Hi,

Visiting Medellin for a quick first visit on September 9-13. I'm looking for some advice on how to set up contacts prior to visit on FB. I have the Tinder thing down but so many seem fake.

I am traveling solo (nervous about this) but I've been wanting to visit for a while. What are the must do's and don't do's? Does anyone have a local tour guide contact for during the day and also at night that they would mind sharing?

I'm booked at Hotel Du Parc Royal. I'm hoping that's a great spot. Any feedback?

Just go walk about Plaza Botero, and the walk towards Veracruz. I don't know how you could miss the Venecas, they're all over the place.

Speaking the language obviously is a huge advantage.

When I'm on the prowl on the streets for poontang I have no concern for nationality. I choose what interests me, same in casas. I have sessioned a few Venezuelans in casas but not on the streets. If they are ugly I will take no interest and be unconcerned whether they are Venies or not. For me its looks first; the Venies I have sessioned so far have been top notch in looks and service. A future visit to Caracas is definitely in the cards.

The cheapest is usually Viva Air (used to be Viva Colombia Air) out of Miami, I flew down last year for around $200.

Both are super low cost airlines so barebones but only 3.5 hrs from Miami so bearable.

Thanks. I'm flying from Chicago and I generally avoid Spirit and the likes. I've heard too many stories of missed connecting flights and cancelled flights. Must be nice to live in Miami and get direct flights to Colombia, Brasil, etc!

I've always liked Copa and they usually have good prices if you book early, but this year, they are more expensive than just about everyone.

I agree that there are very hot Facebook chicas but in my experience I have not been able to get a meeting with them as of yet. Many chicas that I met last year were using photos two or three years out of date.

This year I am matched on Tinder with chicas in the 25 or 30 year range that have children. I am a fat guy in my late 60's so this could be making a difference. I am not the guy who is going to take them out salsa dancing and then still pay them in the morning. Some of the young Facebooks chicas have friended me. Of those that have friended me I have not pursued yet.

The casinos, at least the small ones I believe just have machines and no table games. I don't know about the casinos on Avenida Poblado you mentioned, you should be able to go to their websites to see what they offer.

Money I believe is all in Pesos, and I am sure the larger Casinos will gladly exchange USD for Pesos but you will get hosed on the exchange rate. Bring ATM cards to withdraw Pesos.

Working girls in the Casinos, I don't think so, at least I have never seen a post about guys getting hookers out of the Casinos here.

However, now that you have brought this up, I am going to check out some of the Casinos on Avenida Poblado, maybe take out is available. Or perhaps some of the waitresses for sure!

I don't like the blackjack set-up in Colombia. The dealer only deals the upcard. They only deal the downcard at the end. The casinos use the auto-shuffling shoe.

They use Colombian pesos in the casinos.

I assume all small neighborhood casinos only have machines. I've only peeked into a couple.

I don't recall ever seeing a working girl at Casino Rio. That place is not a working girl spot. But numerous neighborhood casinos are in the red light district.

If I remember correctly most of the players down there played not to take a bust card. Seemed like no one would challenge the dealer unless it was obvious hit.

Amazing and entertaining how everybody rolls different here. We are lucky to have so many options here besides social media. I've had some luck with Tinder, but in Asia and Europe. I don't bother with it here though, I am a street rat!
