Also if you pay for dinner (which only need cost about 4 USD) they will be happy to show you around the city if your nice to them. Obviously you will need to speak some Spanish.

I totally agree. I haven't been to Mayorista in years. However, some like that atmosphere. Drinking and looking at chicks and trying to find that diamond in the rough. Heck, it's where the infamous Geraldine was found!

i signed up at the camino real gymnasia on the 4th floor of centro commercial near la oriental and la playa for 100.000 for 30 days (the minimum) then damn near killed myself on the elliptical and weight machines. then while lumbering back to the hotel i was handed one of those tiny slips that advertise a casa for 27.000 for 30 minutes. i am a real sucker for those and just got'a look them up. it was on 44th something (sorry but i will get the address and report it later). when they finally answered the bell i went up and there were 5 guys waiting. they were all happy and drinking rum and i sat with them and beat them up with my cro-magnon spanish. they kept feeding me rum. 1st mistake. (bad idea for me, very bad but it was free) as i was presented with about 8 different ok-looking girls over about 15 minutes. i was feeling pretty good when the mama san came in and asked me to choose. gee lady, i just wanted to drink all day. i chose a flaca blonde who was pretty good so when we were done, i let her type her phone # into my new $25 phone. then back to business with my best buddies. they loved to hear about africa, the philippines etc. and kept the rum flowing. so i left and lost the damn paper but i will find the place again! i had the taxi drop me off in mayorista.

i knew enough to stay put somewhere till i sobered up a bit so i sat in a restaurant and had chicken when the black gal from monday came up. i was a bit pissed because she was supposed to come to my hotel but didn't even call. big surprise. i told her to buzz off. 2nd mistake. i started feeling a bit more normal, for me, and walked around the skanky neighborhood. i promised that this time i wasn't going to get into trouble as i did 7 years ago. i talked up a few girls but none met the ridged bottom feeder criteria of price and looks. then in one bar i met some guys who were generous with the rum. 3rd mistake. yes, i am a fool. then i met senorita milk. aw shucks. my weakness. we talked and talked and i drank mucho coffee trying to overcome the alcohol. she was getting impatient. then i went into the bathroom to [CodeWord134] and count my money. as i was counting, she reached in and grabbed about 80 k out of my hands. i grabbed her by the hair and banged her against the wall. she gouged my arm with her fingernails but i didn't feel it until later. i wrestled the money out of her hand and she ran out. i was bleeding like a pig from my arm. the other patrons looked at me in terror. me, mello bottom feeder. i casually walked out. i had several strands of her hair in my hand. i guess my milk maiden is off of the list for now. aw sh- moral to the story. never take any advice from bottom feeder!

Can someone give me a a quick a few lines on Santo Domingo in comparison to Medellin? I have spent a total of a year in Medellin so know the city very well but have no idea at all about SD. I am in to the cheaper end of the market and I like to go out and have a good time with the locals.

You need to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

Hotels. They are about a wash for a decent place to live. However, Medellin has lots of cheap accommodations as well (15-20/ night).

Mansion vs Del Rey. Depends. Del Rey obviously has more girls. Del Rey ST: $60-120 (GFE need to negotiate), Mansion ST: $75 (GFE almost guaranteed). Del Rey LT: $200-300 (I did not see any decent looking chick willing to go for less), Mansion LT: $100-150 (not all girls will do it).

Casas. CR: $50/ half hour, Medellin:15-20/50/100 (and up. There are low end, mid level and high end casas).

Stripclubs. CR: $100? (annoying that you have to keep buying lady drinks to talk to girls but at least you don't have to tip). Medellin: $40/75/100. (no need to buy lady drinks but have to constantly tip. 50 - $1.) Pricing in Medellin down into low end / mid level / high end. Same for pretty much everything. The fairest comparison to CR to Medellin is a mid level stripclub.

Medellin can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be. There are guys that are content with staying near Mayorista and getting Mayorista / casa girls all day.

Also, Medelln has a great social network. It seems like all the girls are online and you can get a hookup for anywhere from free to $100.

Sometimes I do miss the freelance scene, but when I do, I just go to Cartagena instead where there is a beach as well.

CR is just too hardcore for me. You want to hang out with a girl? You have to pay her by the hour. Medellin chicas will hang out with you for free!

It was some kind of holiday but las chicas didn't seem to take the day off. I started at Conejitas Bar Show (Strip Club) and against my better judgment took Sophie upstairs for 30 min which they cut to 25. I was pissed. No tip, no return. Then I went to Mayorista and found a tiny black girl. She had the eyes of a criminal. Just my type. She said 30 k for an hour and said that she was honesta. OK then, let's give it a go. She gave great service even if she kept trying to up the price. Lo siento babe. I kept re-arranging her head to the right location over my pistola. She worked hard, had a sexy body. At the end she was spent and sweatier than me. Aw gad it was wonderful, even a little milk. I paid her and she was happy but I felt a little guilty. Me! Bottom Feeder guilty! I gave her a 10 k tip. She crossed herself and said a quick prayer! Well, I gota do her again! Then I caught a taxi and had the bugger take me to YAKUSA. I call him a bugger cause he farted around for 15 minutes. I even dialed the phone number and handed him the phone which he refused. Finally we arrived. It was 10 meters from my hotel, Plaza Botero. The meter said 10 k. I told him that he could have talked to them 5 k ago and told him to fuck off and gave him 5 k and staired him down. This I never do but. He left. I paid 40 k for 30 minutes but the gal actually spent about 45 with me as we laughed a lot. Hey, I was spent. She gave me her phone # and the address of her gymnasio where I'm going to meet her now.

Hola mongers, some years ago I went to Valledupar and Barranquilla. In these towns there were a lot of casas with many girls who were waiting for customers. Girls were normal girls and they did normal jobs like in hairdressers, supermarkets etc. Etc. But they wanted to supplement their income. You could pick up a girl for the night immediately, as soon as the customer arrived, without problem. You were talking with a girl and you can take out her for the night (and she was enough cheap too). I don't think if "casa" is the right word but I liked a lot those options.

I'm reading posts on Medellin Forum but I am noticing Medellin is very lacking about hose options or. Here guys don't know those kind "casas" Some info?

I could tell you to RTFF but I won't,I'm not an a-hole. Here are your answers:

No chica fee at the Medellin Plaza.

The girls are freelancers so you technically can negotiate whatever fee you can but they pretty much have a little 'union" of sorts there and the fee for ST is 150 K.

Many girls frown upon LT because they either feel as though they can make more doing several ST's in a night or they have kids at home, but it's going to be about 350 K.

Quality of girls is subjective, I'll leave that question alone.

Sounds like San Jose is perfect for your game plan and budget, though the Mansion is plentyful and fun too.

The Mayorista is not for the Gringo Gulch SJO type guy.

Takes time and patience there really to strike gold.

One thing for sure is, most of those Colombianas on the circuit, that travel to SJO, Curacao and the Islands, are more hardened and professional than the native Colombiana.

Not always, but in general.

Hitting Colombia is more for the adventurer than the pure ease of Hotel del Rey and back, though one could spend his whole time in the Mansion if desired.

Me, well I'd choose the Mansion any day over the Gringo Gulch.

What about La Mayorista and picking up girl on the street, I am sure they would charge less, but are good looking ones and is the AREA SAFE.

At this point. When you factor plane ticket costs from USA to either Costa Rica or Medellin, the hotel costs, and girl costs.

I think at Del Rey for a weekend you can get more girls for a lot less then you would pay in Medellin.
