StudPlayer's post is accurate from everything I've seen over the past month in the Parque Llera area and ventures out of the vicinity. I'll address his post further down.

Everyone has their own desires and circumstances which shape their perspective which I think posters often fail to mention in giving trip reports. So before continuing here's mine: I'm experienced in the scene and have been to many of the frequented babe hunting scenes around the globe. I'm only interested in top-notch quality and not afraid to go home empty-handed on a night out. I'm in a favorable position in terms of ability to travel for extended periods of time and finances. I don't speak Spanish.

It's my third trip back to Medellin and came here with the intention to spend several months here, possibly relocate. I've been here a month this trip. So if you can relate to any of the above then perhaps my experience will provide some insight.

Here are the places I've visited:

The Mansion- It's a good place to acclimate when you get here fresh off the boat. The staff is relatively friendly and helpful. It's relatively inexpensive. There are a couple nice looking women but in general the quality level is not high. To be fair and not without trying to be mean, they're comparably super babes when measured against the condition of some (repeat: "some") of the male guests.

Fase 2 (Phase 2 in English) - This is by far the best place in terms of quality babes, lighting, and relatively gringo friendly. The private rooms are surprisingly nice, a thatched hut cabin design. Although resident gringos may gripe about the price, for the quality of the babes the prices are ridiculously cheap. I had no problem getting numbers on the bar area without having to go to a room and I've had perhaps the top girl coming over to my apartment for visits.

Club La Isla- The babe quality is a notch below Fase 2 The dancers also aren't as personable. I got several numbers in the bar area but the dancers don't follow through. Took a free-lancer to the back room which was very basic but clean. The minute the action was over she pulls out a joint and just filled the place with smoke which I didn't appreciate.

San Diego Club- It's dark and not as friendly an atmosphere. There were only a couple acceptable ones and I was able to get a number. She visited my apartment and was very nice although didn't look as good. I'd say you can skip this place.

New Life- This place wasn't my cup of tea. Imagine a hybrid of a run-down doctors office and a government motor vehicle office. You sit in a lobby waiting area stuffed with a lot of Colombian men and a couple of gringos. Then a bunch of mostly ugly girls walk out and tell you their name. I saw one decent one who was going home but even that wouldn't have mattered. I was grossed-out by the environment and fled the place.

Parque Llera- This place has all the makings of what would seem to be an ideal pick-up place. It has endless bar / restaurants and a vibrant atmosphere at least at first glance. And now here's where we get into Studplayer's post. The amount of men in the area is unbelievable, both gringos and Colombians. The gringo bars like Hooters and the Irish pub are virtually all English speaking men. Now, if there really were a lot of babes looking to ply their trade this would be a magnet for them but no such luck.

Yes, I understand there's been a "crackdown" and the city is trying to "clean the place up" but regardless of the reason they're just not to be found. Out of the thousands and thousands of people I've seen in Parque Llera I've seen probably less than five hot babes and these were civilians (mostly on dates). And this isn't just limited to that area, I've been in downtown on the busiest sidewalk at rush hour walking blocks and never saw anything. You couldn't go to any major city in the US and see less babes than you do here.

Now on the positive side, the temperature here is perfect although it rains a lot. It's relatively safe and comfortable to live in the Poblado area. For this reason I'm pondering whether to stay or move on.

If you speak Spanish you may well do very well for yourself here. Even if you don't it's possible that with enough time you can meet probably find a hot babe but they're certainly not coming out of the wood-work. For those non-spanish speakers who just want to have a blast for a few days doing the Panama City Habano's / Vento scene is probably a better choice.
