As other reviewer have mentioned, BBVA now charges 15 mil per transaction for cash withdrawals. Upper limit is still 300 mil. Just heads up.

I just happened to stop by the BBVA ATM around the corner from the church today and I just so happened to remember your post, DonMedellin. So here's the proof to substantiate my claim. I have the date time and location on there too so you know it's not an old picture.

My point is based on the context. Not knowing the OP's taste, just based on that he expects 8-10, instagram type. IMO, it is unrealistic to do what the OP wants to do in 2. 5 days in Medellin for a new monger in those clubs which also start late, unlike Scandallo that starts around noon. I also actually did not say do it in 2. 5 days because the other number he mentioned is 5-7 days. So instead of giving negative feedback, I went with it so he could think about it if he decided to do a short trip.

I travel for work, so I fly out of ATL / MIA, no directs just transfers to Bogota or Panama. I've scrapped the weekend idea, and will go with 5-7 so I'm looking for a close, 1st SA trip. SP is a must one day, but I'm working on my Spanish & know I have to do MDE at least once. Researching the Bogota sub if it's worth going there (if they have easy high end club girls) since I can get a shorter direct flight.

But from a numbers perspective, there are other cities in Colombia that have a lot more strip clubs and casas and better food.

I think the good and the bad comments about Medellin are very helpful. If it is just the guys who enjoy Medellin, it is the full story about Medellin. I welcome the negative comments about Medellin because it lets guys know that it is not all good in Medellin. As with all places, there is good and there is bad and sometimes you get a mixed experience.

That point is that there are some guys on the fence about going to Medellin and negative comments allow them to make an informed decision.

For guys who are going to Latin America for the first time, I actually think it would be better to go to Guadalaja, Mexico or Costa Rica first because it is just easier for gringos who don't speak English and it is a safer experience.

That being said, I just came back from Medellin and I had a good time but there were some negatives to the trip. When I have time, I will post a few comments about my trip.

Unless you compared the 2 at exactly the same minute you don't really know. And what are you comparing. ATM conversion, at a teller, on line?

I know when I convert money the rate that is quoted is good for 10 minutes only. ATM conversions change at least daily, and depending on your home bank and what clearing house they use those rates may also change by the minute. In my case my home bank does the conversion so it doesn't matter what bank I deal with in the foreign country. I am not from the USA and my bank does not use the VISA or Mastercard systems for currency conversion.

You are right, and I compared one day apart and exchange rate didn't differ a whole lot.

The point I tried to make is this. If he only has 2. 5 days on the ground. Based on the context of his post, comparing what you get from La Isla, to what you get from Scandallo. It is a waste of time spending time in La Isla even if it is closer and cheaper. I speak from experience that I have been to both in the past few months.

For you or others who have many other options, that will be different.

While nothing in Medellin comes even close to Scandallo (and a few other venues in So Paulo), for a short trip, MDE makes way more sense. Flying from the US to Brasil for anything under a week is not worth it.

Looking for guidance and opinion from the fellow friends.

I have been to Medellin just once in 2019 and absolutely loved it.

I am contemplating going back to Medellin but Dubai is also an option that is possible.

Never been to Dubai, Anyone who has been to both places can you provide me some comparison points.

Other than the obvious which is high cost per encounter in Dubai, would Dubai offer better options in diversity, venues, better things to do during the day etc?

Been to Dubai once, albeit several years ago. IMO it's not a great place for our hobby. There are definitely women abvailable, but the experience isn't good. It’s also IMO not much of a tourist destination. I'the never go back unless it was extremely convenient for me.

Hi everyone, am currently in Medellin since Sunday and wanted t give a Quick Update on some points that have been discussed here:

All BBVA ATMs I've tried spit out max. 300 k peso and costs are 15 k pesos (that was an equivalent to 72 EUR) Bancolombia gives 600 k and costs are about 22 k pesos (damage in checking account: 151 EUR). So the BBVA option is definitely better.

All the nicer Hotels in el Poblado charge an extra fee if you bring girls so staying there. So the hotels make only sense if you already have a girl that travels with you. Best option therefore is an individual Airbnb. I cannot recommend Factory Lofts Laurels BTW.

Walking around laurel is and el Poblado is super safe. People here are really friendly and nice and during daytime you need to be stupid as fuck that something happens.

Please just don't take iPhones or iwatches with you. An iPhone 13 pro is a half year salary for a regular Colombian. So do the math. I always have a cheaper but good Huawei phone with me. No one cares about that.

Best sim carrier is Claro. Buy the SIM card at any street vendor or Kiosk (5 k peso) and top up with a 15 day package with 10 GB, limitless calls and SMS (20 k peso). Do the top up and stores called "gana" - green colour, minuscule letters.

Girls in el Centro around Veracruz were all really really nothing I'd ever touch. I'll go and have a look there today again. Better options:

Mia at Ella's Erotic. (130 k for half an hour with BBJ). This woman is pretty fantastic, definitely an 8 out of 10, about 30 years. I was looking for an ATM that allows you to take out a fair amount of pesos. At the Banco Davivienda ATM, I was able to withdraw the equivalent of $440 US. I don't worry about the fees because I have a Charles Schwab card and I get reimbursed. I was impressed at the amount of pesos I could take out but it came out in 100 mil peso notes. I prefer the smaller notes but the 100 mil notes went fast with the Facebook chicas.

Earlier, I also saw some posts and fellows complaining, that Lysto spray got expensive and over 25 $ a bottle. Well, maybe that's the case in the tourist rip off center. But just go to any farmacia o drogueria. The official price per bottle is around 50 k peso. I just bought one today at Farmacia Pasteur. Red with blue in the logo. Regular price for the bottle is 43.330 pesos, I got it today at a promotion for 36830 peso. That's about 9 USD. I'll try it out right now, not that I would need it. Just for fun. Have a good time.

I have been mongering longer than many of those here have been alive and have been fortunate enough to have lived in prime time for mongering in places at their prime time. Cuba, Costa Rica. But before that, there was Venezuela. Before the political cluster fuck that ruined the country. In the 90's, Venezuela was the prime spot for fishing and the most beautiful women in the world. Back then, they were $ a throw in 1990 dollars!!! The fact that they have been displaced as they have to Columbia just makes the pot sweeter and like shopping in the Dollar store! Venezuela / Columbia is a randomly mutually agreed upon geographic border. Basically they are the same with different cultures and histories. 40 years ago, the tables were turned.
