    Hi Ledrak,

I liked your reports on Medellin.

Could you please tell me what were the best places for you to find girls?

I don't understand how you could fuck pros for free (the first time...) Where did you meet them ?

Were you alone in the bars/clubs or with a wing ?

    Cheers

    Paisasdivinas news

    All right.

You guys who are in Medellin now are some lucky bastards. =)

I heard Camila and Jennifer returned for few days before the Christmas. Probably they come back to work after Christmas again.

Camila has her phone number on the page now and Jennifer can be contacted only by the manager of the page. Their number is 311 601 2986

Also there is a newbie that made my jaw drop to the floor. Sofia woow she looks so fresh and cute. (I just imagined because face is blurred)

If I was in Medello I would call her now!

If you guys try her please let us know how is she!

    Have to go. Buena suerte!!

I know you don't like Las Lleras vibe, well I love it, I picked some cute rich girls and made good friends even with the hippies selling art crafts, Porbaly is my way of being, friendly and not sexually aggressive with the "regonelas" (rich colombian girls) People there is not as snobby as most say, (my experience though)

We went to this Reggae club there, the best in town IMO Voodoo. I just remember the mane, I was high last time I got off from there I guess. I though was Mojo or something like that. LOL

I had to google it to get the address

    Here.

Voodoo DanceHall & Reggae Club Calle 9 # 40-44 Parque Lleras, next to the old Tropical Cocktails

They usually have Live Bands on the weekend days. Mostly locals and national bands, some times Caribbean bands.

I like Alerta, Ronny Congo, Yoyo, Gondwana, Coffee Makers etc. Most of the time there is no cover in the place. So find a girl with "gripa" (pot) get your anti terrorist mask and have fun LOL.

I don't like poblado. I find it to be "way out" there. There is literally no reason for me to be there minus a few restaurants. The bar scene in parque lleras isn't my thing. However a cool *reaggae club would be great to visit.

I hang out in the casas. There is no way I could go back and forth from the metro or take cabs all the time. Living on a crowded metro while on vacation would make this new yorker pissed off!

Medellin is a bummer that way. You need to hang in your own area or make alot of effort to get someplace else. The 5pm rush hours makes things difficult too.
    Artisttyp,

I agree with you. I went to Medellin during "fiesta de las flores". I thought it was better that in a different time but I was disappoint. Everybody speaks very well about Medellin but I don't like it much. Some years ago I was at Poblado, I slept at a 5 stars hotel (I don't remember its name) but I was as well as a prison. Every place from Poblado was far. The bar scene in parque lleras was full of girls but it isn't my thing. I have a clear conception of Medellin. It is not my favourite town. The next year I'd like to visit Colombia again because I think that in Colombia every town is different than Medellin, I hope!

What I don't like about the Gran Hotel is that it is located off of "oriental". When it gets late at night and you are in the plaza botero area it can be a LONG DARK walk to oriental. Passing parque bolivar at 1am is no fun trust me. I don't like being tied down to taxis either.

There are some hotels a few blocks from botero plaza and the metro. I will investigate these on this upcoming trip.

I'm not paying $60 and up to stay in laureles when I can get the same for around $25 in the centro.

However "yes" safety is an issue.
Well, if cheap is what you're after, your centro options are practically unlimited. A couple of the safer of the cheap are:

Nutibara Plaza (cylindrical thing across from the main Hotel) $58, 000 pesos

Hotel Eupacla (a block over) $50, 000. Get a room on the side where you can oversee the Nutibara pool.

Gran Hotel much more comfortable though, if you can afford the two-dollar and fifty-cent cab fare.

BTW, what would you be wantng to do at night on the other side of the metro line by botero plaza. Unless you're on a tranny hunt?

For that rate or little more, you can as well stay in one of the smaller hotels in Poblado, where you can actually walk around at night without getting mugged.

    Just my 5 cents worth.

So yes, is exactly the same as before, the Amsterdam from Latin America.

PD: Weird. All clubs in Medellin are free smoking, (I love that, they should do this in BAs, people there are the most heavy smokers in LatAmc), but how this club managed to get a permit for smoking pot? Who knows.
Can you recommend a reggae club ?

Thanks for the maps but I've not been able to use them on my Iphone. If I copy them from an email attachment, they are to small to zoom on the Iphone. If I take a picture of them on my computer sreen, the quality is not good enough.

How do you get them into your Iphone in the good format?

Apoteosis had a very cute and hot dancer the day I was there, but she had no tities at all, she was the only one I liked, Day was very slow, first day in the new address.

La 53 has god number of cheap clubs, but yes, they are not that good.

Problem is that you need to be lucky to find an 8, I was lucky some days, some others I just touched base and fly.

That is exactly what I meant when I said that some days I don't want to be driving around. Taxi cabs are not free and at the end you spend more money looking for diamonds under the rocks.
Based on the lists.. It says that it's for the hour at Apoteosis. I just assumed it was for the hour and didn't know there was a half hour option. Both times I was there I only got half hour. I guess I'll ask next time if there are 1/2 hour and 1 hr options.

Yeah, these clubs are really hit or miss. My plans are always to hit the Centro clubs first.. If nothing, go to Apoteosis.. By around 2 which is when the Centro clubs close... I hit San Diego and Fase II (which close at 4) and try to pull them out for the night.

Can someone add to this ? I thought this was an interesting read.

The last time I was in Medellin there was the smell of pot everywhere.

Is this not the case anymore?

It's amazing how some of these SA countries do an about face.
The law is still being debated, and according to the average (okay, not so average) Colombians I was hanging out with is very unpopular. Seen as yet another directive from the US as to how Colombians should live their lives. Ironically these same Colombians are big fans of Urribe for what he's done to the FARC.

For now thing haven't really changed except for the cyclical gang leadership changes which lead to violence that affects the availability of drugs. There's been quite a bit of that in the barrios of Medellin recently (but it didn't seem to affect the flow of Marijuana to the gringo tourists I met.) The Paisa girl I took with me on a trip to Puerto Berrio hadn't brought enough Gripa with her and wanted to get some, so asked at the liquor shop. The answer was that the violence was hot in Puerto Berrio at that moment so we shouldn't go to the dealers, but that if we came back in half an hour a dealer might be available. Sure enough, half an hour later she got a Chocolate for 10K pesos. No one raised any thought of avoiding the police, just the gangs.

From what I have seen Colombians think a party requires four things: Rum, ice, pot and music. BTW I never saw anyone use anything stronger than pot. Doesn't mean it wasn't happening but if it was it was certainly kept quiet.

    Thank you for your responses.

50k for a half hour is the standard "centro" strip club pricing.
