it from me, foreigners are particularly vulnerable. Beware of advice from guys who say its ok to walk in El Centro late at night.

There is a robbery statistic that El Centro is first on the list followed by El Poblado. The main reason is because these two areas have more tourists.

The notion that Chicks who work the El Centro street scene, and then leave to go other places like Parque Lleras just doesn't make any sense at all. Why would a Chica who could make 150 K in Lleras work for 30 K in El Centro.

It makes plenty of sense. I have seen it countless times in various countries where a chick gets money in a cheaper place during the day and goes to a more expensive place after. A hooker with a pussy can work anywhere pussy is sold.

You said the magic words "could make", not will make! There are way more people in the market to buy a Toyota than buy a Rolls Royce. (Way more locals strolling downtown than foreigners strolling Parque Lleras). So where you may hope to sell 1 RR per month, you know you can always go over to the Toyota dealership and get plenty of cars sold. You still have to eat.

The other day I bought an air fryer from Kohl's. When I got to the counter and the lady rung it up it said $179. I showed her where it was only $159 on their website. She said the prices are always different there. Why would they sell it online for $159, when they could sell it in the store for $179? They can and do do both! Not many people going into stores these days, but there are plenty going on the website (where prices are in general cheaper) everyday.

P. S. The chicks that I have seen walking around Parque Lleras selling pussy DO look like fish out of water. You would not confuse them with any of the locals that are there to party and hang out with their friends. They walk around the park in circles to try to get a monger's attention. I would not exactly call that catering to foreigners. And just because you see them underdressed downtown does not mean they do not know how to change clothes before they go somewhere else. Definitely, I did not mind to walk around the Centro at night, when "odd characters" (the gringos) are not around. But I have nearly nothing with me, I keep all 4 eyes open, and I keep distance from any group of 2 or more guys.

All due respect Mr. E, but being street smart in the USA isn't going to apply in Medellin late at night, let alone during the daytime in the El Centro. I personally know two gringos who in broad daylight where accosted by guys with knives who actually cut their shirts and pants in an attempt to rob them. In both cases, the common denominator was that they were obvious foreigners and fortunately neither one of them got cut up or anything taken.

Another scenario for others to consider, if they are an obvious foreigner, is that if you are in El Centro late at night walking around when all the businesses are closed and the streets are pretty much deserted, you will stick out like a sore thumb and attract attention. If a group of Malandros see you, they will follow you, corner you, and rob you. Nobody is going to be around to call 911 and summon the cops when they get done with you.

Walking around Avenida de La Grief, the bars on the same street as Hotel Nutibarra, and the bars behind the Church late at night when the bars are open, and people are out on the sidewalk should be okay for most gringos, however, walking around the Veracruz Church area and side street is not a good place to be late at night. These areas are dark, deserted, and a perfect place to be robbed.

For those foreigners / gringos who can't pass as Colombians, meaning you obviously don't belong, you should be of the mindset that there is a big "X" on your back at all times and should never let your guard down, as you are the perfect target for the Ladrones. Not only at night but during the day as well, so being street smart may be helpful, but your at disadvantage being a foreigner.

I will add that I don't think the chicks in centro go to other places much. For those that go to other places, depending on where they go, they have to change their hair, makeup, or clothes. Otherwise, they will appear out of place. I think in general, the chick will either have bad or no makeup, bad hair, bad clothes or bad habit so one has to go pass that.

In terms of transportation, travel for most of the El Centro Chicas is either by bus or the Metro, ranging from 2200 to 2700 Pesos each way. So for a Chica who travels by Metro, the cost would be the same for them if they got off at the Parque Berrio Station or the Poblado Staion which is a twenty minute walk from Lleras.

It has been 3 or 4 years since I visited Medellin. Now is the time to plan a 2nd visit! However I'm debating whether I should go to Medellin again or visit Cali this time. Has anything changed recently in Medellin scene in terms of prices, girls quality, selection, etc? Any new brothels or strip clubs that I should visit? My to go places were New Life and Energy during the day, and Fase Dos and La Isla at night. I also tried Loutron brothel once. If anything else should be added to my list (or switched) please let me know.

Something is lost in communication. When this is said, nobody is saying there is a mass migration of chicks from one place to another at a certain time. This just means that sometimes you will see a chick at a place where the "going rate" if you will, is 200K, whereas you saw her another time at a place where the going rate is 30K.

How rampant are the trannies in the grand scheme of things? For example:

1. Do they constantly band together with fellow trannies in the SW areas so you can spot them from meters away so you can swerve out the way?

Agree with you 100% most of my friends would be scared shitless in El Centro at night it doesn't phase me at all. When I'm out at night always dress down jeans T-shirt baseball cap I walk around like I have a purpose. I've been camping out at the Nutibara the past week found some nice street action bar action plus I had a few of my FB girls come and visit. My first trip I stayed in Pablado then never went back then started going to Laureles for a bit but now it's only Centro for me.
