White taxi. Always pay 65 K from and 50 k to. If my driver can't come and he sends another, it's the same. No negotiation. Driver told me that was the rate for the white taxi collectivo.

This is the standard rate. Sometimes I paid 70 k, requested by the taxi driver and without negotiating.

Excellent observation. Spot on. You have to take control or they will seize it from you. Gringos are known, in general, to be too soft and nice. They know it and take advantage of it. Colombianos would not put up with it.

Still figuring out Colombiana's but all of my experience with latinas in BsAs leads me to believe they are binary in relationships. Somebody is always going to be the boss and if you are unwilling to take that role they are perfectly happy to step up and treat you like a little girl if you let them.

Any phone can be unlocked, old or new. You can buy unlocked versions of any phone. Newer phones cost more to unlock or to buy unlocked than older phones. Many Americans pay for phones as part of service provider contracts. Those contracts generally restrict how soon you can request unlock codes. If a phone is "under contract" with a carrier, you would have to contact the carrier to request a free unlock code. I only buy unlocked phones because I travel frequently and have no patience for dealing with carriers and unlocking services. In my experience, the cost of an unlocked phone is has always been less than the cost of contracts with carriers like T&T and T-Mobile. Those contracts are advertised as including "free phones" or "free phone upgrades." They are not nearly free because they require you buy data plans and pay monthly fees for years at a time. It adds up to much more than the $500 to $1,000 cost of late model smartphones.

Older phones yes. Newer ones not so much. Did you call AT&T about unlocking it? With T-mobile you can unlock 1 month at a time for 6 months. Then after your phone is paid off or if you initially paid it in full you can unlock it permanently. There is no more calling them to do it. It is all done on an app that comes on the phone.

You are given a key to your apartment and left alone. You can bring as many girls in your apartment as you choose. Zero issues with Pobladorentals. We rented an entire house for 120 a night. It was 3 of us and we split it three ways. I already booked another Medellin trip for December. Can't wait.

You can pay Tinder for the privilege of changing your location on the fly. And it uses GPS and not your IP address.

I just bought a new iPhone SE from BestBuy. It's an ATT prepaid phone, and locked for 6 months. Is it true that in Colombia any phone can be unlocked for about 50 mil?

My research is giving me conflicting reports. 80% of the Colombians I talk to say it can be unlocked easily. In Mexico and the DR phones can be easily unlocked as well for about the same price. However, some Colombians like the owner of my Airbnb describe going to "many places in Bogota, and none being able to unlock" their American phones.

So I am still in Medellin going on almost one month this visit, this being my third visit this year and dozens and dozens since 2008.

I wanted to get some shit crossed off on my bucket-list of what to do to satisfy my sometimes debauchery thinking in Medellin so my good trusted driver and trusted Colombian friend and I took to the road at about midnight on two days this past week, both Wednesday and Friday late night.

SW, For two nights, early AM this past week we trolled all areas of centro for street walkers, my driver was born and raised in Medellin and knew all the areas, damn the shit you see goes from terrifying to the sad and deplorable. Trannies, beat-up and drugged up SW, way young SW actually kids high on glue, tussi spelling? Or whatever, really sad. So, after spending 3 or 4 hours on both nights trolling all around did not pick up anything rather just wanted to see how the early AM SW life is really like in horrible areas of centro Medellin. Many trannies congregate by the area around Cathedral Basicila Metropolitana but side note, damn some of these trannies can fool even a trained eye so be careful.

Conejitas Bar, Friday night spent 2 hours in Conejitas bar across from Plaza Botero, everything that you hear on this board about being safe in this bar and the area is true, this is NOT for the faint of heart. I only went because my Colombian friend was himself a bass-ass in his younger years and is very street smart but now is risk tolerant and understands how to stay safe. We parked in a paid garage on Cr 53 which is between CL 54 and CL 53, for those of you that know this area it is filled with bars, SW, drugs and gangs roaming the streets, if you walk a bit further this is the same street and area on the backside of Museo de Antioquia. In the daytime, it is risky but at night or early AM not a police in sight so watch out. We walked from our parking garage to Conegitas. In the bar beers are cheap, 20 to 25 chicas, some very doable, some I would not "fuck with your dick" as the saying goes. Some real bad ass gangster types in this bar that you don't want to cross. I was the only gringo in the bar and the area. Did not take any girls but after 2 hours made our way out and to our car on Cr 53 and got the hell out of there. Crossed Conejitas off my bucket list, next.

Mayorista, Spent 2 hours drinking some beer at the outside tables at Mayorista at about 11 PM on Wednesday. First this place is a local hang out, I was the only gringo around. It is only about one block long where the SW hang out, I had thought that this area was larger, only needed to experience the atmosphere and must say the 60 to 100 SW chicas, some were very doable, probably 5 or 6 out of 100 but most were let's say, next!

