Considering the number that get their sisters, cousins, friends and even daughters involved in their activities, it's not much of a stretch to have one or more male cousins aware of how they're making money.

Getting girls off the ad sites is always going to be a risky venture. You don't know who you're contacting. Having the person who answers the door not look like their pictures is the least that can go wrong.

Not sure what is worse in Colombia the food or the service, just be prepared and reasonable expectations. As far as girls if you are into big ass you will love it, if you are into more the European look, not sure if you will like it. Girls very accessible, fair prices and many times are willing to spend the night. I real do not care if they spend the night, but some guys love this.

Is he saying don't use ATM out in Medellin? I'the imagine like anywhere you have to watch your back unless there is specific organized crime against ATMs in Colombia.

In Africa some ATM have 24/7 security guards actually.

Why the need for western union if visa with ATM are safe.

Buy far the best way to get money in Colombia is using ATM's. They will give you the best exchange rate on average and if you use a debit card from fidelity or Charles Schwab they will reimburse your ATM fees. For purchase use a credit card with no foreign transaction fee or cash.

Wiring money with Xoom or Western Union is a bad idea because of the fees and the an exchange rate that is not as good at you get at ATMs.

Actually using Western Union is not the dumbest money strategy I have seen. As an experiment, I looked at Xoom because I have a Paypal account and they charge $5 plus 3% foreign currency fee. All the supermarkets like Exito and Carulla (open on weekends) have the service according to Xoom. The supermarkets limit you to $1000 per transaction. My credit union would charge me 3% and I would have to pay ATM fees for each transaction. So it would probably take 4 ATM transactions to buy $1000 in Colombian pesos so Xoom is cheaper.

I recommend finding a debit card that has no foreign currency exchange fee and forgives the ATM transaction cost. I use Schwab but you need to open a brokerage account to get the service last I checked.

When in doubt. Have them come to you and if you open the door to someone other than in the picture, close the door. Thats the safest method.

If you do this be careful! Now they know which room you're in and at minimum which hotel or apartment you were in. They all have boyfriends and friends and brothers and cousins etc. Etc. Etc. It would be best to throw them 20 or 40 KCOP for taxi money if you're going to close the door in their face. Otherwise you will be a gringo in a foreign country pissing somebody off. And if you don't at least throw her taxi money she will have spent some of her money for nothing. Even though she lied to you she is out her taxi money. JMHO.

My opinion on the matter. The web girls are like Russian Roulette. Some time it's great and sometimes it sucks. You'll have some bait and switch pictures, old pictures, photoshopped pictures and that's before you get to attitude and general sexiness. I prefer to hit the strip club bordellos in Medellin, you'll have up to 50 girls to choose from and you can see them in person 1st and sit and have a drink and chat and check them out. Then you can test drive in the club, and if you hit it off get her WhatsApp and see her later / the next day etc. You can aslo pay the club a fee and leave with the girl right then.

The Centro clubs will be $25 to $30 on site for girl + room, the upscale clubs like Fase II will be $65 and up.

I prefer the indoor ones like the ones in Hotel Nutribara's lobby, or the one on Junin Walking street that has a armed security guard standing there.

I followed the link, I contributed to increasing its counters, and the first video I saw was "Learn about Colombian Money". He shows bills and gives the rough equivalent in USD. What I learned is that this guy has some problem with math, specifically with multiplications.
