You don't need a money clip not to keep your money in your wallet. My money is in my right front pocket and my wallet is in my left front pocket, unless they aren't. I like to carry a roll of dimes in my right front pocket if I am in a shaky area.

When I monger, I only carry a money clip on the street.

It's harder to pick a money clip out of your from pocket instead of a wallet. You can also fold up a color photocopy of your passport if you like and keep in the money clip with your credit cards. I carry my US Passport card instead, along with my daily cash allotment and my debit card only if I need to make an ATM withdrawal.
You forgot to mention the most important reason to carry a money clip. When someone confronts you with a weapon and demands your money all you need to do is, well... give them your money.

I started carrying a money clip a long time ago when I was living in NYC. A good friend of mine was mugged. They confronted him with a weapon and asked for his money. He wasn't so concerned about his money but he didn't want to give them everything else in his wallet, where he kept his money. He ended up in the hospital.

And people think Medellin is dangerous.

Check out Clothing Arts. I have 3 pairs of their pick pocket proof pants. They are expensive, but well worth it. Pockets have triple protection. Button, zipper, and inside hidden zipper too.

It's off topic but I can't help thinking about the waist to thigh condoms I read about on this website, and only on this web site. A kind of rubber underwear that defies practical use.

Carrying cash. Try a money clip

Let me chip in on my experience carrying cash. Someone of one of these forums suggested carrying a money clip instead of a wallet. Turns out, it's a great idea. At home, I carry a wallet with various cards and driver's license inside, but these are unnecessary when abroad and I leave my regular wallet and its contents at home.

I also have a undergarment money belt to wear "in transit", but I don't carry it around when I get to my destination. It's awkward enough just to access at the airport, much less in a bar or on the street. Once at my destination, I only carry around the cash I plan to spend for the day (or evening) and leave the rest in the safe at the hotel. I also found a plastic case to carry my condoms in. You don't want to be crushing those things, do you? I use a Nintendo Gameboy game case, which you can find on Ebay. Its perfect for a large size condom (or 2) and a little packet of lube thrown in. That goes in the other pocket. I also got one of those plastic "squeeze" coin purses to carry in places like Thailand, where specific coins are important to keep handy. Maybe not such a concern in Colombia, where small denomination coins don't buy squat. But, it sure helped to organize coins for when you are using a public toilet or "baht bus" in Pattaya. So consider getting one of those in places where coins are actually useful to the monger.

I have a small bi fold wallet(credit card / ID size) that holds a CC, ID and has room for folded bills and wear Goldtoe Canterbury over-the-calf dress socks. My wallet stays in my sock and is completely unnoticeable. I keep enough cash in my pocket to buy simple things or "reward" a thief so he looks no further. If I need more money I go into a bathroom and remove what I need. Even sitting in a restaurant I can remove from my sock and nobody notices because I'm covered by the table. I am never worried about the wallet falling out because that sock literally hugs the wallet and keeps it positioned. If I had to run from danger I could sprint a mile and the wallet would stay put. Never feels too snug or uncomfortable. Just enough to know the wallet is still there.

It might seem like a small detail to some but for this hobby the small wallet and those socks are a key component when I'm out in the streets.
I think the socks are a safe place to prevent pickpockets, but not so good in case of robbery. As long as I can remember, I have heard of putting money in your socks. Those who are prone to commit robbery probably have heard that also. I usually carry a little more money than I think I will spend, a copy of my passport, a cellphone, and keys to the apartment. If I am in a crowded area, like the Metro during busy times, I will hook my thumbs in my front pockets. That way, I will know if a hand is trying to go in my pocket. While traveling, I have never been a victim of robbery, but I think I would empty my pockets and allow any searches if I felt eminent danger. And I don't do things to upset the local populace. I am a guest in their country, I have very few rights while there.

Between them they have accounted for about 15,000 posts on ISG, they've mongered all over the world and have seen just about everything. They've advised and guided greenhorns in dozens of countries. Yet you, with zero experience, so wet behind the ears you don't understand brothels do not allow cameras, think you're smarter.

You don't speak any Spanish, plan to go to areas that are always risky and try to negotiate with people who speak no English. Furthermore you want to do it in an area where you will encounter serious drug users, trannys and under legal age hookers.

If you won't take the free advice, your lesson is going to be very expensive.
