Seeing that your going in December, you will have plenty of time to do research. There been alot of recent reports so you can go through them. Wolf had some detailed reports from his recent trips this year. Seeing that this is your first time and alone, I would avoid the street action buy the casas are pretty safe and you can find lots of attractive options to choose from. Partying is also fun, you can start with Parque llueras but there are lots of party spots especially if your fluent in Spanish. Also, you can start this trip at the Medellin mansion and stay there. I'm pretty much new to all this but wanted to introduce myself since I may need some advice soon. I'm 24 and Colombian but have lived in Florida since I was 8. I'm planning on visiting my family in Bogota around mid-December but want to stop in Medellin prior to and have an awesome couple of days. I'm planning on settling down soon but it's hard to do so when I get bored easily so I'm hoping I can a good amount of crazy experiences while I'm there. I'm reading the forum for now so I can pretty much familiarize myself with most things but will appreciate any advice when the time comes. I'm also a bit hesitant about going alone for the first time and would love to meet people to travel with on these kinds of trips in the future. Thanks for your time guys!

I'm visiting the city next month for the first time. When I visit girls I like to have her all day, how much would a girl cost for one day. I know it varies but I'd like to get an idea.

1. How well do you speak Spanish?

2. How much foreign mongering experience do you have?

3. How much money can you afford to waste each day?

Unless you speak a reasonable amount of Spanish, trying to spend an entire day with a Colombian girl is not a good idea. You will be bored while she spends almost all her time on her phone. After a few hours, she'll find an excuse to leave, but will expect full price.

If you have no experience, most girls will try to jack up the price. If you do manage to get a reasonable rate, she'll be trying to leave after 1 shot. If you overpay, she'll find an excuse after a few hours.

There are 2 ways to keep a girl entertained all day, either take her shopping or party with her. Both can get expensive quickly. Be prepared to carry a lot of money and to spend it freely and don't be too surprised if you don't get what you thought you were paying for.

If you want to spend all day with a girl, stay home and date. If you come to Medellin, pay them for an hour. If you find one you really click with, try a longer visit. If that works, try her for a full day.

Have been having a blast here in Medellin. The chicas in the lesser known casas have been treating me much better than those in the well known ones although Cameela in Energy showed me a great time. Yesterday Michelle in New Life told me no DFK and did not relent, no propina for her. New Life so far has the greater number of girls and no doubt the greater number of gringo punters. Chicas on show included the following:

15 minutes= $40,000.

30 minutes=$50,000.

45 minutes=$65,000.

1 hour=$80,000.

All the way up to 3 hours 15 minutes=$210,000.

I am referring to the group of taxistas who drive white taxis. They are most definitely private taxis. I have taken them many, many times. I know how they work and I know what I pay. 65 K to Poblado. 50 K from Poblado.

Wait a sec. "Colectivo" is not a standard taxi. A "Colectivo" is a shared taxi: they can load more persons and unload them in sequence where they want. The route can be optimized, but it is not the same as having a driver who takes you from your point A to your point be.

Thanks for the feedback. Have been having a really great time especially at the non-gringo casas. Everything is on the menu. I anticipate a really fantastic time in Medellin over the next three weeks.

I just pay the taxi drivers a flat. 75 mill to take me to my apartment in Medellin.

I find it is the same or less than paying the 65 mill and then having the taxi driver start the meter once you reach the city limit.

I'm not sure how that's the same or less than 65 k, which is what I'm charged to my apartment. If the drivers of the white taxis from the airport are stopping at the city limit and starting the meter, they must assume it's always your first visit.

Why don't you tell them you live in Bello, which is only 70 k and then redirect them? Save yourself 5 k and avoid the bizarre behavior of taxi drivers stopping at the city limit to start a meter. Better yet, take a picture of the sign, pay 65 k and if the driver argues show him the picture.

Depending on where a person is staying, the cheapest way is to pay 9500 for the bus to either Nutibara or Centro Comercial San Diego (Las Palmas). From there a taxi will run less than 20 k.

For me, the airport bus then a short walk through San Diego, cross the street and 2000 for a bus which drops me within 50 yards of my apartment is a good alternative.

And even if my life depended on remembering the names of each of the girls, or even their number, I cannot do it after meeting 10,15 or even sometimes up to 20 at one of these casas.

Shit, I can't remember one chick's name after meeting her one on one. That goes in one ear and out of the other.
