What do you do during the day (12 pm to 8 pm)? I'm bored as hell during those hours.

Nothing to do.

I'm spending only three nights in Medellin for my first trip since I'm also enroute to Peru and Panama as well. That's really only two full days in town which I intend to spend in addition to a casa visit each day, a visit to Comuna 13 and take the cable car up to Parque Arvi. I also like to sample local food so will be spending time at local restos too. If I had more time, I would take day trips out of town too. I think there seems to be quite a lot to do during the daytime there, not just mongering.

Reminds me of the immigration officer at Bangkok international airport many years ago in the days when I used to visit Thailand frequently. He looked at my passport and said to me "You like Thailand girls, eh" with a big smile on his face. He further said "Thailand girls very beautiful, eh".

I could write a long post about this, but to keep it simple. I use a portable mini-router that is VPN connected to a reliable VPN provider (exiting in the US). It allows no traffic if VPN is down. I connect that mini-router to the place I am staying local wifi. Then my work laptop is connected to it. My work phone (I keep that separate from a personal one) has GPS / location and cellular turned off BEFORE I leave the US. I connect it to the router too, wifi calls allowed. This would not work with highly secure equipment (which can have additional GPS capabilities inside phone or laptop), but for 90% of all corporate setups this works perfect. This gets you to appear as if still in the US. I also use the same VPN at home, so corporate security sees my traffic ALWAYS originating from the same place when I am home or not. There are other methods to increase stealth level (wireguard to a home network, etc.) - but this general setup works great for my corporate setup.

I get this part and I currently use gli router with vpn. But challenge with phone is you can't carry it outside room (if you want to bang in lunch break) and to check email or attend teams. Looking for solution to it.

I get the proxy part for laptop but how do you route company phone? Do you turn of cellular network and just use phone via proxy VPN WiFi?

The tolerance in tap water could be quite different between travellers and locals too. Just because locals could drink the tap water doesn't always mean that we could since the stomach flora inside could be quite different from living in different regions for most of our lives.

You just need to get one of these water filters. I've had this one since Feb 2023 and it works great. You just fill it up with tap water and it filters out all the bacteria.

There's different shops that sell them or on Facebook marketplace you can find them cheap I think I got this one for 60 mil.

Also when the water goes out you still have drinking water.

Uh, there was no agent in the foreigner's line, and she knew it. If it was a question of being in the wrong line, she would have said that up front. It was leafing through the passport and seeing how many Colombia stamps I had that pissed her off. I was there. You were not. You are making shit up to make yourself feel better.

That is great. It reminds me of when in the USA the police left guys seeing hookers alone until they did not. Everyone was convinced that the cops were going after people seeing trafficked women The police said otherwise and said that if you were seeing pros, you were supporting trafficking and few believed the police were serious. Then they did stings arresting thousands including billionaire Robert Kraft. That was a huge reason I gave up the hobby in the USA.

And guys were in denial until they were not. They had no issues with LE until they did.

The Colombian government is not after Cheap Charlies, but pedis, regardless of price. Get over yourself.

The first repercussions of the discovery of a USA Citizen with two girls, aged 12 and 13 respectively, in a luxury hotel in Medelland's El Poblado neighborhood were announced on Monday. My gal and her daughter were behind me and were going to use the bio mig line so I went ahead. Well, the customs agent looked with absolute disgust at all the Colombia stamps on my passport, and she was about to send me to the foreigner line which had just opened and would have been a long wait. Anyway, my gal and her daughter passed by my line just then and smiled and the customs woman asked who is that, and I said my GF and she saw that I was there so often to be with them and not a bunch of hookers, and she stamped the passport, smiled, and let me through. I wish you could have seen the disgust in this woman's face versus the smile she gave me. It was unreal how quickly her emotions changed.

So for all this talk of simps and guys "ruining the market" by overpaying, it is actually those very guys, the cheap charlies, hanging in places like Centro and Parque Lleras that the Colombian government is after.

I would love to know which hotel you stayed at. I am not into clubs or streets. I am in Medellin in a few weeks, thinking of just sticking to calling girls from lacelestina.

I have not reported in a while. I thought I would post a quick note from a veteran. I just completed a one week trip to Medellin. By far my best trip so far on three of four years. I don't do streets and stopped clubs a while ago. I do strict ID check and I don't do Airbnb and use hotels with good protocols. Keeping those factors in mind, I had a great time. Parque Lleras has cleaned up a lot but still ways to go in my opinion but is so much better now. You can actually walk the streets without bumping into a dozen, clearly underaged hookers. Provenza is nicer too. Hope it stays this way and continue to be cleaned up. Cheers.

BTW, clubs open till 2 am in Zona Rosa and outside the zone, till 4 am.

I don't know what percentage of attractive 18 to 30 girls are hookers but I'm sure it's high. The temptation to monetize your beauty on SA or tinder is high, especially if you can pick the guys you want to be with vs working at a casa where you don't have that option.

How odd. Many foreigners from many countries travel at sometimes great expense to be with these "hood ass hookers" and use up their entire vacation time to be with them. Seems like you said before that nearly half the Colombian women are prostitutes. So nobody cares about half the women in Colombia? Just because they sell themselves does not mean they are bad people. One man's ugly duckling is another man's swan. So yes many guys local and foreign care about these women. I am one of them.

Yeah, it is pretty scary when you see these girls before they turn into adults. I met an engineer making $900 a month, and if my gal's daughter became an engineer and learned that other women were making 2 or 3 X what she was on her back, I would be afraid she might get discouraged and / or quit her studies. It is hard to stay motivated when they payoff is years down the line.

And one of her friends is an amazing dancer. She has the spinner build that you do not see much in the Latin world and would be in huge demand in the monger world if she kept her figure for a few years, but she has very big plans in the dancing world. It would be tragic if she did not pursue her dream and for whatever reason had to turn to the monger world to make ends meet.

I never said half of Colombian women are prostitutes. That is not my rationale at all. That seems to be from guys that only deal with hookers, therefore they assume most women are hookers. I mostly deal with women that are not hookers so I do not see the country that way.

I also never said hookers are bad people. Are you saying that you give a rat's ass about people paying to fuck the hookers where you are from? This is just another one of those old gringo tales they use to make themselves feel superior to the locals. I think you misunderstood my post. My post was actually putting down the foreign mongers that think the local people are jealous of them. Does them doing that make them any kind of a man?
