Medellin is a buyers market for everything!

Personally I think Barry is one of the most condescending people I have dealt with and I know there are plenty of others here in this forum who would agree. He thinks he's funny. I don't. Surely I will get some sort of negative response to this so I will just keep it clean. Anyway, hes a big real estate mogul with hundreds of apartments, so my little comment will not have any actual effect on his business.

Why not book through booking.com rather than be another typical sex tourist in "gringo gulch" where the gringo tax has become automatic? If you want to party loud and late most of your nights, then stay as close to parque lleras as possible. Otherwise there are tons of great options!

Its easy to find fantastic apartments in Medellin! Just make sure you can have guests and be respectful of neighbors as anyone should be no matter where you are visiting.

The la 70 area between Estadio and avenida 33 are really cool areas! Lots of students and locals in this disco, bar, restaurant packed area. Very centrally located while taxis in Medellin are super easy and economical to get everywhere you need to be in minutes! Furthermore, another option, downtown (el centro). Many guys I know end up spending most of their time downtown! And then at night they end of taking taxis all over the city anyway. Plus, downtown is much more economical for everything. Food, chicas, rent, shopping. Everything. It is called Centro bcause it is THE CENTER. So instead of 40 minute, 25 mil taxis each way for practically every chica from Bello, it is only 12 mil and 15 - 20 minutes.

Wild thing, a 3 holes, she say Culito no, culito no, but whit some chatting an patience. Culito was enjoy. Ángela was put on the A list.

This will be my second trip to Madelin,. First trip was not good and I made a report about it. So here I am making a trip to Madeline and I'm looking for help. This time I plan on staying at least 2 weeks. , I am looking at apartments but the apartment must have 24 HR security. Can anyone recommend an apartment that meets my needs.

LOL, yes, my two cousins were with me. And yep, thankfully the girls were skinny so it worked out. Its actually the first picture with the three girls. We were told that, about the 100 for all night, but it was out first night though, especially after just leaving Fase II. We just went with it.

MDE vet here, still reasonably young, but at the age where I can hang with the 20 somethings or 60 somethings (doesn't matter to me). My spanish is passable, and still needs work (it is better than 98% of gringos tho, so I win! Haha).

Welcome! El centro, Robledo, and barrio Antioquia are super safe. The best is to go during night time with all of the action. I recommend you walk as much as you can and immerse yourself as a local. Individuals you should approach are the ones wearing sunglasses with jeans and a backpack. Just walk right up to them saying "oye marica" which means "hey man". They will hook you up with anything you need and are super friendly. I also recommend you look at your phone often when you are trying to navigate. The best phones to bring are the newest ones like iPhone 8 to make yourself stand out as the "cool" tourist.

Most people who come to this forum asking questions are looking for serious advice, not some sarcastic response, posted twice!

Strange. I have traveled the world as a solo traveler for 3 decades and never had any issues in any countries. I speak English and knew some German. I studied Spanish but rarely got to use it in Mexico as most speak English there. My Spanish is not fluent but better than broken broken. I had no issues visiting Spain, Argentina, Paraguay and Peru. Only problem was finding the local beer in a grocery store! Majority of countries I have visited, many do not speak English and I have communicated with them. I learnt some French before going to Morocco and my really bad pronunciation of French was a big breaking the ice as the girls just laughed. I also found that using a tablet and communicate using the translater at the apartment can be fun too. Of course it is better if you know the language but I love to travel solo. Better than being in a group. I can do what I want when I want.

MEDELLIN.

I arrived in Medellin (MDE) from Bogota via VivaColombia, a Colombian national airline (flight was $44, including a carry on and airport check in) at about 11:45 am. I did not pre-arrange a taxi in order to get a good read on how much of a deal I could get. Safely. Since I was traveling domestically from Bogota, no Customs or Immigration. I avoided the usual random guys asking if I needed a taxiespecially as I got closer to the authorized taxi line. As I approached the taxi line, there was a group of 4 or so taxi drivers standing around talking. I stood by the first taxi in the line and was approached by a driver. I asked if it was his taxi, which he affirmed. I then proactively asked if he was good with 70 mil pesos, which he seemed surprised that I asked, yet he agreed to it. Next time, I'll start at 50 mil and see where it gets me.

Anyway, got to the apartment. One of Barry's Poblado Rentals (www.pobladorentals.com), the same exact place I stayed at last timein the heart of Parque Lleras. Next to Sky Zone Bar on Carrera 38. Location is 1 block from Hooters. Got to the apartment and it was as expected. With the added guarantee that the Jacuzzi was working this time! Settled in and unpackedclothes, red light, baby oil, lube, condoms, Nutella, loofas for the girls, extra phone, list of places to go, Viagra and Cialis. Good to go!.

I would like to have seen that. I assume you had two cousins with you, so that would have been six people and the driver in a taxi! Reminds me of the movie clip where people just continue to get out of a VW beetle. $100 is an all-night price, but if everyone had a good time, that is all that matters.

Great report. I especially appreciate your observations between Medellin and Sosua as I will be in Sosua next week, my first visit and so just need to cross it off my bucket list of to-do's. I have literally dozens of Medellin trips under my belt over the past 8 years now in Medellin alone, and yes I will also post my observations once my Sosua trip is finished.

Going to Medellin for the the first time in less than two weeks. I am staying in el centro literally by that place New life. I don't know about casas, but I am a walker and will be avoiding strip clubs. I am a hunter, I'll be walking all over. What are the chances of me finding some real good street stuff, cheap too.
