You might not have noticed among the oldtimers there are also many drug addicts who hang on the benches nearer the catherdral. Less of a concern are the trans streetwalkers who work the area near the police station.

Passport Dog Kenny is a colorful nickname. I'm not familiar with his "work" but he should take care to maintain a low profile. Partly because of the pandemic, it's been pretty quiet on the foreigner prosecution scene in the past five years. He might not be aware of the sad end some of his predecessors have had. It is nothing you should try after dark. During daylight hours it's not a problem. The worst part of it is the block just east of Avenida Oriental that is an open air flophouse and latrine for street people. The odors will take your breath away. That's another reason I recommend following east then turn north (left).

Thanks for your feedback on your awesome visits. Wow looks like Energy is almost triple the rate of New Life then. But at least it sounds like both are worth visiting. I'll check on Sexy Amigas too.

If you stay there, you will see several anti sex tourist signs. In addition, you will sign that you will not bring prostitutes there. However, they do allow 3 guests per week free of charge. I have never had a problem there. But, I insist the girls I bring there dress appropriately. I would say if you are discreet, don't cause problems and aren't obvious, you won't have a problem. The security there is great. They did boot a few 18 year olds out last week, not because of girls but because of loud music and the entire floor smelled like weed. It is NOT a party hotel, so to anyone reading, please don't ruin this place. Also, if you are a 10-girl a week guy, at best you'll have to use a love motel in addition. But with common sense, it's a great place. Good location. For what you pay, you get great accomodations. And security is great. They check ID, make a copy and tell the girl that she's not leaving the door without me with her.

I've done that walk many times. I try to use different routes at different times to see different things. Daytime no problem with any of them, but always keep an eye out.
