I go with a dual SIM phone for the past 10 years or so. I find it the most convenient for travel and home use. I keep a spare phone with as a backup only. I use a local SIM for data service when I'm out of my home coverage area. Every so often a local phone number comes in handy but it's less and less often.

With the Verizon International Plan I have, it's though I have never left the USA, the phone works just like at home and in the last three months I have used it in Turkey, Iceland, Germany, and in Colombia. May cost more than multiple phones and SIM cards, but no hassle whatsoever.

Most guys on ISG do not use agencies in Colombia. In fact, when you read Agency websites it seems as if they have a real problem with the guys and chicas cutting their own deals after the first meeting. I guess in that respect it is similar to Fase Dos and La Isla. But agencies do serve a useful purpose by saving time. It takes time to build a quality Facebook list. There is a Scotiabank ATM in Poblado in the vicinity of opposite the Holiday Inn Express so you should have no problem with ATM. Call your local bank before leaving. Nevertheless I would advise on bringing requisite amount of cash depending on your length of stay. Colombia is great any time of year.

Anyone fly back and forth between Medellin and Cartagena much? I see flights in a basic Google search round trips nonstops ranging from $60 on Viva Air to $100 Avianca. I'm wondering if these are prices only gotten when you book in advance or do the budget airlines like Viva Air run these all the time?

The prices are almost always that cheap. It's like an hour flight at most. I like to book in advance with avianca. Always smooth flying and luggage is included. Keep In mind the fares google flights is pulling are most likely from the Spanish website, so it can be a a little confusing if you don't understand Spanish but you should be able to figure it out.

Out of hundreds of friend requests I sent out since late 2017 around 1 in 3 have accepted.
