Heck, I almost booked the Normandy Hotel next to Barre Exexutiva to save a few more bucks, it's $23 a night compared to $26 at Botero, but Botero has mini-fridges in the room, and I can save some money by keeping some store bought food and drinks in the room.

Just thought I'd be a team player and post this interesting read about estratos. It's sad that people in Latin america are judged harshly based on where they live. Anyway, my question to you gents is does anyone have Estrato rating information on Itagui, Salvanetta, and Envigado? Thanks.

Just a quick sampling of apartment rentals show all 3 to be estrato 3, 4 and 5. Check any real estate website if you want to figure out specifics. I use http://fincaraiz.com.co each listing usually shows a map and the estrato.

Absolutely. This one in particular I know lost out on revenue. As a business decision it makes no sense. She's great in bed and a good looking woman (if a bit older and chubbier) but she would insist on 300 k like it was religion to her just to hit the hotel next to LDV. Conversely, I find the lower strata girls have the opportunity to be respectful to guys like me (or us?) who do not try to low ball them just because they come from a low strata neighborhood. But more often than not they will attempt to get away with what they can and often do not act in a way that warrants repeats. I don't understand it but I guess they end up malformed and think "transactionally" as they would a deal on the corner in their barrio. A lot of what I expect about how people should think must be that I have a more well rounded mentality due to a society where most of my basic needs are available and attainable so I think further, or higher. They generally do not and seem unable to. We might think the low strata girls we meet would be dying for someone to be good and treat them "equally". But they are not, they see us as tourists to be exploited if we let them, the same way they expect to be potentially exploited in deals they make otherwise. Seems normal to them.

Pretty spot on. This girl from Cali that I met in Cartagena wanted 600 k for a full day, then said 300 k para un rato. I was just letting her know I'd be in Cartagena soon. I agree, completely. But most or all of us do not treat lower strata girls that way, and I do not pay more for seemingly higher strata girls. Thinking right now of a beauty that I nixed because she acted like she was special and deserved 300 k for "un tiempo". She seemed to think so much of herself that she did not need to agree on terms in advance and appeared to believe I would be lucky to have her come. I could tell she was going to try to work me.

Anyway, my question to you gents is does anyone have Estrato rating information on Itagui, Salvanetta, and Envigado?

Generally a fair amount lower. I have friends that live in Envigado and not sure there is a strata as expensive as MDE's most expensive and even if an Envigado strata 5 or 6 probably not as expensive as a MDE 5 or 6- just guessing. Sabaneta and itaqui likely have significantly lower COL than even Envigado.

FWIW, Envigado is a very sweet area. I like it a lot. It's just a little far out. But apartments are cheap, it's safe, and via metro or taxi everything is accessible. But convenient? Not always.

I would not assume a girl from Envigado, Itagui, or Sabaneta expects to be paid less however.

After 2 or 3 trips out of other airports, I have come to realize that the 2 or 3 days to recover after the trip & the 2 to 4 hour drive are just not worth it for me! Good luck & enjoy.
