Looked like a Wild West saloon.
Bunch of drunk young colombianos, and some scattered chicas about.
Don't know the name, but I'm sure a taxi will know it.

Posts: 387I've heard there is a brothel and / or a night club in Rio Negro, but I've never been and don't know the hours. Perhaps you can ask a cab to take you somewhere close? They've been relatively honest and trustworthy in my opinion although I wouldn't drag my bags all over.

Personally don't think it is enough time. 5 hours is pushing it with the distance to / from Medellín and passing through security again.

Hi,
I will have a short lay over in Medellin (midnight to 5).
Any ideas / suggestions for a short mongering adventure?

I used to live in Caracas. Before the dick nose Chavez came to power.
I agree with you though, that lots of Venies in Colombia now are more educated than the average street Colombiana.
They may individually be easier to understand due to their education, however, Venezuelan spanish in general is harder to understand.

I am getting deaf but, even when I could hear, I found it hard to understand Venezuelans because they shorten every word. Also, they "debuccalize" (take the sound out of the mouth and move it to the throat) consonants, e. g. , este become ehte. I've always had trouble with Spanish in Venezuela (esp Isla Margarita).

Posts: 297As a side note, many people, locals, expats, and foreigners all say that colombian spanish it the easiest to listen to, speak, and learn from. There are many europeans and gringos that come to Colombia for that reason. Yes, their motivation is to learn spanish properly. And many of them are in Medellin.
Just my 2 centavos.
