So why did you post this in the Medellin thread? Mmmm!

Here is what you posted! Sounds like you are full of it. LOL.

Food: MDE. I like the variety more in MDE, but I do like the fruit in the DR.

Transportation: MDE. I would want my own car in SDQ because the cabs aren't metered and can have a gringo tax.

Housing: MDE. You get more bang for your buck in MDE.

Weather: MDE. SDQ can be very hot, especially in the summer (bring your sun tan lotion if you have fair skin).

Quality of life: MDE. More upscale and modern overall, especially in touristy areas.

Economy: MDE. Seems like more people are doing well and working.

Education: MDE. People seem better educated.

Beaches: SDQ. Boca chica, Juan Dolio, etc.

Street Hustlers: SDQ. Can't escape them, even in Gazcue. For me this is one of the worst things about that area.

Lively Vibe: SDQ. Paisas are much more laid back compared to Dominicans. Dominicans dance!

Didn't know if you knew or not, but I suggested that because you might get more responses and it might help others looking for the same kind of info for the DR in those threads. Excuse me for trying to be helpful and prompting your gay slur.

    Swimming in putang?

Man you crack me up. You are so full of yourself.

When I read your posts I am reminded by that old comercial: "where is the beef".

1- if you were swimming in "putang". LOL what are you doing now paying to eat hard core pussy?

2- where are your fotos to back up anything? Go look at my fotos here and on WSG!

3- you've been asking "Manizales911" one question after another, but can you contribute NOW?

Post a foto, write an informative report. In another word be relevant! And stop moderating the thread!

Inland, freshwater. My ex novia's father tells me there is good trout fishing but I don't know what his definition of "good" is, we'll see.

What would you say is an accurate narrative of the non-pro women and Dominicans in general from your experiences?

Where are the good clean beach towns you recommend for me to settle in and find a rental?

Can I find a safe decent furnished house / apartment under $300 USD per month?

I'm in my early forties and like the college age decent girls. I'm good with Spanish and people and I want to plan a nice long (3-6 months) term trip there.

    PM me if you prefer.
You should ask this in the DR section.

    Hmmmm.

I buy that it is a very very prosperous country (Superpower) and deserves credit for that.

But "have less problems than any other country".

Human development index, pure statistics, tells Us a completly different story.

All western Europe countries are ahead in that fundamental aspect, and even a country that suffered for comunism for 45 years, Chech Rep. Is ahead of the US.
Really? FYI the USA ranks #3 in the world on the human development index behind Norway and Australia. Western Europe being a better place to live than the USA, you've got to be kidding me.

I think as time goes by I will miss the USA Less and less but I will have a place to crash in the USA For the foreseeable future.

If it were not for the hot weather I probably would have tried living in the DR, I just got back from there on Wednesday and it was hot as fuck, I can only handle it for 5-7 days at a time. I have been going to the DR on a very regular basis for ten years, I have a lot of friends there both with and without benefits. I don't know of any place in the western hemisphere that can compete with the DR for price, safety, ease of travel and great sex from the girls.

Cuba not easy to travel to, Rio expensive and far, Panama expensive girls and they're mostly Colombians and Dominicans, Costa Rica mostly Colombians and Dominicans and just plain sucks, El Salvador ugly girls and some safety concerns. Haiti would be on my radar big time if I spoke the language but I don't,it has huge potential despite it's problems.

I don't live in Medellin, I live in a small city outside of Manizales, not a big fan of the big cities.

New Colombian Patriotismand Good Old American Patriotism!

All western Europe countries are ahead in that fundamental aspect, and even a country that suffered for comunism for 45 years, Chech Rep. Is ahead of the US.

But I like the good old American patrioism, it keep the American spirit alive!

After todays victory over Uruguay and, if Colombia wins over Brasil next Friday, the country will be in the focus of the worlds attention. For a good reason!

Then journalists will start to report about all the good stuff that has happend here, a result of 40 years hard work!

Medellin is considered to be the best place for foreign companies who wants to invest in Latinamerica and Wall Street journal awarded Medellin 2013 the "most inovative city in the world" over New York and Tel Aviv.

Colombians have been waiting for this moment for years, decades, that their country finally will be respected.

My personal opinion is that Colombia has a very long way to travel and can never make it!

Spain left dictatorship 1975 and exploded economically, culturally and knowledge wise.

I noted recently that Madrilenos many times speak very good English, at least without the typical Spanish accent. Only real effort achieves that!

Spain made a transition from a conservative corrupt country to a up-to-date democracy in a few decades.

    They made it!

    In Colombia no.

    Few people speak English.

    University quality is a joke!

If this and that blaha-institution is a "Universidad", then Kindergarten is!

This country or Latinamerica as a whole will never make it, poverty is permanent, mobilization is in fact low if one calls things by their real name.

    But today Colombia is victorious!

When you sit down and do the research you will realize that more things come into play when moving abroad than you would think. Unless you are willing to live in a suitcase and leave the country every few months for a visa run you must go through the legalized visa process and it ain't pretty. Would you really want to disclose your financial information to a colombian bank or a bank in the DR? How would you get your medicines not available in your host country ? I looked that up for Peru and I would have had to go to the national department of health and then the customs broker to get approval. There are so many other things to consider it would be tedious to list them all.

I think it makes sense for guys to keep a US address (ie. credit rating). It is useful for many reasons. Otherwise I'd like to find somewhere that I'd like to spend 6 months out of the year but I haven't found it yet. If I did I could probably save a lot of my mongering budget by getting a discount on a long term rental.

There is nothing wrong with Amercia. It's got great potential but people and govt like to F it up. It's mainly the Govt these days but that's a different subject. Give me the USA of the 70's and 80's and I'd be a patriot once again.

Manizales911- What do you do to keep occupied in Manizales? I would go nuts in a little town after a few days.
The visa issue for me was the least of my problem as I automatically qualify for a residency visa as I am the father of a Colombian national.

No need to do business with a Colombian bank if you don't want to other than paying certain bills, and actually without a visa you will have a tough time opening an account so no need to bother, just keep your money in a USA Bank and withdraw as needed.

If you have a visa you can and must obtain health insurance here and it is dirt cheap, then you can get whatever prescriptions you need. I've never heard of anyone not being able to get a particular medicine here. If you are living here part time six months a year on a tourist stamp 60 or 90 days at a time just bring the meds with you from the USA Remember that you can get most meds without a prescription here, only narcotics require a prescription. I am fortunate in that I have my health for now, I'm about to turn 57 and am not on any meds at all.

In my opinion the USA is still the greatest country in the world and has less problems than any country but like I said, that's my opinion.

I would love to be able to eliminate my physical USA Residence because of the cost, I am paying property tax and insurance on a place that I don't spend a hell of a lot of time at but I'm not quite ready for that yet. I will always keep my bank and investment accounts in the USA And a USA Address. There are companies that will give you an address and either forward all your mail to Colombia on a monthly or bi monthly basis or they will scan it al for you and you can tell them to throw most or all of it away after you look at it online.

Artisttyp, I spend my days right now looking for a small finca (farm) to purchase. I have always raised a few animals and had a vegetable garden so that is my plan, maybe a small working farm with coffee and avocado. My other hobby is fishing, I haven't gotten my fishing equipment here yet though, I don't think there is any good fishing here anyway but we'll see. I also have been going back to the gym again. And of course spending time online looking for new "talent".

There are too many things that a person takes for granted while living in the USA That you will miss if living full time in a third world country. Don't get me wrong, I love it here and that's why I made the move but after about a month I need a change of scenery, maybe that will change with time as I haven't been here long.
