Have you been to Medellin recently? New Life recently has seen American sausage fests. Medellin is certainly heading towards a San Jose / Sosua experience. It has been gradually so for many years but the jump from 2015 to 2016 has been huge. I'm already looking for a new destination - my contribution to the reduction of the Yankee influx LOL.

Indeed, Medellin is seeing a boom. It seems English is now the language in Poblado. The Mansion is full with a wait, as is Poblado Rentals and First American. Even the hammocks and bunk beds in Jake's commune are getting booked.

Where does that leave our hobby? Depends on whether you're looking short or long term. Short term, Medellin's homeless population has begun to migrate towards Poblado to welcome the new arrivals. The scams are getting bolder, and the chicas are probing to see how much they can get away with. I had to carry a rowdy hooker out of my friend's apartment last month because she insisted showing up was enough to be paid for. Refusing to fuck anyone, and simply saying 'Tengo ir, pagame'. There isn't a list of gringo bars that I know of, probably because there aren't enough gringo bars to make a list. Much of South and Central America don't care for gringos (Gringo: someone who gets mad at natives because they don't understand English, even when spoken loud and slow).

Why would anyone traveling want to find a Gringo bar? Every state in the US is full of Gringo bars. Most cities have areas with hotels, restaurants and bars that cater to to tourists. Everything costs more, but there's a good chance you'll find someone who speaks English. Just go on TripAdvisor and look for areas with lots of hotels with bad reviews for silly reasons: "housekeeping did not speak English", "only 2 English channels on the television", "no ice machine", "restaurant menus aren't in English". You've found the Gringo zone.

A much better option is to read the forum and other forums if your looking for non-mongering information. Learn some Spanish, for about $40 you can get a course complete with CDS. Just knowing the difference between caballeros and damas is a big help.

The first (and last) time I went to San Jose was about 10 years ago. Outside of casas the chica union was in full effect. CIEN. Thats the answer every chick said right out the gate.

Sosua aroord the same time was still the wild west. Anything was game. IMO the fact that it's basically a one road town and closest to the US (easy access) makes it a prime candidate to be ruined first.

It really isn't a problem. In most cases the guy who's ready to spend $200 for a prepago, finds the prepago he likes and pays her regular price, or he limits himself to the prepagos who are already charging that much.
