The room smelled of smoke (prob just the room they gave me and most of the rooms were prob okay). There were no blankets, it was just a sheet but the AC either wasn't working or wasn't working well. I saw a roaches there. On my first day there, I didn't do nearly enough research and just tried to walk around and find some goodies. I was only able to find trans girls and the club I went to close by had like 4's and 5's. I got cheated at the club (paid up front, girl said BBBJ but tried to put a rubber on me). I threw a fit and the club owner got me like half my money back. I went back to the hotel and asked the guy up front where he would go and he sold me a pile of crap about the place next door. Sex was a little below average and with a 5. (cost was like 50 k. The guy up front told me it was common place to tip 50 k just for normal stuff, so I did).
The next day, I went to the other clubs talked about on here and they were a lot better. 50 k (17) for 30 minutes and 50 k for add ONS like BBBJ and BBFS. I negotiate a lot in Tijuana but my Spanish is bad, so if what they ask for isn't super common (talked about in the forum) then I just pay it. I also got a hotel far an 5 min uber ride away. It was 35 or so a night and it was heads and tails better. I had great air con, tv had English channels, WiFi worked in my room, I had a blanket and my bed was comfortable and didn't smell of smoke.
Uber is not technically legal in Colombia. What you want to do is call for an uber ride and sit in the front seat. Act like a friend is picking you up. If you put in your destination for uber you don't need to talk to the drivers. The normal taxi drivers will take you the wrong way for 30 minutes to get more money or sit in one spot while you try to tell them where you want to go for like 15 minutes. I def suggest uber. There are lots of places that have WiFi so you could use WiFi to call for uber, but I'd suggest getting a sim card before you get here or do roaming or something.
I think hotel Botero is great for 20 year old who are on a budget or pros who can get better rooms / treatment but for me, I'd much rather just get a comfortable place and uber around. It's only like 10 or 20 bucks more a night with 2-3 bucks for an uber ride. I'm trying out an AirBnb place on my next trip at the end of the month.
My current price list. Hope it helps. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong as it will save me and possibly others some cash and prevent wreaking the game.
Casas: 50 k or less for 30 minutes. 50 k for add ONS (energy is suppose to be better but more expensive) (I like new life).
Facebook: 150 k to 250 k. I'm not sure if that's per hour or for the whole night. Also not sure what adds on cost (never tried but will try next trip).
Street girls: I heard like 30 k per pop and it's like 20 k for the hotel? (never tried but will try next trip).
Dance clubs: Heard it's all over the place. Some ask for like 300 k+ for an hour and some are like 150 k for the night? (never tried but will try next trip). Apparently gusto nightclub is expensive and the way to negotiate is getting them alone and asking rather than in front of their friends.
Colleges: So this is a new one I just thought up. Might as well go to the source yeah? I'm almost 40 but still look in my early to mid 20's for some reason so I figured I wouldn't look too out of place.
If you are going to be using your phone to translate, I've found the best way is ask / communicate before entering the room and the time starts. Like do you have any specialties, or I like it when girls moan or lick my ear or something. Otherwise you might just get a starfish and "just the tip" refers to her BJ skills.

I have had buddies stay at the Botero with no spanish skills, should be doable. If you do stay there make sure you read my complete guide to the Botero in post #925 in the Medellin Hotel thread: http://www.internationalsexguide.nl/...artments/page5.
You want as high a floor as possible so the street noise is less notable, and the west side (opposite entrance) which is cooler in the morning. A ISG member has been staying there since last year, might still be there, he can show you the ropes. (PM for some more info on that).

Posts: 34Cell Phones and SIM cards.
Been seeing a number of posts about this, and I figure I'd share my experience.
I knew nothing about the rules / laws here when I purchased a SIM card at Claro in Laureles (next to the Exito / mall) three months ago. I was paying so little attention to the process that I can't remember for sure, but they must've registered it correctly using my passport and whatever else they needed. I've had no problems adding credit since that point.
On the other hand, my wife went to Tigo and she's gone through Dante's Inferno trying to get it sorted. Her phone was locked, and ultimately she had to plead with and badger the guy at Tigo who sold her the SIM card to meet her at a government office etc etc etc. It took three appointments and two weeks to fix the issue.
Small sampling size so I wouldn't necessarily claim that Claro is better than Tigo. But if you're coming here and planning to stay or return, make sure it gets done right the first time.

