I've noticed. Anyone have any idea if this will continue? I read they have low inflation is helping the Peso strengthen.

If anyone could possibly tell you that with any assurance it would be the easiest way to get rich. It would be the same as them giving you the winning lotto numbers.

Inflation is almost half what it used to be from last year. I'm not sure how that impacts the value of the currency. I thought the peso is more tied to the price of oil.

I believe you are correct. Oil prices look to go higher this year. I could live with 2500 but 2000 makes other locations an equal option.

I agree with you except the part about mentioning the strength of the Colombian peso. I don't think the girls care about or understand foreign exchange. For them, a peso is a peso. I don't understand what concern they would have about how pesos line up against the currency a punter uses back home. It's not unlike the idea of justifying paying three times the going rate because it's still cheaper than what it would cost in London or Toronto.

I wasn't trying to ridicule and we've PM'd a bit since the post. The problem is I don't believe the poster was aware of World Travelers list or the pricing in Colombia despite this information being available on this forum. It's not so hard to find. He didn't overpay. He got taken advantage of and she was happy to keep doing it. He could easily have two prepagos living with him for what he's paying her.

You shouldn't be paying more than 200k for short time in Medellin. In the casas its significantly cheaper, but if you're going to pick up outside, stay away from the strip clubs and never go over 200k. Believe me most of these girls aren't so busy. They'll agree to 150-200k. The Colombian peso has also been moving higher and you can always mention that.

What time does it get hopping and how many girls are there? Anyone want to post impressions on it?

Reading the forum can be tedious and time consuming, but it is a good way to avoid mistakes like over paying or ending up in a risky situation.

These responses illustrate where the Medellin board seems to fail in comparison to other forums. I understand what you all see in TravelPlanet's post. On some levels I am a little surprised he revealed it and wonder if he has much experience here on the Medellin board- probably not much or would have known his report would be received with some form of shock and awe. Compared to what TP has available in the US (he actually did ok, I guess. But that is not the standard one should take to Colombia. It's actually kind of dangerous considering the girl intimated harm if he didn't comply. She's obviously a barrio girl and they are most always predators if you show them an opening.

These kinds of posts are learning experiences and teaching moments. I'm glad he shared his report because it serves as a reminder. One can go four or five trips without a hitch, forget the basics or get cocky, and then find himself on the losing end of a deal because he just forgot he is in Colombia. TP made the understandable mistake of believing that a penthouse and money makes them act human and decent. It does not. They can be very disrespectful.

Sadly, this girl that walked with a month's income will have wasted most of it within a few days. They just cannot handle success.

But for the love of the hobby, teach, don't talk down. There is no need to ridicule. I realize it is frustrating to hear but I am glad he posted the report because being reminded of how things really are. I learn from every report that was a successful trip but more from someone posting what might not have gone well.

You rented a "sick penthouse" in that area of Medellin and don't understand why she wanted to spend so much time with you? She saw great big dollar signs. In 2 days she made enough to cover 3 weeks of her expenses (or more, depending on where she's living). She was probably figuring on getting you hooked on her, so you'll drop a bundle on her each trip.

GFE is usually just based upon whether or not kissing and full access is allowed, not on whether she gets you to spend money on her all day.

2 problems with that that I can think of right off the bat are: First, you can get 10 casa girls for the price of 1 La Isla girl. I would say at least 1 out of the 10 you wouldn't find any funky nipples or scars on. Second, say you spot a chick in La Isla that you want to fuck. Are you going to wait 3 hours until her time comes up to dance on the stage in order to see her naked first? Then you find out she has a funky nipple or scars, you have just wasted 3 fucking hours.

I'm kinda newbie at this so guess that's GFE. Not really sure why she wants to spend so much time for the same amount of money but whatever, nice little weekend treat. Just the piece of advice I realized from this experience is that next time I go to La Isla (or really any casa I'm taking girls home from) be super picky of the girl cause it's not just a 30 min time I'm getting myself into but possible a whole weekend experience so for the time spent its worth getting your ideal girl.

Joe, I speak for a lot of readers. In El Poblado, by Parque Lleras, there is a hidden place above a bar with hookers? How obvious are they, and when was this? I fucking scrapped my ass into every club or bar last November and I got was one or two waiters that would point at ugly drunk chicas and ask me if I wanted to put jizz in their mouth.

Actually there are several casas that I go to close to downtown that are like that. Sit in the den on couches and drink with your buddies and the girls or go out on the balcony and do the same. They will even go get you food if you want. Then you can go into one of the bedrooms and fuck for 40 K.

The girls want 300 k in house. Girl quoted me 800 K TLN but got her down to 500 k. Left with a girl after a few over priced drinks. She spent about 2 hours with me before heading back to the club or at least that's where the uber dropped her off.

Note on tips. Girls expect at least 2 k. Anything more than that is bonus to them, no tip and they will haggle you later so just get a 50 k note changed and hand it out.

The girl I took home wanted my number (Colombian SIM of course for whatsapp. She wanted facebook and my us number but fuck that noise) and to hangout the next day. She blew my phone up the next day wanting to hangout, seriously like 5 calls and 4 texts before I responded. I met her for lunch after an Escobar tour of the city and she was waiting at the spot with a 20 min heads up. After like 10 hours of hanging out; lunch, tour of her neighborhood, sex, pool, dinner, drinks, sketchy strip club, she said she wanted money. She started with 1 million pesos, but I negotiated her down to the same as the night before so 680 k. I balked at the extra 180 k cause we weren't at the club then she started saying things like "well we don't want problems do we, La isla is 5 minutes from your apartment. ". Not so subtly got the impression that 180 k was so I don't get robbed or whatever.