Strip Clubs and Luna Lunera, This trip I had previously been to both La Isla and Fase Dos a number of times in the past month and have taken girls at both places but this past Friday had my first visit to Luna Lunera at about 11 PM. This is located in a decent area on Avenida 33 in Laureles. Probably 25 chicas in the club, many 6 and 7's a few 7 and 8's and maybe some would argue one or two 8 and 9's in the bunch. I took Julia arriba, one hour for as I recall 170 mil, know that you need to purchase either a half-bottle or full-bottle for seating. After a look around and seeing the decent selection of chicas I decided to buy a full bottle of vodka for 180 mil. San Diego Bar, In addition to my first visit to Luna Lunera I also visited San Diego bar at about 10:30 PM for the first time and had a few beers over about a 2 hour visit. I recall the entrance was 10 mil, I did not take any girls. Probably 20 to 30 chicas, some very nice lookers but they were busy with tables of local guys. I just wanted to visit and see inside and how they operate. Had the same feel of bars that I frequent in Tijuana, Mexico. I would repeat a visit here at another time as it has a familiar comfortable feel to this place that I actually like.

Colombian Cupid & Facebook girls, As in past visits to Medellin I have met about 4 girls in my private home whom I met off of CC. They all are about the same in their expectations of 200 to 300 mil for 2 or 3 hours plus taxi. Out of these 4 girls 3 were great and with two I have already repeated. They are young 19 to 24 year old's. They love sex and they love the pesos. It is what it is. They have no issues that I am almost 3 times their age, they kiss with passion, enjoy DATY and some are BB. All are cuties, slender, damn cute Paisa with fresh tender delicious bodies which I enjoy. Side note, After all these years to Medellin I finally visited La Casa de Piedra or also known as Lindas Chicas about 2 weeks ago at about 3 AM early one morning after nothing stood out to me at La Isla. Four girls available so took a 18 yo, forgot what I paid as it was late and had too much to drink beforehand at La Isla. The girl was no beauty but nice enough BUT the rooms are shit old, peeling paint, mold growing on the walls, dirty, old building that should be torn down. Note to self, never go to the room at La Casa de Piedra!

The murder per capita rate is counted over a time period of a year while most tourists in Colombia may most likely just spend a week or two in Colombia. Therefore you need to multiply the number you get with 25 or 26.

That would result in a murder rate of approximately 20 murders per 100 000.

But that is counted over 12 months and out of 100,000 US visitors to Guatemala on avg 1.18 of them will be murdered per year. That number stays the same regardless how long you visit.

A shorter visit doesn't increase your chances.

Statistically speaking it appears to be a bit more dangerous.

The over all homicide rate is 31.2 per 100,000 in Guatemala, Colombia is 26.5.

However the US tourist death rate over 5 years in Colombia was only point 72 per 100,000, with 19 killed in 5 years per State Dept figures.

Can't find the number of US tourists to Guatemala but they had 17 US citizens killed over 5 years, Colombia gets 3. 3 million tourists per year, 500,000 from the US, Guatemala gets only 1. 9 million total, number from US uncertain but if the percentages are roughly the same as Colombia then they get around 287,000 US visitors per year, which would give us a figure of 1. 18 killed per 100,000 per year, about 1.6 x's the Colombian rate but still not too bad as the overall US rate of 4.8 per 100,000.

Day one.

Flew spirit airline's out of FLL at a rate of 192 bucks round trip. We all know spirit is a shitty airline who is grossly incompetent. This goes for every employee who works for spirit! Complete incompetence. Flight was delayed out of FLL for 2 hour's! My return flight was a nightmare as they boarded us all on the plane for an on time departure, only to be told the fucking plane has a flat tire! Took us off the plane to supposedly fix the flat tire, then after 2 hour's they canceled the flight! Complete Chao at the spirit gate! Every employee there is trained to lie straight to your face!

Day one: Arrived in MDE two hour's late. Customs was a breeze, zero issues. I booked my apartment thru my buddy Ruben at Poblado rentals. Beautiful state of the art apartment in Parque Llaras. Ruben sent a driver to pick my and my buddy from Dallas up. Driver was right there waiting with my name on a sign. Took forever to get to apartment due to horrible traffic. This is my 5th trip to Medellin, If you like good scenery, the airport ride gives you plenty of that.

Get to apartment and Maria is there waiting with the key. Ruben is awesome! Never any issues. Beautiful apartments. Me and my buddy unpack and head to the cambio to exchange money. The rate was 2850 on day one. It fluctuates daily all during the day..