My budget is only for food and drinks, doesn't include price for lodging. The reason I am mulling a side trip to Bogota is because some trip reports indicate without facebook, SA and CC, there may not be much success for a newbie without Spanish skills in the bars or casas in el centro.
Perhaps I might have better luck in Santa Fe.
Also, when they say 30 minutes, does it mean strict 30 minutes even if one has not finished the deed?
In most places (read Tijuana, Pattaya) 30 minutes gives you a complete ride and sometimes the ride may take 40 minutes or 20 minutes depending on several circumstances and camaraderie with the lady in question.
Of the 10 days, I am planning to do 2-3 days of M1 and 3 days of some place in Poblado and the last 3 days in Hotel Botero in Centro, primarily because that is where the action is and I do not to do too many taxis or uber because of the inability to converse with the drivers in Spanish.
Is Botero a strictly no go for a newbie or Spanish virgin?
Are there any other alternatives?

Given your budget, it's probably not worth a side trip to Bogota.
Now here's the problem I see. Planning 1 hour sessions with casa, strip club and street girls is really not the best bang for your buck. These girls are mostly used to 15 to 30 minute quickies. They aren't always going to give you much after the first 30 minutes. You'll end up paying for 20 or 30 minutes of girls just wasting time, almost every session. Mansion girls and Facebook girls are used to keeping guys entertained for an hour or more.
For every problem, there's a solution. During your time at M1 get every WhatsApp number you can. Get in a daytime 30 minute session at a casa or with a street girl, and get numbers from the best ones. Then use those numbers to get someone to your hotel at night.

If you want to really enjoy the women with her company and some interaction, invest some money and time on SA, CC and facebook. There are some English speaking girls on these sites.

Posts: 414Yes on the second floor. There are spots to sit down around that area but not Valdez coffee stand. It is a small airport, I don't see the big deal here. You should be able to see each other quickly.

It works just fine in my iPhone, and yes it is only data. New countries are added all the time, and I assure you Colombia is on the list as this is the exact card I'm using. It has also worked fine in Hong Kong, USA, Canada, and Panama. The link you gave is the one month version of the same product, which I'm sure works fine, but the 12-month version is like having an unlimited world SIM in your pocket for a year. One year 12 GB is $50 data only. Your link, 30 days 12 GB is $30. If you need that much data per month then the $30 is cheaper. If you use about 1 GB / week traveling like I do, then the one year is awesome. I keep a backup handy too, never know when a Europe trip is going to pop up, and $3/ GB is cheaper than just about any local SIM I've ever used.
It also receives SMS's as I've used the number to activate various services that require a number.

Hello Seniors,
This is my first time posting here at ISG. A should out to all the contributors and excellent reports by so many guys. An Indian guy living for the past decade in the states and planning a trip to Colombia for the first time. Previous mongering experiences include Philippines, Thailand, Tijuana multiple times. Never been to DR or any Latin American destinations.
My trip is coming up in 3 weeks:
My budget is usd1500 for 10 day trip for food and girls. I plan on about 2 one hour sessions per day. Is this reasonable expectations. I am only seeking strip clubs, casas, massage and street girls. If I have difficulty scoring, I may go with prepagos internet.
Since this is my first trip should I make a pit stop for a few days in Bogota? Routard trip report is too irresistible and makes it seem doable for a newbie like me.
I plan to stay in M1 for the first 2 nights and then pick one of the suggested hotels in the lists in El Centro for 7-8 days. Nada Spanish Zilch. The difficulties I would face picking up girls, speaking with uber or exchanging money or ordering food through domicilios or any of the normal things we do in day to day activities are things that I am prepared to face but. Would these be so great that I may not be able enjoy the trip?
