Good reporting bro. I agree about Whatsapp. Sometime they will have these stupid quotes or flowery crap as their main profile pic though, so you may have to ask them to send you a pic to verify she is who she says she is.

I've been here two days, staying near Parque LLeras ("Jheer-ahs") cause I have a pal who gives me a good deal.

First night: met with a new independent girl from one of the two big websites, who I confirmed uses whatsapp and the advertised photos are of her.

Considering I was new to her we had a great time. No problems. Furthering my experience that most independent prepagos will give a good service if all is agreed to in advance.

Oh, as has been written here, the service in Carulla Supermarket is pathetic and Crepes and Waffles is just as bad. I've been to Crepes & Waffles perhaps 25 times and the senoras who work there simply don't give a shit. They completely ignore you when you tell them what you want, like bread and butter and you have to ask twice or thrice and they never acknowledge their complete no give a shit attitude and pathetic service. And yes, my Spanish is more than fine. My theory is that the are paid pennies and work 6 days a week and simply don't give a phuck. Whatever.

In general I've had perfect relations with the locals in the drug stores & restaurants. As I've learned, if you try to speak their language they are very kind and helpful. The only problem is that every city in Colombia uses a different set of verbs. I learned my Spanish in Cartagena and the locals in Medellin use a whole different set of verbs. For a non native Spanish speaker, learning Spanish is a lifetime commitment. .

In Colombia you can have sex from age 14.

Porn is 18 or 20.

If you go to a casa and have sex there, you assume she is 18. I now realize that a few of the girls at casas in el centro may not been 18. Should one ask for her cedula before sex?

What you show in the photo is not the name of the club, but most likely just a sign that says "you are in Raudal at #3" (the sign does not belong to the bar). At most, it could be a bar that takes the name from the area (something like "bar of Raudal #3).

In other words, imagine that you are in New Orleans and you see a sign over a club saying "French Quarter #3". You will not conclude that it is the name of the club, although it is possible (yet unlikely).

It is a rare taxi that won't accept a fare from El Poblado to Centro. Finding a taxi to bring you back is not as easy, as the original poster discovered. Any of the casas will call a taxi for you. You can also hail an uber and wait for it at the casa. The metro is OK, buses are also good and there are more convenient bus stops. For 9 k to 10 k from Poblado, I don't know why anyone wouldn't use uber.

I was in the MDE in Dec & went to Escobars grave, safe house & the "Prison" & had no trouble whatsoever. I was not standing in the middle of Par-kay Yair-as on a bench yelling though. I simply had a map & asked the Uber driver to bring me there & it was not a problem.

After reading through the forums I decided to book my stay for the first few nights near Lleras park. (By the way it's pronounced Yaris Parkay I've been told).
The girls walking the street were young, and hot. Some of them approached me, other times it was their handlers. Really not pushy compared to Bangkok.

A word of caution for everyone.
Girls in Parque LLeras are never not of age (or at least I've never seen any girl there who looks borderline). I bet in most cases they could be a good option, but overpriced, as you have witnessed (the place is for tourists, especially from USA; US tourists have money; many tourists are not price-conscious ==> it's a gold mine for girls).
I have met in the past a couple of girls there, who tried, after a few drinks in a bar 2 blocks from the Parque, to take my cell phone from my pocket while hugging me dancing (just tried: I took it back from her hand asking like naively "why is it in your hands?" and she replied it was falling). I believe that every place where rich tourists hang out are also a haven for scammers and a variety of thieves. Just be careful and always keep your hands where you keep your things.
Better take ONE girl than two in a room of a love motel or where you stay, until you don't know who is she and you know she's a good honest one. While it may be difficult to keep one girl under control at all times in the room (go to the toilet and a trained thief can take something from your pockets in seconds), it's virtually impossible to keep under control TWO girls. I do that, but almost always with girls I know already.

Definitely a sketchy neighborhood, do I was glad to get out before dark.
