I'm pretty sure it is not illegal to be in a hotel room or anywhere else with people of that age. So, assuming he was not caught red handed and assuming the girls did not lodge a complaint, Colombia could conceivably have been on the wrong side of a habeas corpus claim if they locked him up. I've seen conflicting reports about whether he was detained. I haven't yet seen information about the basis of reported arrest warrants. The local media are characteristically over the top when a foreigner is implicated in any major crime. I think a good way to understand the reporting is to compare to transportation deaths. Child abuse committed by Colombians would be the equivalent of automobile accident deaths, something that happens several time a day every day. By comparison foreigner involvement in that sort of crime would be the equivalent of airplane crash deaths. Think of how airplane crash deaths are reported versus automobile accident deaths are reported. One is a very rare event and the other is so frequent it doesn't make the news unless there is an extraordinary angle, like the Colombian who was almost lynched in Medellin this week over rumors he abused his very young stepdaughter.

The real question is why did they release him and allow him to leave Colombia if they had in fact found him in his hotel room with two 12 and 13 year old girls?

Authorities believe he is in hiding in the United States. As you stated, he left Colombia and his last known whereabouts is the United States. At 36 years old, if he doesn't try to leave the US and he has enough resources to get by for a couple of years he should be able to work his way into gigs that don't require stringent background checks. His prospects are clearly much worse than they were before this incident.

I don't think he is in Colombia. I read that the police released him and he immediately left the country. Of course, if they put him on Interpol, the places he can escape to are limited. My bet is that the Colombian authorities will not pursue him.

While there is some overlap, most of the girls in Poblado are not working in El Centro and will never work in El Centro for 50 mil. They are smart enough to understand the market in El Centro and would not ask for 250 mil in El Centro. But they will look for different ways to attract the same clients and will find them. Or as someone said, they will travel overseas to Costa Rica, Mexico or if they can, United States or Europe. They know their worth to foreigners and foreigners are willing to pay them more than El Centro girls if they are the type of girls that foreigners want. I rarely see the type of girls that I like in El Centro.

For example, lets say you are a plumber and you normally charge $150 and you think you are a good plumber. Business is slow and then a guy calls you up and says I will pay you $10 to fix my pipes. Now, you may say, $10 is better than nothing but I can assure you that the plumber would rather pass on the job than take an amount that he thinks is insulting due to pride and his thoughts on the value of what he offers. Most high end girls in Poblado will think the same way. If they are normally charging $50 or more, they aren't going to take $10.

But for now, actually, if you read some personal reports elsewhere, things haven't changed that much and the girls still hang around in Poblado.

I'm certainly not an expert on the park. But from what I could see. A ton of those girls were not getting action. I was there for a few hours and saw the same girls making laps. There were so many more girls than guys.

I left around 12:30 am though. But it seemed to me that a lot of them were not making a lot of money. But I guess if you get 2 x guys per week that way it's still good money. But it seemed like the girls in Tantra in Bogota getting 10+ guys per day would be making more money. But. Also fucking 10+ guys per day. Which is a trade off.

I don't really have a point. But it seemed like the girls were way over priced and there were so many more guys and there was no way a lot of those girls were getting regular clients. Plus. They are not making money when they are walking around for 3+ hours.

Perhaps this might result in more Colombian girls working in Costa Rica, Panama, St Maarten etc where rates there are higher and are generally safer too than in Colombia.

You can only go by the details reported by the local media and public officials. I mean who really knows what the actually details are depending on whether you trust media here. Judging on how they treat deceased or scolpomined gringos, It doesn't seem like any mongers are held in a favorable light like, as if we're expendable. I doubt they have due process here like they do in other first world countries. What if someone's FB arrangements start out looking 30 or more and something total different shows up like a girl a day shy of her 18th birthday. Are you even going to get a chance to say a word while theyslap cuffs on you or are they going to make an example out you regardless of the circumstances. I mean if he's guilty hopefully he gets everything he deserves. Hopefully they don't put us all in the same pot at least for political reasons.

There are at least 50 foreigners nearly every day in Centro (not so much Sunday). Look at the Youtube videos. There is a regular bench that several "rats" sit at least 3-4 times every week starting around 3:00 when the sun is not on them. There is 5 guys right there on that one bench. I was there during the covid lockdown and there were 4 of us foreigners in one hotel near the church at Centro when there were very few tourists what so ever. True, do not walk Centro after 8:30-9:00 pm.

Is anyone else receiving an unusually high number of friend requests from ladies on Facebook? Within the past week, I've received numerous requests every day. They appear to be legitimate ladies with a history of posts and numerous photos. Usually, I may get one request a week and most are from people who just created a Facebook profile.

I went through a stretch like that a few years ago, getting 10-20 friend requests per day. Eventually it returned to normal.

The girls will find a way. Enforcement by the police? Some discrete bribes by the nightclubs will take care of the matter. Girls will still be available. They are not going to arrest the girls and prostitution is not illegal so I think the girls will still be hanging around. More likely more of the girls will go online. So for guys who search for girls online, nothing really changes and there will be more girls available. As for girls in Poblado going to El Centro, that is not going to happen for most of these girls. They have established their market price and they aren't going to accept 40-50 mil. Not happening. They will find another way to find their customers for the same price. That is the beauty of seeing online girls. None of these changes affects anything.

This is wrong and you don't know the half of it. I can't take it you guys aren't being honest. I know a police officer in Medellin and he says they don't even report 1/20th of all the pedos getting caught. They are even setting up sting-like operations for people who use facebook now. The spot has been blown up. But guess what, passport bros will barely cancel any trip because they and all their 62-year-old white guy twice-divorced counterparts think they KNOW how to move better than everybody else. Idiots reading this post right now are thinking "awesome people are leaving so I'll be the only guy in a sea of women". It brings the "It will never happen to ME, I'll be extra careful" attitude until you find yourself talking to 3 police officers in your overpriced AirBnb with a girl who told you she was 18 but only to find out she just turned 17 and you are going to jail and your name is being published all over the news in the US. Life over! And who wants live in a city where you're always on edge because of the robberies or 20 something might put some thing in your drink while you're not looking. That stress is not worth it.

This place is bad right now, foreigners get robbed and drugged every day some having their entire life-savings wiped, and prices will go UP not down because Paisa culture is greedy! They don't think about getting more clients with less expensive rates, they are too selfish and dumb for that. They will raise prices to compensate. I've lived here for 7 years and I have never seen locals so furious. They are reporting gringos to the police now left and right. In my building, they've called the police on visitors 3 times in the last month. Locals are having neighborhood meetings about gringos, pedos and gentrification. And all of this happened because YouTubers convinced the whole world that Medellin is the only city in the world with beautiful women and good prices. I plan on traveling to a few of my other favorite cities OUTSIDE of Colombia (I'm not going to say where because you clowns will blow up the spot) where I can monger in peace and I'm moving out of the city by July. It is just too much, drugging, killings, and now the Mayor hiring an ENTIRE task force to catch gringos. No way man. The writing is on the wall.
