Just got back from Colombia, I am suffering from the Post Vacation blues. Can't wait to go back soon. I was there for 2.5 weeks, and while I was there, I went to Cali, Cartagena, Gutape and hacienda Napoles. My trip wasn't only for mongering, it was to explore, take photos, visit my Colombian friends. This is my 4th trip, 2008 was my last time when I was in Medellin so its been a while.

Sixttina Discoteca- this is a high end night club located at the Rio Sur, across from Oviedo Mall. My Colombian friend invited me out along with 2 of his female friends. 4 guys and 3 girls in my party. Entrance was 15-20 COP K? Don't quite remember. We got a table and a bottle of smirnoff was about 90 COP K. It wasn't anything extravagant to the nice Vegas night clubs but it was pretty modern. Most of the girls going to this club are with guy friends and its very rare to see "only groups of girls" the girls there are Hot! 75% of the women there were solid 7 or above. I felt like I was in some modeling convention. We had drinks, danced the night away. I end up making out with one of the girls who came with us.

Fahrenheit Discoteca-We went to this spot at 1 am, its a great after hour spots. Most of the crowd starts to pour in around 3 am. DAMN, you'll see so many beautiful women! My Colombian friend who took us to the clubs is very well off since he does business in USA and Colombia. Its good to have someone who is well connected and knows the in spots to go to and have a few non pro female friends. I made out with one of the girls who came and party with us. She doesn't speak English, my Spanish is limited. With my dance skills, being positive, always smiling and maybe my good looks helped out. Speaking Spanish and Learning how to dance is a must to get with a non pro Colombian girl. While there are a few cultural differences, the game remains the same but in different language. So speaking Spanish is a must!

Will be in Medellin in October for one week. Did some reading in the forum but still have some questions:

1) Which places to stay would you recommend? Was looking into Central Plaza Hotel, looks nice, seems good value for money, but a little far from where the action is. Any experience with Four Points by Sheraton, since I got a great offer there (but is it girl friendly if I book a double room? What are your recent experience with private places (via airbnb, etc.)?

1. Colombian diet is high in animal proteins and fats. Animal proteins and fats are good for you and do not cause abnormal blood lipids (excess carbohydrates do). The fats in the diet are also very satiating, meaning less food will be consumed.

2. Rice and beans form a complete protein. One could live exclusively on this diet and be healthy.

3. Typical Colombian walks 5-6 miles per day.

Hello friends, some days ago I went to Plaza Botero and at the back of iglesia Veracruz I found the Earthly Paradise.

The street is like Mayorista. But Mayorista is safe in the night while Plaza Botero is dangerous. But it is no a problem because.
