MDE Trip Report part 1, the logistics

First, thanks to all the seniors who take their time and explain really trivial basics to us mongers sitting on their laptops at another corner of the world. Your patience is really really appreciated.

Taxi for airport: Arranged it through the manager of the Airbnb place I was staying in. Cost 77 k COP.

Local Sim: Exito sim. 30 K COP for 2 GB data. This worked good enough in El poblado but didn't work well when I was in strip clubs of Santa Fe, Bogota.

Local Taxi: EasyTaxi app. I didn't hook up my credit card to the app, paid in cash. Taxi guys in Medellin do not believe in algorithms of Google Maps, most them give zero fucks about the suggested routes of the app.

Food delivery: Rappi. Again my credit card didn't work so paid in cash.

Currency: Like Mr. E and others have repeatedly and painfully have said, don't bring your USD. You will get ripoff exchange rates. In my opinion ATM is the best option. And if you are American then get a Charles Schwab account.

Accommodation 1: Having read many posts of Scopolamine drugging on FB pages and here, I decided to rent a cheap place Airbnb in El poblado where I used to keep all my valuables and do my office work. Costed me around $15/ day. It was comfortable but really basic. Worst part was sharing the bathroom with other Euro begpackers.

Accommodation 2: Blux. This is a chica friendly place. I used this place (only booked intermittently for few days) just for fucking the prepagos. I had none of my valuables in this house. I even kept safety box empty and open just to show there is nothing she will gain by a robbery attempt.

Language: Spanish only. Everyone is a monoglot.

Chicas: I only fucked 3 chicas from FB. Most of them try hard to satisfy you. They also made good of the reputatoin that Colombian women are really gentle and sweet. Most of them were also okay for 2 shots. I paid 150 k plus taxi plus tip. Always 200 k COP as total.

Can anyone suggest intensive language schools in Medellin. I just want to talk to my chicas between the leches. Jajaja.

    FB network

Because they are the ones who almost always accepts your friend request. Girls without gringo friends on FB, usually do not accept my friend request. Has someone tried just sending message to a girl without sending a friend request? Are normal chicas more responsive that way.

That one tagged friend will likely generate 20 or more girls I'm interested in. I'll see which friends we have in common, and if I think they would be interested, I'll click.

How do you determine they will be interested?

You are way ahead in the FB game than me. I will keep this in mind if one day I make your kind of FB network.

On a side note, I have observed which others also have mentioned in this forum, the inbox gets flooded once you reach Medellin and start posting pics of the city.

Now this begs the question. Do I fly to Bogota for a few days instead? Or save it for the next trip? This is my first time to Colombia. Seasoned monger with decent Spanish skills.

I have 11 nights. Was going to do only Medelln but maybe I sneak away to Bogota for a few days?
Bogota for me sucks but should be visited at least once and I suggest you go there first because if you go after Medellin you will be disappointed. Don't stay for more than a few days.

This should be a wake up call for any members of this board that spend a lot of time in Colombia and don't have the proper visa to do so.

Was there any dubious reason for their name change? I'm pondering their Packaged Real Estate Projects.

Up until earlier this month DIAN the IRS of Colombia and Migracion of Colombia did not exchange information between themselves. This month they signed a formal agreement to exchange information between the agencies to catch those not paying taxes and other things. So what I believe has happened in the past is people show up and are given a 90 day visa to stay. Then they stay a few months, leave for a while, come back and get another 90 day stay, then leave and return and before you know it have exceeded the 180 day tourist rule and perhaps immigration isn't catching it, noticing it, or tracking it somehow. This apparently will change and I would not want to be in the position of either arriving or departing Colombia and having immigration walk me over to the DIAN (Colombian IRS) office located at the Airport.

Why would having gringos in her friend list matter? Colombians fuck too.

If the girl already has a bunch of gringo friends I'm probably either on her list, or I have a reason to not send her a request. When I'm adding girls, I just find the ones that interest me and send a request. Often I'm 5 or 6 layers deep, when I add someone.

Lifeafar used to be First American Investment Realty. As far as I know all their apartments are chica friendly. They have a fairly wide price range.

Also I was at this apartment rent office by Park lleras in Medellin and got a business card saying "apartmentinternationl dot com" when I looked up the site it brought to me lifeafar site which I was not expecting. Apparently they are the same thing? The guy at the office told me they door has no security, so you have full responsibility. Obviously having a security has pro and cons more safety but possibly more restrictions also. The place is in the la 70 area.

Has anyone stayed with lifeafar, how are their policies regarding chicas and security at the door? And standard of the apartment or should I just go for Airbnb?
I've stayed in a lifeafar place in chapinero and never had an issue bringing a lady back. If you have never stayed in Colombia before, check out their YouTube channel: Sam. LifeAFAR. Tons of good information about Colombia in general.

I like staying at lifeafar places, most of them have no security so you need to watch out who you bring back. Yeah theirs a sign that says no sex tourism which I have broken plenty of times ahahaha. A lot of the apartments on lifeafar are on Airbnb, and I prefer to book with lifeafar instead because they don't charge you booking fees and you can ask them to give you a deal and they'll give you like 10 percent off. I like staying in the Poblado suites (Tokyo, Paris, New York, dunes). It's right next to parque poblado and has a store and food places all around.

I was wondering the same thing just out of curiosity as I have permanent residency and a cedula.
