Quito. I got very sick just visiting for a few days. Was going to live there but could not handle the constant headaches etc.

Universities. Been checking out the various Uni's here in Medellin and the plethora of hotties at the various campuses. Went to Antioquia University up near the No Name Bar and La Manzana etc, and other places around Calle 67 and the hospital, see.

Actually met some older women from the hospital (30-40s) who speak ok English and got some dinner dates lined up and I will report on each after sucess or failure. My Espanol is horribly, ineptly hilarious with my thick accent. No-one understands me so I use the old bag interpreter in social situations and make her keep a phone on at all times so I can call her for help.

Went for a walk up to the Intercontinental Hotel to meet an old business contact (local wealthy business thug). He took me to the country club up the road near the K28 (?). Mainly families etc but the mate had several betties lined up for dinner. 2 were late 20's Paisas say 87/100 and one was exactly my type, busty (fake) , pretty face and some English skills (95/100). She said she was 22 but I am guessing more like 30, which is fine cause I am old. Hooked up with her, but sadly it appears she is a full on pro and works for the VIP escorts (so she says). Useless sonofabitch tells me it is my problem, get used to it here in Colombia. I ring the interpreter who gets on the line to the WG and explains in succint detail what we agreed on. It appears the Prepago bint is arguing with my interpreter and getting louder and louder, much louder. (Do these bints have a local union or something). Fuck me, it turns into a telephone swapping + screaming match. I eventually get an agreement to just give the girl 200k for services rendered and I get her out of there asap after telling her that I DO NOT WORK for any government and nor can I be easily bribed or conned (well all evidence to the contrary this time). I will attach pictures of said bint which she took with my old phone, sorry quality is low. Her name is Mariella (Maniella?) , stay away at all costs. Conveniently, her English skills disappeared when she worked out my Spanish was near zero. Bint!

So overall, we live and learn but the hunt is the real process here. I will focus on the non p4p scene and then go hunting to pick off the weaker safer prey. My language skills or lack thereof is going to be a humorous impediment but we have done well in worse situations. In the end, charm or some $$$ loot works I find. BTW, at all times I was very nice to said lady and treated her as best I could with respect.

Has anyone used MDE as a starting point before heading to higher altitudes? I am researching the possibility of spending a few days in MDE before going on to Quito. I have been to Quito twice and eventually got over my illness but I'd like to make this less painful than it was on my previous trips. MDE made the most sense to me as a starting point.

I am looking for comments from people that have had trouble with altitude but came up with methods to make it easier for them.

Coca tea and all that other jive just doesn't work. Everybody reacts differently. *I need to do a slow ascent.

Yeah Coca tea didn't do much for me. I had a headache the first day in Cusco last September. I found that after doing a lot of walking up hills that got me a steady accelerated heart rate for a sustained period seemed to help. Maybe some cardio before you go? Get that body more efficient at using oxygen? Just a thought, no idea if it would work.

Also, there is a place about 3 blocks from parque botero (fat statues) but not that safe. I am known to venture and I didn't feel safe. But there are lots of 6-7. And very few 8-9s.

The OP is asking for a bar scene ala classicos, passions in the DR, Help Rio or Phillipines like Lollipops, LDV in Cartagena.

Even thought mayorista is open in the day, there are only a very few working girls, low quality and it is not a daytime spot, el centro is seedy and dangerous at all times in my opinion and besides the few skanky looking girls hanging out on DeGreiff I know of no bar in el centro that is full of 20 plus girls with a plethora of different kinds of "quality"

I preferred Fase Dos even with the high prices and mechanical service, although I could see how the downtown Stripclubs could offer goods for the more experienced monger.

The strange thing is I just could not find a bar, much less a district, to do my shopping. Theres the street downtown (I forget the name, its the place for shortime and with the cheap hotels) but I'm talking about a bar full of prepagos. I just couldn't find one in all my time there.

Part of the probem was my friends down there were not with the program so to speak, so I would have to slink off at the end of partying to do my thing.

But I got to wondering, is there no bar scene in Medellin?

I mean the strip clubs obviously, and picking up reg girls is time consuming but not difficult, but I mean a bar scene like say, Pattaya or Sosua?

Or even, like one bar like that?

Two days in Medellin, the best casa in my opinion are:

There are no bars like "HELP RIO rip, TEQUILLA ROCKS Lima, PASSIONS Sosua, PATTAYA, Lots of casas and some night time strip clubs though. Maybe you should check out Cartagena next time and visit ELECTRA, TU CANELA and LA DOLCE VITA for freelancers AND a beach like Pattaya or Sosua!!
