In the States its all about envy and jealousy. The men give angry looks because they are married to whales while the women are irked because they feel you should date women closer to your own age....like them.

For whatever reason, yeah, the steaks in Colombia are tough. I am not sure if they tenderize them enough or what. I went to a place last night and finally had one that was not tough.

I think what is happening because I have had friends with same experiences is it's the type you are choosing. At Andres you order the Llomo el trapo! It's amazing and better than most I get in the USA. (Stipulation I live in the Midwest but don't buy $100 steaks either) but my friends ordered the tomahawk and they ended up moving my steak! I have been to other steak places here and imo wasn't as good. So I think it's all opinions but try that out. Ask locals what they think or what's the best.

You would think so, but that was not my experience.

Last summer my Colombian girlfriend came to the US to visit me, right in the Bible belt. The first time was for 5 days, the second time she stayed for 7 weeks.

We stayed in hotels together, went to a theme park, a baseball game and other tourist attractions. Went to malls, stores and restaurants, even to my favorite small town diner. I introduced her to most of my family and even my landlady, who has a daughter the same age. The only bad look we got was from a Walmart greeter. Granted, 1 of my sisters refused to answer the door when we showed up, but she's a hardcore racist. Everyone else treated us just fine. A few older women even made a point of saying how beautiful she was.

I'm 60 and she's 20.

However, I'm completely comfortable with it. If I was worried what others would think it might have changed the way others reacted to us.

In the America that I know, which is big cities, it would attract a lot of attention and a lot of scorn and negative comments. It is not a normal age gap for America and it does attract a lot of disgust. It also attracts a large number of young fit men with game gravitating towards your girl and trying to hit on her. I always thought that the Bible belt cities were even more judgmental but perhaps I am wrong. If that is the reaction in your city and she is still with you all the more power to you bro. To get a visitor visa for your girl to visit the United States is even more impressive if true.

1. Parque Lleras is still closed. It has already been a year. At the slow rate of progress, it looked to me like they were at least two months from finish. That wold mean April.

2. Since the park is closed, most of the girls were on Calle 10.

3. The majority of the girls around LLeras were Venezuelan.

4. I stayed one night in Hotel Dix. It allowed Columbian visitors, but not Venezuelan visitors (unless they had Columbian identification).

5. Every girl asked for tres cientos mill (300,0000) and settled quick and easy for dos cientos mil (200,000).

Let's make sure everyone understands the park is being remodeled yes! But everything around is open and girls all around etc. It's not closed!

It wasn't difficult at all. She already had her visa. The current waiting list to get an appointment to get a tourist visa at the US Embassy in Bogota is close to 2 years.

Have you seen a 20 yr guy making out with a 60 yr old woman in public? Thank god, I haven't, because it would be disgusting to see (but totally legal). This is no different from a young girl who graduated high school just a couple of years ago making out with a grandpa in public.

60 yo woman is not fertile anymore so it's unnatural and pointless. 60 yo man + 20 yo woman are both fertile (presumably) so nothing wrong with that.

BTW the fancy Andres Carne de Rez steak house on Ave Poblado is huge, very nice, but the rib eyes and Tbone were dry and tough, I could not through with a steak knife or chew through it, had to abandon after a couple bites. Same problem with the other famous steakhouses in El Centro, bland and very tough steaks. Looks like they butcher very old, worn out bovines. Went to the Italian chain restaurant inside Santa Fe mall, got really juicy, tender rib eyes.

Andres sucks. I've had plenty of steaks in Medellin and none of them are like the shoe leather you'll get at Andres.

What do you mean difficult to get a visa? What is the difficulty in it? You fill out the application and pay the money and turn in the required paperwork at the interview and they tell you yes or no. Either you qualify and are approved or you are not qualified and denied.

Planning a month long trip to Medellin and I'm interested in high end Casas that cater more to locals with money.

I'm fully fluent in Spanish and really curious about one particular place that supposedly operates almost like a Brazilian Steak house? LOL. Supposedly you are seated in a nice restaurant type venue where the talent arrive one by only a a robe for them to show you all their goods before the next one comes in. I keep hearing there are several discreet venues like this in Medallo. Any one know of such places?

I'd appreciate any info or PMs.

In Medellin, yep. Energy / Fantasias is in a classic old house, and your description fits how they do it. The chicas introduce themselves, each has a number on their robe. And at the end you make your choice. It is run like a casa, but a higher price point than the centro casas. Located in Estadio area.

Why? There's no law against walking around with a girl 20 years younger. Worst case scenario someone makes a rude comment, although that's unlikely. Nasty looks just get a big smile and "have a great day. ".

As other Centro rats know, most of the girls did not work within the now closed off area. Now that those who used to have to join all the others around and behind the church it only makes them easier to engage.
