Quick question, how long do you guys usually go to Medellin for?

Planning my first trip there and I'm debating how many days I should do.

First, thanks to all the seniors who take their time and explain really trivial basics to us mongers sitting on their laptops at another corner of the world. Your patience is really really appreciated.

Taxi for airport: Arranged it through the manager of the Airbnb place I was staying in. Cost 77 k COP.

Local Sim: Exito sim. 30 K COP for 2 GB data. This worked good enough in El poblado but didn't work well when I was in strip clubs of Santa Fe, Bogota.

Local Taxi: EasyTaxi app. I didn't hook up my credit card to the app, paid in cash. Taxi guys in Medellin do not believe in algorithms of Google Maps, most them give zero fucks about the suggested routes of the app.

Food delivery: Rappi. Again my credit card didn't work so paid in cash.

Currency: Like Mr. E and others have repeatedly and painfully have said, don't bring your USD. You will get ripoff exchange rates. In my opinion ATM is the best option. And if you are American then get a Charles Schwab account..

I basically see only FB girls and most of them do not share their friend contacts. Of the girls that I have which share their friends (mostly gringos) I tend to avoid. FB makes friend suggestions based on your current list of friends. I have been pretty successful with that. I had one FB girl that provides excellent service tell me she does not share her friends because too many girls steal contacts. A lot of these girls do share among each other contact names when they are together. I know because I get contacted by girls that I don't know but I realize later they are friends of girls I had sessioned with. You may not get a response if you don't message them. I usually message them (in spanish) and tell them when I plan to be in Medellin and that I would like to see them. That usually works. Works so well that I have learned not to make too many knew friends because I wind up only seeing maybe 2 out of 5 of them.

Probably the best language school is at EAFIT. The intensive classes are 4 hours daily for 2 weeks. Excellent instructors and students from all over the world. Also only 4-8 students per class.

The issue is probably with your Facebook. The girls with all the gringo friends just accept anyone, especially a gringo. Most other girls look at the profile. If you're using a profile with no content, other than 2 or 3 pictures, you're not going to get a lot of interest. I'm the same when looking at profiles. A friend request from any account with just 2 or 3 pictures and nothing more gets deleted.

If you send a message to someone not on your friend list it doesn't immediately pop up for them. It goes to another area. It's less likely to be seen.

How do you determine they will be interested?

I don't. I determine that I believe they might be interested. No guarantees. They might be interested if they have 1. Lots of pictures of their kids and friends, but no boyfriend pics. 2. Pics of them out partying. 3. Any pics showing a jacuzzi tub. 4. Sexy pics, beyond the normal selfie. 5. Posts that are sexual. There's more, but those are some of the basics.

You are way ahead in the FB game than me. I will keep this in mind if one day I make your kind of FB network.

Building FB is a numbers game. At first, except for the gringo favorites, you send 20 requests and get 2 friends. Once you get a bunch of friends you start receiving requests. I'm still getting requests accepted that I sent out almost 2 years ago.

Marketing would be my guess. LifeAfar sounds more exciting than Investment Realty.

Not just in clubs but on the street where Troya is located, my data and calls were not working. I walked a little bit, went to another part of Santa Fe and got the data to connect again. In another instance inside the Troya, while talking to some other guy and exchanging our contact info my data was not working but his was. Perhaps Woodman09 would be the best guy to comment on situation of cell connectivity in Santa Fe clubs.

Happens to me all the time with my T-mobile. I usually have to reboot my phone to get the signal back when leaving out of Troya.

Accommodation 1: Having read many posts of Scopolamine drugging on FB pages and here, I decided to rent a cheap place Airbnb in El poblado where I used to keep all my valuables and do my office work. Costed me around $15/ day. It was comfortable but really basic. Worst part was sharing the bathroom with other Euro begpackers.

Accommodation 2: Blux. This is a chica friendly place. I used this place (only booked intermittently for few days) just for fucking the prepagos. I had none of my valuables in this house. I even kept safety box empty and open just to show there is nothing she will gain by a robbery attempt.

Language: Spanish only. Everyone is a monoglot.

Chicas: I only fucked 3 chicas from FB. Most of them try hard to satisfy you. They also made good of the reputatoin that Colombian women are really gentle and sweet. Most of them were also okay for 2 shots. I paid 150 k plus taxi plus tip. Always 200 k COP as total.

Can anyone suggest intensive language schools in Medellin. I just want to talk to my chicas between the leches. Jajaja.

It works like this:

Someone on my friend list tags someone in a photo. I like her look, so I check her profile. Then I check her friend list, find someone else and pop to her profile, repeat 3 or 4 times. That one tagged friend will likely generate 20 or more girls I'm interested in. I'll see which friends we have in common, and if I think they would be interested, I'll click.

I don't have to look for gringos anymore. It's rare to find a profile that doesn't have several friends who have friends in common with me. If I see a Colombian with 15 mutual friends, then I'm probably on the right track.

Now this begs the question. Do I fly to Bogota for a few days instead? Or save it for the next trip? This is my first time to Colombia. Seasoned monger with decent Spanish skills.

I have 11 nights. Was going to do only Medelln but maybe I sneak away to Bogota for a few days?

Bogota for me sucks but should be visited at least once and I suggest you go there first because if you go after Medellin you will be disappointed. Don't stay for more than a few days.
